  1. Hello!

So I finally got my marriage certificate in mail and I brought it to Social Security office to request for name change. I have driving license and SSN card and marriage certificate. However, I was told that I have to change my name at Homeland Security first then I only can change my name on SSN card. She also said that I need to have Green Card to change my last name too. I saw the K1 guildeline and it seems I could change name after getting married and before filing for AOS... I'm so confused. Anyone had similar issue?

  2. They like to see evidence. It's better to have more evidence than getting RFE for that! I used chat logs from Facebook, Skype and text message app. I took screen shots of our lovely conversation (where we said love you~ and love you mwaaaak to each other, lol) then put them in Word file nicely. Also, I put cover note saying "evidence of relationship" too so it's easier for them to see.

  3. Don't give up! We had same RFE asking for same thing and we were like WTH? That made me cry out loud. My fiancé did not know what to do if he sent incorrect documents or what.... But we thought maybe it got lost somewhere and sent the same thing they asked for. After being on RFE status for frigging long time, we got our NOA2 finally! It's frustrating how USCIS is sometimes but just give them what they ask for and you will be fine.

  4. Well, I called Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia on 1/26, the receptionist was so helpful but after she transferred me to Certificate of Good Conduct department and as soon as I heard someone voice when connected, they hung up on me. I called again, she transferred me, connected, but someone hung up on me. I gave myself a try to e-mail them and it worked like a charm. I received a reply just in few hours in same day and was told it does not matter if the photo has white or blue background. The both photo and the passport page photo file format must be in jpg or jpeg. They told Me when I am done with submitting the application online, reply back to them. So I did. Today, I check my status online and my certs are ready for pick up now. I was told it would take anywhere from 1 week to 8 weeks via e-mail and I was expecting it would take that long long long time but it took only 2 days for me. I am very surprised and pleased with their e-mail support!

  5. Hello! I am Japanese living in Malaysia. I'm trying to apply for Police Certificate for 2 passports I have as I recently had to renew it. According to the manual, I will have to upload a passport sized photo. In here, do I have to upload a photo with blue background or white background? I'd like to double check because new Japanese passport photo comes with white background. My old passport photo comes back blue background. Which one should I choose? I asked my Malaysian colleagues, their passport photo comes with blue background. I would like to double check! Thank you. :)

  6. Hey! I don't think you will get denials otherwise they are not asking for RFE. My fiance had 2 DUIs and small possession of drug so that made it 3 convictions. He got certified documents from the court for each case and sent it back to CSC. I was damn worried about this RFE thingie but we just received approval from USCIS website today. I think RFE may be a good thing in a way that they already look at your package. So get documents whatever RFE asks for and you will be fine. :)

  7. I follow instructions on that page and dont remember i need to bring any copy of the passport, letter or photos. It is all online, you will need to upload the photo when you apply GOC online. Passport number MUST be correct, and print the acknowledgment form when you going to collect it fro their office. However,I am not sure is that same for Foreigner. I believe the website will explained.

    Good Luck & Cheers

    Thank you so much! :)

  8. I get my Certificate of Good Conduct (CGC) from here http://www.kln.gov.my/web/guest/home

Hey! Thank you, iamalexis! Do you happen to know what else I will have to prepare along with this? Like passport copy, employment letter from HR, passport picture or anything? Just in case. Terima Kasih. :):):)

  9. Hello!

Does English translated "Koseki Tohon" have expiry date when using it in overseas? I grew up in Malaysia and will have to hand it in to US embassy after NOA2. I hear it has 3 months expiry after being issued in Japan. I'm just curious. I don't know when I will be doing this yet for now but if there is expiry to use in overseas, I'd like to be careful.

    Many thanks! :)

  10. Hello TIm/Mav,

Do you not think sending same documents aren't sufficient? We are not sure if they really got these documents. :( and I am so sorry I don't know a lot of things regarding fiancé visa application but may I know what Infopass Appointment? My fiancé is planning on calling USCIS Tier 2 person next Monday to try to double triple check regarding this matter.

Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate your help.

  11. Hello!

    Need some advice again!

We received 1st RFE notice back on Oct 15th. We responded to it on Oct 31st. I see others are getting something like RFE received notice from USCIS but we never got any news. So my fiancé called them twice in end of November and beginning of December to check if they received what he sent before. The agent on the phone said they received our documents and we felt relieved temporary and waited and waited for next news. But surprisingly after 2 months, we got same RFE again on Dec 16th. We can't believe it!

The RFE is about criminal records for my fiancé from I-129F. He did 2 DUIs and posession? of drug. That would make it three convictions and he will have to provide documents. These cases are passed and closed. What do you think guys? Were we told lies by USCIS? I don't know if there was any misunderstanding somewhere or if my fiancé documents were lost. Or his proof of documents good enough? He went to somewhere to get proof of documents with signature and stamps officially before and oh my I felt bad, he had to go there on Christmas Eve to obtain those documents again.

Our deadline is on Jan 7th. I feel like 2 months was wasted waiting for news but it seems they never got our RFE documents. I got upset but we have no choice so we are doing whatever we can and send same documents again before the deadline hoping we can be together next year.

Anyone with similar case? My fiancé is worried if his documents are good enough too... Any advice? What happens if these documents are not good enough but we sent it before deadline? Will we get another possible 3rd RFE or if failed to provide documents (I don't know what they want?) our petition get denied? I can't believe this is happening but we staying strong.... I hope 2015 to be better year...!

  12. Hello,

We got our 1st RFE regarding my fiance's criminal record on 10/16. We responded to it on 10/31. Then, unfortunately after waiting for almost 2 months, we got our 2nd RFE on 12/16. We are not sure what they will be asking yet as the letter is still on the way to his home. I hope after this, we will hear good news but can it be another RFE again? Is 2nd RFE our last chance?

I hope I hope they are not asking much and the 2nd time will be faster...

  13. I am so in shock mode right now. I just checked USCIS case status site and found out this.

We got our 2nd RFE notice after waiting for almost 2 months.

My fiance has already submitted what they asked for but I don't know what are asking again as we gotta wait for the letter to come.

I am so sad right now. I was hoping to hear good news around Christmas time. :crying:

  14. Hello white rabbit!

The good news are that USCIS received your documents. They should answer within 60 days, which is 2 month. The first month is over and you will receive a response by the end of the year. Good luck!

    Hello LadyDi,

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really do hope to hear something by end of this month, the clock is ticking and ticking! Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again! *hug*
