I looked back at the list and realized I was asked 7 questions.Congrats! do you remember the questions asked for the civics test?
1. What is an amendment?
2. Who vetoes bills?
3. What did the Declaration of Independence do?
4. What is the supreme law of the land? (I gave the wrong answer for this one)
5. What is the capital of Massachusetts?
6. Who did the US fight in WW 2?
7. Who is in charge of the executive branch?
For the English one:
I read - Where is the White House?
I wrote - The White House is in Washington D.C.

I passed my interview! The whole process overall was pretty fast and easy. My interview was at 8:30 am and I got there just five minutes before that. There were around 6 other people in the waiting area when I got there. I was called at 9:50. The officer was very nice. We went over the application first to make sure nothing had changed. She asked if I drove which I found weird but since I don't she didn't ask anything else. I was worried she would ask about me never filing taxes but she didn't! We then did the civics part and then the english one. She told me I passed and I was out by 10!

That is not true! Who are you trying to fool here? This is not a drinking or smoking law. As long as you are still 21 years of age, your parents can petition you.
That is incorrect. The only way a child can get their citizenship through their parent is if they are under 18. After 18, the child would have to apply for the citizenship apart.

Just prepare a written statement and take it to the interview. Make sure you are prepared to answer any questions. I hope you included your mom's tax return showing you as dependent otherwise take those to the interview.
Good luck!
Yes, I did include my mom's rax return so I'll just need to write the statement. Thank you so much!

Because after 18 I have to do it myself. I wouldn't get the citizenship under my mom anymoreWhy are you doing it yourself if you just turned 18 years old?
Somehow, you guys makes me think of something else...

Did you not file taxes?
No, I turned 18 at the beginning of the year so my mom claims me as a dependent and I had never had a job until recently

Both my parents had their interview today. Interview was at 8.30am and we arrived around 8am.
The USCIS office has plenty of parking spaces.
No food or water allowed. Cell phone are to be muted or in vibrate mode.
Once you pass through security, you then arrive at the receptionist who provides a token number and you'll be called based on that number. Parents were given different token numbers.
They were called by two different USCIS officers for separate interviews.
The interview process took about 15-20 minutes and both had positive experience.
They were asked to verify their name, phone number and address. USCIS officers went over most of the questions on the N-400 application and specifically focussed on the ones we had answered YES.
Did you ever not file taxes? we answered YES and provided a written statement and the officers wanted to know why we did not file taxes etc.
My mom had a slightly different experience. The officer who interviewed asked her about her 800+ days outside the US and several trips she had taken, wanted to know why etc and at the end seemed convinced that Mom had strong ties to US.
Once their interview was over and they were approved, both requested expedited Oath due to impending travel.
They were asked to wait in the waiting area and after about 15 minutes were told as there was an Oath scheduled this coming Friday(9/26) they were being assigned to that. Shortly after that we got a printout of the Oath letters.
We were out by 10AM.
I was wondering the written statement as to why they didn't file taxes, was it sent with the n-400 application or did they bring it to their interview? I was looking through the copy of my n-400 but I don't remember mailing them a written statement at all.

Yes. I got it yesterday.Did you ever receive the "yellow letter" or not?

Got my interview letter on Tuesday! My interview date is October 8 at 8:30am in Lawrence. Sorry, I hadn't posted it earlier but I just started college last week and it has been pretty hectic lately. Also, I got the yellow letter today but they only asked bring state issued ID and passports which I was gonna bring either way.
-
Just got email notification that interview has been scheduled. So excited, can't wait for the letter! The Lawrence office really works fast.

Priority date is the date USCIS received your packet.
Notice date is the date you received 1st letter from USCIS called "notice of action " NOA.
By the way I m from Massachusetts too but field end of July.did you do you finger prints in Boston or lawrence! Did you do a walk in before your appointment date ?
Okay, got it. The NOA date is July 26 then. And I did my biometrics at Lawrence but I didn't do a walk in because I had heard they were quite strict. However, if you do have to do yours at Lawrence and decide to do a walk in, I recommend you have a good excuse or they might just tell you to wait until the date you were assigned.

Is it June 26 or July 26 for the correct NOA date? Thanks!
I'm a little lost. Is it the notice date on the letter or the priority date? or the date I actually got the letter?
