My I-485 was approved!!
Here is my experience.
Our interview time was 2.15 but we got there 40minute earlier. Everyone was super nice and polite. We hang out in the building till 1.40pm and went in to submit our appointment letter.
We were called in by a nice friendly Asian young man. He ask are you the last appointment for the day with a big smile.. We replied YES. I guess he was tired for the day and just want to go home. He smiled.
He ask if there's anything we want to add and we gave him everything we had to add.
He ask for ID's and did an oat.
Question 1. How do you meet.
Where did you buy your ring?
He ask who are in the pictures and ask me to give him 10 pictures.
He was basically taking to my wife about cameras because my wife is a photographer and the IO has different cameras too.. I was just quiet during there conversation .. He printed my approval letter and explain how it work.
My online status change after an hour to card in production.
Good luck to everyone who's waiting to go through this process.

My case still in ready for interview scheduling since 10/22. Does anyone on a same stage with me?
Or someone in Houston? Should I do the erequest?
We have the same timeline. I called USCIS and they told me my local office is back logged. He said I might be getting interview date for March. I'm not too worried though because I can work with my EAD.

You can try to watch "Gran Hotel" on Netflix.
It's in Spanish but subtitled in English. I promise you won't want to stop watching the series.

I was suprise to see my SSN in the mail yesterday. I applied 10/27/14 but the lady told me that my info isn't in their system yet and it could take 4weeks for verification with DHS.
I went to DMV today but I was suprise that they didn't ask me for SSN card.
If you live in california, I would advise you not to wait for your SSN before applying for ID or DL.
You can also prepare yourself for the written driving test the same day you apply for DL. I passed my test today and I was given a learner's permit today.
Goodluck to everyone!!!

I went to the social security office on Monday to apply for my SSN but the lady told me that my info hasn't been updated into the SSA database yet.
EAD approved....10/17/14
EAD received......10/24/14
Attempt Applying for SSN...10/27/14 but info not updated yet.
I read on other post that you should wait atleast 10-11days after getting your EAD before applying for SSN. might try again on fri.
That's a liltle tip for all September fillers...

Here's a little update to my case..
I received an email on Friday for my EAD approval, I received the exact email today again. Just a little bit disturbed that I got the same email twice. does anyone have the same issue ?
Advance parole----post decision
I-485---- testing and interview
I believe September was a good month to file.. Good luck to every one.

I guess someone from NBC read my earlier post because they text me and updated my EAD to card production... I'm super happy.
-
I'm loosing my patience with NBC. I filled early september too and no update so far. Has anyone gotten any update from NBC??
-
I'm an early September filer also. AOS accepted the 8th and did my biometrics on the 30th. I haven't gotten no RFE. Everytime I check my case it is not updated. I didn't know NBC was this slow either. It's like waiting for a long time.

I decided to share my AOS progress.

USCIS received date---12th sept
Text/email------------------17th sept
NOA in mail----------------22nd sept

I guess September was a good month.

Part 2. Application type (check one)
I will like to know which one to check because I can't find any of the statement relating to me..
Hint: I'm already in the US and applying to my USC spouse.
Does anyone know the right box to check?
-
I know this question might sound weird but I need help ASAP.
I bought my money order from the post office and the lady told me that I can't have more than $1000 on each check. To cut the long story short I end up having 4 different money order for my I-485 and I-130. $1000, $70(for I-485) and $380, $40 for my I-130.
I already wrote US department of homeland and security on each check.
Do you guys think this is right or I need to find a way to cash out all the money order and buy another one from the bank that would be $1070 and $420 each?
-
My USC is currently filling the I-130 but we have some few questions to ask
Question 22..
Your relative in in the US and will apply for AOS to that permanent resident at the USCIS office in :
1-- we live in California and we are applying for both I-130 and I-485 together. Should I put Chicago or Phoenix in question 22 of the I-30?
2--- if filling for both I-30 and I-485, what address do I need to send my applications to? Chicago or Phoenix?
Thanks!
-
Thanks for the response.. I think you guys contribution helped me. I'm glad I ask this question because I was about to file without the I-130 fee.
-
I'm Applying for AOS but I would like to know if I still need to pay the $480 for the I-30 because someone told me that I just need to pay the $1070 for the I-485 since I'm sending both forms together. Is this true??
