  1. Hello everyone,

This topic is directed to Santo Domingo embassy members. However, I will be more than happy to read anyone who is willing to share their questions, comments or concerns.

Since my fiancé and I have started the K-1 visa process, we've been under the impression we would get notice from the USCIS, NVC down the Santo Domingo embassy as to when his interview has been scheduled for or anything that has to with his case. The last notice (July 02, 2015) we received was via email, from USCIS that his case was in process. A few days ago, (July 28, 2015) I contacted the NVC for the whereabouts of his petition. They informed us that they sent to the embassy July 16, 2015. Before contacting the embassy, I checked the CEAC website with the case number provided to me and a popup window stated our case was "READY" for an interview. Then I contacted the embassy to confirm they had it and to know what date they had chosen for us to interview. The very nice agent stated that before he can give us any information about my fiancé's case or talk about any scheduling, we needed his passport number. Even though we heard how easy it seemed and got wicked excited :joy:, keeping positive faith, we can't help it to think that this is too good to be true. Now, we won't have his passport until Monday, so we will contact the embassy as soon we get it but I still have some questions and I ask for anyone who is willing to share their answers.... :help:

    1. As I mentioned before, I thought they (Santo Domingo embassy) would contact us to let us know when he has been scheduled for. Am I wrong to assume this or is it that easy to get my fiancé's passport number to schedule his interview?

    2. If we are given the opportunity to choose a date, can we choose any date?

    3. On our approval K-1 visa letter, there is a section that states: Approval Notice June 24, 2015- October 23, 2015. Common sense to schedule interview date before approval notice expires, right??

    4. Once approved, how long until he gets his visa? (It's understood, each situation varies)

    Thank you all!!!!!

  2. Good afternoon everyone!!!!

I have contacted the embassy in Santo Domingo to find out if they have received our case. Before calling them, I checked with the CEAC online with the case number provided by NVC and it stated the case was "READY" for an interview. Once we contacted the embassy, we needed to give them my fiancé's passport number in order to get any information or set an interview date. I'm a bit confused.... I was under the impression we were suppose to wait for the embassy to give us a date on their own. Now it seems that we can book an interview date just as long we have my fiancé's passport number. Is this the norm in Santo Domingo? Please help!!!
