If they question, then just let them know that it is your nickname. It shouldn't be a big deal.
so you mean, there is no need of any affidavit and all rite...and this can be convincible...
-
When they ask other names you are known as a nickname is not what they are asking for. Other names you are legally known as that you had either had legal ID or something. My nickname since I was 11 has been Wheels but it is not listed on my documents its not a legal name. So please don't be concerned that all your wedding stuff has your nick name if asked just tell them oh my friends call me by my nickname.
yes..thanks for the response...sensible one

Oh ok, sorry for misunderstanding. I really don't think it should be an issue (I could be wrong). "Other Names" in your DS260 that need to be mentioned are official names you've had and not nick names. As long as everything checks out (I.E. - You passport name in on the marriage registration, etc) you should not have an issue with your wedding album having your nick name.
hey thanks for the positive words...

Just take your wedding album and a bunch of pictures from your honeymoon and casual selfie's of you and your wife. Don't take a copy of the wedding card. not having a copy of your wedding card doesn't necessarily mean that you do not have a legit marriage. As long as you can prove your relationship it shouldn't a problem at all.
Hope that help & good luck on your interview, you'll be fine; just be confident!
hey thanks for the reply...but actually my invitation card is fine and having correct name..the issue is with the album in which my nick name is used which I havent mentioned in DS260

Husband's appointment is in one hour. He's already waiting in front of the embassy gate. I have never been so nervous. ????
Be calm :-) .. and all the Best..

No, it will not cause any problem. You must list all information in your application.

You need to get one PCC from your current residing city. That is it! Get it from Passport Seva Kendra.
hey thanks for the response...adding work history and address of other cities will create any problem at visa interview? I have the salary slips and the company is still present in that same city(bangalore)..

Hi Friends,Can anyone please answer following query to get PCC for i130.I stayed in different cities of India (Bangalore,Cochin) after the age of 16, do I need to get local police certificate from my previous location Bangalore? As of now I am staying in Cochin for last 5 years and my passport is issued from Cochin. Is PCC from Cochin sufficient ?Do I need to enter the Previous address and work history of Bagalore in DS-260 since age16(3 years)?? I dont have any address proof of bangalore because I stayed in a hostel PG. Will that cause to produce a PCC from Bangalore..Wil that cause any issue at Interview level if I only produce PCC from Cochin ?
-
Since your passport was issued from Cochin and you've been living in Cochin for the last five years, all you need is a police clearance from there. Go to the passport seva kendra website and look up how to go about getting the clearance certificate.
Thanks Divs for the response, But I need to enter the Previous address and work history of Bagalore in DS-260 right since age16?? Will that cause to produce a PCC from Bangalore..Wil that cause any issue at Interview level if I only produce PCC from Cochin ?

I just got NOA2 and I am planning to get my PCC now

Hi sjandsj,
I am living in Kerala for last 5 years(originally from Kerala) and my Passport issued from Kerala. But I have stayed in Bangalore for 3 years before returning to Kerala. I assumes that I need a PCC from PSK Kerala. But my actual question is do I need a Police clearance certificate from Bangalore for the 3 year duration.
I got NOA2 this week and applied for IR1/CR1. Thanks for your support.

Hi,
Thank you for the awesome post. I am also in the process of getting my PCC from Bangalore and after numerous trips to the local police station, they have just sent the document to the Commissioner's office for uploading so that the PSK can then issue the PCC to me.
I have two questions -
1. Why are there two types of PCC. Will it suffice if I just get the PCC from the PSK?
2. In the G-325A form we mentioned that we also lived in another part of India for 6 months. Do we need to go to the Commsioner's office there also to get another PCC? The problem is that we do not have any proof of address from this other place...we were just staying with friends and do not have any official papers to show that we were residing there....what to do in this case?
Thank you for your opinion on this.
Hi Guys, I have lived in bangalore for 3 years and currently staying in Kerala for last 5 years. As per the Green Card application I need to submit the PCC from all the places lived after age 16. Can anyone suggest the PCCs required for my case.
is it like below.
1. PCC from PSK of Kerala(My passport issued from Kerala) and
2. PCC from Commisioner Office Bangalore

Hi everyone. my case just got approved by TSC
Good luck to everyone here.
Congrats Yaya, What was your PD...did u raised any e request after 5 months...can u share the NOA1 and NOA2 dates
-
Hi everyone! Same here, text saying an update n email says it's being reviewed. Completing the 5 m time frame in 3 days! NSC wake up!
Me too got the same text today and am frustrated badly because today I completed 5 months...Texas screwing..
I guess the delay is with Texas and Nebaraska,,others are approving the petitions of September...this is not justice
-
Can anyone suggest the process once the PD completes 5 months timeline(which is next week for us) or is there any expedition can be done/possible once the 5 months period gets completed because I could see the Texas timeline says that its May 2nd for i130(as per Oct31)....and for other service center displays the timeline as 5 months
-
Thanks!
And, okay. My PD was July 24th, 2014. What is your PD? As for the info... I got the text and email notification from USCIS.. The text said that there was an update on the case, and directed me to log into the site to check it. As soon as I got the approval, I was able to get status updates/case info from the site again.
So, from what it seems, they are NOT fixing the issue with the site, even though they say they are. It seems to me that it only gets fixed when your case has some sort of update, like a RFE, approval, etc. But, if you do want information, you can call the customer service number, tell them the problem, tell them you have been calling a lot about this matter, and demand to be connected to a tier 2 agent who will give you more information on your case.
If successful, just do a call back, and be prepared to wait potentially for 2+ hours for tham to call back. Though, it is possible they could call you back much quicker than that. It just depends on the wait time. Most of the time the wait time is 1.5+ hours. Good luck!
hi Katie, thanks a lot..Our PD is July 10....and its Texas...I think Texas is the sloooowest...We called Tier2Agent last week and explained the call center/website issue and they told that its the database issue and they told as per the TSC timelines it will take atleast 78 more days(at max) to tell abt a decision and they have registered an e request behalf of us and cut the call...and when I Login to my account I could see the update as Sep 9 which was the address update we made...no other changes...
-
I just wanted to let you guys know that we got approved today!
hey Congrats Katie..nice to hear the good news
...can u tell me how u got the approval info since you have issues at online and thru call centre rite...I am stil facing the same issues...what was ur PD...can u tell me whether u spoke with the Tier2 agent or something..
-
So starting today, I have a new issue. Whenever I call USCIS and enter in my receipt number, the automated system says that: "Status of this receipt number cannot be found at this time in this system." When I talk to the customer service reps, they are not very informative about this either. Have any of you guys experienced this before?
Hi Katie, I am also started facing the issue from yesterday..getting the same message whenever checked thru call centre...I dint cheked with the customer service rep..Will check today and see...The validation error is still ther when I checked thru website....:-(..which is ur Service centre..mine is Texas
-
Yes. From what I see, every one still is. The only time it seems like people stop getting the error message is when there is an update on their case (RFE, Approval, etc.). So, maybe they are working on it, but at this point, I doubt it. Our best bet is to just keep calling USCIS for information, and just wait. I call every day that they are open. It is frustrating, but unfortunately, there is not much to do about it..
Off subject, but what is your priority date?
Its really frustrating :-( ....our PD is July10. When is yours. ...did u get any clue from anywhere that the error could be due to case Review !!
-
I am still getting the same error also. The people I have talked to just keep saying the same thing that it is because of the updates they did to the site.
HI Katie, are u still getting the errors. I am facing the errors still...I worried lot...its been a month now...
-
Hi Guys, I am still getting the validation errors on the USCIS page...Is the error reported previously on this forum is resolved... anyone has any info on this...
-
