  1. My husband and I have been waiting since January 2014. Seventeen years together. We filed in Oct and Dec, nothing. I had to phone in April of 2014 and was told by USCIS agents and supervisors 6 times that my husband could come to the U.S. and we file the 1-129f when he got here. Stopped at the border and told no, that was the wrong information.

Still waiting, congressional inquiry, White House letter, several requests and still nothing.

I think I will be moving to Vancouver, disappointed with my country and their actions.

PS. I served in the USAF for 10 years, what for? The disrespect from this process has left me thinking how backwards this country is, their lack of accountability is weakening.

  2. OMG...too funny! I could imagine the nun's.

If you already have one here, talk to your banker in Canada. You are allowed to transfer your money into your US account, more than 10,000.

If you don't have an account here can you get to the states to and open one up? You will only need your passport at BofA, you don't need a SSN or driver's license. Then start your transfer process.

Scotiabank is a partner bank with BofA in the states.

  3. My husband has been waiting in Canada for over 6 months, NOA1 received 1/28/2014. I phoned the USCIS yesterday and asked the Immigration Officer if they could give me any information, nothing after a 95 min. wait. The USCIS told us (6 times) in April that he could cross the border (Peace Arch) with his household and our dog and file a I-129f when he arrived. Nope, it was incorrect information and turned away at the border. I am ready to throw up my hands and give up. It took us 17 years to get married after DOMA was struck down, this process feels like another 17 years.

Our file is an NSC (people have been approved that filed after us) with no extenuating circumstances.

Would an attorney help this process or should I just keep waiting?

    Thanks,

    Frustrated Mark!
