Of course. The 6 month residency slipped my mind. It looks like We'll take the long road.
Thank you Mark88 for your thoughts and answers.

I looks like people have been DCFing in Paris until 2012.
Moving to the UK, Germany, or Belgium for a few months is actually a great idea.

Thanks. It IS amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...
Why can people do DCF in Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Vietnam, and all France's neighbors, but not here in France?
-
Never mind... I just read that DCF in not offered in Paris! it figures.
So, How do I need to file than if I live in France, I mail, it goes to a processing center, and I wait.... like a year ?
-
No direct consular filing offered in the Paris embassy...
What does it mean for me. I have to mail it to the US? Is it going to go through a processing center and take a year+- ?!
I just started to get my hopes up about DCF, thinking we could to it quicker, and just read that the Paris embassy doesn't offer it.
Thanks.

Thank you all for this information!!!
Can anyone tell me how drastically different the Paris embassy could be in a case like this?

My now wife and I met in the US almost 2 years ago, and were married in France last October. I just returned to the U.S. last month to work.
So, from what I understand I will file for CR1, or perhaps K3. Is K3 going to be any benefit? There are her 3 kids from a previous marriage, and our new baby.
I think I have a slightly complicated situation.
Thanks,

Hi,
I am happy to have all of the support of knowing that I am not alone in this kind of experience.
Thanks,

My wife (french) and I were married in France in October. I'm american, living in the US again for only the last month. I have been looking at the immigration process, and the CR1 looks like the path to take.
We have a new baby, plus she has 3 kids from a previous marriage who would be coming with her (the oldest one, 13, has dual France/USA citizenship). I don't know how that could factor in. I'm wondering, Does having all these children make the K3 an option? It seems to be for families, but people say it is mostly useless.
My main question is about sponsorship. Can this be anyone who meets the financial requirements? Does it have to be the petitioner?
I will gladly elaborate on my situation. I will be happy to hear some experienced feedback/advice.

Hi,
Your son is not an alien. He is a USC, and the N600K is a declaration not a petition.
Best wishes.
