  1. Thanks you guys for the replies, I read everything you said and while reading i felt really bad, I'm not gonna be away from my wife even for a fantastic job, I will stay with my wife, will tell her about my decision right now, being away will complicate everything, it's been a hard time on us and won't make it any harder...I've been thinking about it a lot, and it sound complicated, so I'm staying with my love...

Big Thanks for your time and appreciated words ..

    Anna Maria and Dave :)

  2. Good Evening everyone, hope you're all good and happy :)

    So after 10 months of processing, I will move to the US to be with my wife, but as the time comes; more issues seems to need our attention, I apologize if my questions are repeated, leaving in less than a week and don't have much time to research,,, So I applied for a job online and got several interviews in September, one of them is not in the state my wife lives in, its a really catchy job and I have a good chance, my wife can't move coz of her job, so we were thinking that I can take that job and go back to her on weekends since its like 6 driving hours away, Sooo I was wondering;

will there be a problem if I didn't live at the address I provided when I applied?

Will they ask me where I'm going to live or give an address at the Port of Entry?

what about driving licence? can I get it before I get my Social security number? and can I get it in another state that was provided in my Application?

should I notify the USCIS about changing my address ?

any advise on what I should do to avoid any kind of problems in the future.

and I have only 3 hours at the Port of entry (Philadelphia airport) then have to be on another flight, is it ok? or I need more time? I'll land at 8 am.

I just hope I get a job at my wife's state, will make everything easier wont it?

And thank you so much in advanceeeeee :)

  3. You got to Issued, so the war is over. Just a matter of waiting your turn to get your visa printed, glued to your passport and sent out the door. Just be patient. Nothing you can do to speed things up.

Thanks you guys for the support, I did get the visa this morning, 27 days, I think the system crash have something to do with it, Anyways, I'm very excited to be with my wife real soon, will start a new awesome lifeee :) , She's a med student, gonna be a great doctor one day, and I will start my PhD next year, will be hard but Very nice with my amazing life partner.

Good luck for you all and my prayers for each and every one of you.

  4. You know I've been coming here before just learning from your experience and trying to understand the steps and everything, it was very helpful, I would like to thank you for this great website and and wish you all good luck and a great lifeeee :)

It sure will be hard to leave my country, even though it's really hard to live here, but we appreciate every single second we're alive on it, Promise to come back stronger, more educated to serve my country...

    your Palestinian Friend :)

  5. Each consulate has their own backlog. Look in the regional forum for your consulate to see about how long it should normally take so you get an idea if yours is late or not.

Some consulates do have backlogs of one month or more.

    Thanks

I did that and couldn't find someone waited more than 20 days after approval from that consulate ... some got it only one week after approval.

There was a system crash during your waiting period that has caused delays. This is why you've had to wait longer than normal.

Thanks,,, Hope that is the only problem, hehe you wait for a long time but at some point it gets frustratingggg ...

  6. When you filled out DS160, where did you have the passpor/visa be sent?

In my fiancee's case, she chose a local delivery location that was listed on the web site,

    which wasn't her home address.

Yes, I think you should definitely call them since it's outside of their delivery estimate.

    Good luck.

    thank you :)

I chose to pick it up myself from the Mail company, and they haven't received anything yet, just logged in to usvisa-info.com and it says :

There is no information on the Courier Waybill Number at this time.

so I guess that means they didn't send the package yet ..

  7. Hello, my interview was 25 days ago, they told me I was approved at Jerusalem Consulate, and I will get my passport and visa back in 2-3 weeks, but it's been 25 days, getting nervous actually, good thing I didn't book flight tickets and quit my job, Hope everything is ok..

CEAC says Issued, and the status update date keeps changing with the same message (Issued)

Your visa has been printed. Your visa will be returned to you by courier soon.

    aaah any ideas?

  8. My interview took 7 hours !!!

it was at 8 am, started the actual interview at 8.30, 8.45 it was almost over, he had like 5 questions and I was done, told me that I was approved, but the fingerprinting machine was stuck only on my case, he wanted to reschedule but I preferred to wait, so I ended up waiting up 'till 2 pm, and finally he called me saying that it might work now, Crossed my fingers and it did work, he was very nice and kept saying I'm sorry..... still waiting for the visa though, its been 3 weeks ..

    Good Luck :)

  9. So after almost a year and a half and a week after the interview ceac.state.gov says issued.

Is it safe to book a flight and quit my job or should I wait till my passport made it here?

(I want to hear the first thing is fine but I know the second is probably more reasonable - I'm too excited to finally start our common life though)

Heyy, I'm in the same place where you are, ceac says its Issued, But Its been about 3 weeks since the interview, Last night sent them an email and this was their response :

Your visa has been authorized and we are in the process of finalizing your immigrant visa file. Once final processing of your case has been completed, we will send you your passport and immigrant visa packet via the courier service you have selected. Please be aware that final processing of immigrant visas often takes up to two weeks and in some cases can take even longer.

So two more weeks from now?! That will make them 5 weeks after the interview .. Hope I'm wrong.

Good luck and i'll keep you updated.

  10. Hello Friends, Thanks for all the information you've all shared, it was helpful through my 11 months visa procedure, and now it all seems to be working out, I was interviewed about 3 weeks ago and my application was approved, they took my passport saying we'll send it back with the visa in 2 weeks !! still didn't get anything, on the CEAC case status check it says : Your visa has been printed. Your visa will be returned to you by courier soon.

Does that mean they printed it and it's still at the consulate? or they already sent it? how long does it usually take to have the passport in hand from the US embassy in Jersualem, Especially that I have an important event coming up in some other country real soon and I need the passport.

    Thanks :)
