  1. I don't get how it was looked at soo fast. How many times did you call them?

Didn't call them. NVC has had our case since October but there were many delays since then. Problems with their computer payment forced us to send the IV payment as a check. Check wasn't processing because of more computer problems. So we then submitted payment electronically, after their online payment issues were resolved. After payment finally processed (BTW, we have actually paid IV twice. Will try to get it back AFTER I actually get green card.) we send the AOS and IV paperwork, which was received Feb. 3rd. Notified it would be 60 days or more to process that.

We then, luckily, received notification that it was done March 10th...And then even better news, the next day, that interview was scheduled for April 16th. Feel very lucky to have this last part done so quickly.

All I can figure is that our lawyer was very very organized with what she sent originally and the AOS, IV and supporting documents...originals, copies all tabbed and easy to review.

Very little that I HAVE to bring to the interview...of course I will still bring additional copies of everything.

FYI we submitted application OCTOBER 24, 2013!!!! Three service requests and a congressional inquiry with USCIS, a million calls to NVC before we sent supporting docs. No problems with ANYTHING on our part, I guess just bad luck.

Very happy now that it will all be over soon.

Anyone have info on how long between interview and receiving passport with visa???

  2. Our AOS/IV documents were received on Feb 3rd and, for the first time in the whole process, it was completed in less time than they said. We received confirmation yesterday AM (March 10th) that we will be notified as soon as the interview is scheduled.

Does anyone know the approx time between getting this notification and the interview date...Montreal Embassy.

    Thanks

  3. Hi everyone.

Happy to report that we finally had our I-130 approved by USCIS (NOA2) after 10.5 months, three service requests and a congressional inquiry (think that ultimately did the trick, btw). Happy about that, but trying not get our hopes up for a fast NVC process and interview (to keep ourselves from going insane). However, we're wondering how things have been for everyone else via Canadian consular processing. Should we be thinking another 3-4 months or be prepared for a longer wait. Our lawyer is submitting everything NVC needs all at once. Not sure what that means but perhaps you all could shed a little light on that.

    Thanks!

  4. Any updates, buddy?

Still nothing. No response for the e-request. My husband sent back a form from our congresswoman to finalize info for a congressional inquiry. Hopefully that may help.

Thinking that the best thing at this point will be a response for our I-129F. It was filed on Feb. 14th so according to their processing times we could get a approval on that at any time. Not holding my breath though. As our I-130 is now going on 10 months with nothing.

  5. Don't call. File service request online. You will get response in the email as well if you file it online. There's a link called 'e-request' on the case status page of USCIS.gov. There must be lot of couples waiting from October filers. Here on this site we have very small data set and most of us are approved. Don't take that as something to stress u out though.

There are three Oct filers still waiting for NOA2.

Well, there is a good chance that they haven't updated their timelines or they left Visa Journey and became inactive. -_-

However, 96% of the Oct filers have received NOA2.

Just filed e-request this morning...fingers crossed for a NOA2 very soon.

Thanks to you both for your info.

    :-)

P.S. After receiving NOA2, how long have most ppl been waiting between receipt of I-130 NOA2 until interview in Canada (Is there any interviews being done at the Toronto consulate , or is it just Montreal for the east coast)

  6. Hi There,

We just got approved this week. I feel your pain. Make sure your address is up to date at USCIS. it could be your service request response mail not being delivered to you by USPS? Try filing e-request (service request filed online). If you file e-request, you will get response in the email as well.

Congressman inquiry would help to find out status of your case as well. Although, if your case is pending because of security checks then you just have to wait till that gets cleared. As long as neither of you don't have criminal records, it's nothing to worry about. I hope you get approved soon.

    Thanks very much.

No address changes, service requests have been filed by our lawyer. Think I'm going to try and call tomorrow to see if I can put in another one...don't know if calling myself will make any difference with a (hopefully) sympathetic person on the phone (if that even makes any difference).

Are there any other couples that filed in October still waiting for their NOA2, feeling like my app was lost at the back of a filing cabinet?

  7. Hi everyone, new to the forum and am looking for advice that anyone can give.

Received NOA1 from Nebraska on October 24, 2013 for I-130 and,

    February 14, 2014 for I-129F

Have submitted two service requests for I-130 on May 8, 2014 (received response saying we would have a answer in the next 30 days... nothing) and then on June 17, 2014 (with no response from USCIS)

We have now submitted a request for congressional inquiry and have just sent the form required by our congresswoman, to start that procedure.

Anyone else still waiting this long, any advice from anyone would be helpful, thanks.
