  1. Hello,

My husband file his I-751 in April of 2016 and his case went from Vermont service center to California service center. He has also done his bio metrics 2 month after filing.

On the processing times for California it says: August 31, 2016 - Does that mean they are processing for August as of now? Do they go one day at the time? In that case it will take FOREVER!!!

He is also eligible to file for citizenship in a couple of months, should we go ahead and apply? Even tho we haven't heard from the I-751?

Can he travel outside of the country while all these are happening? His green card is expired.

He is from Iran, so we are a bit hesitant since Trump can change his ban any time!

  2. What are you going to ask them?? How does the sponsors income matter anymore? Your husbands ROC or citizenship has nothing to do with YOU a USC being pregnant or receiving medicaid. I know we like to think of ourselves as a significant part of the process but we are not. This is his immigration journey. Your involvement is limited. Its the same thing with the pregnancy. Yes it is you guys' baby- but technically it is only you that is getting medicaid and health care during the pregnancy. He is a non factor. He doesnt get the morning sickness, he doesnt take the prenatal vitamins, he doesnt get the medicaid. USCIS wont care if an LPRs spouse gets medicare. medicaid, food stamps, goes to jail, becomes president, finds a cure for cancer... they really dont. Theyll find it interesting during an interview if its of an interesting nature like curing cancer or a cute baby but thats about it...

you are too funny!! :) You are right!

However I've gone through hell bringing him here I don't want to jeopardize anything.

I guess my concern was that this is what they might ask:

I was suppose to sponsor my husband, now I don't have a job and I'm getting medicaid for pregnancy! And we signed documents saying we will not be a burden to the whole system.....

I just applied for it today, and I hope it goes through.

    Maybe I'm over thinking it...

    THANK YOU!

  3. I live in North Carolina.

My husband has a job and we don't have any issues with paying bills, but pregnancy is another story.

I also lost my job in in September and I did have insurance so did my husband.

In January 2017 we will have insurance through my husband's job...I have heard that the medicaid for pregnancy can be use in conjunction with your employer based insurance.

My only concern is removal of condition that's coming up.

I wonder if USCIS customer service number will answer such question!

Any other resources or guides that I can use or find out the answer are appreciated

    Thanks everyone

  4. Hello,

So I am the only sponsor for my husband and he came here with his CR1 visa July 2015 - We both are in US now.

I want to apply for Medicaid for pregnancy ONLY!

Would this cause us any issues since his removal of conditions are going to be in April 2017.

I had read that medicaid for pregnancy is okay because it's temporary but now I can't find the literature online for it.

    I need some help!

    Thanks!!!

  5. Thank you so much!

    It now makes sense!!!

So basically she has to wait for her priority date of Jan 11, 2016 to become "current" meaning ready to be issued a visa for her spouse.

Also what are these 2 mean on that site you provided? Since the dates there are different, one is 22NOV15 AND one is 22JAN15

    A. FINAL ACTION DATES FOR FAMILY-SPONSORED
    PREFERENCE CASES

    B. DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED

    VISA APPLICATIONS

  6. Hello,

My friend wanted me to post this question for her as her English isn't that good.

So she lives in Iran with her husband, She has a green card which she applied for her husband - F2A visa.

She comes and stays in the States for 2-5 months at a time...

    Priority date: Jan 11, 2016

She has her case at NVC, and in June she got a letter from them saying:

"Currently, a visa number is unavailable and this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The reason for this delay is that there are more applicants for visas than there are immigrant visa numbers available under the limitation prescribed by law. For some visa categories, this delay could be many years."

I also checked her case number at state's website and this is what it said:

"Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete."

    What does this mean?

How long is this going to take?

Where can I find a forum that explains all these in simple language? :)

    Any information would be helpful

    Thanks ahead!

  7. Hello

So my husband had his interview on February 3rd in Abu Dhabi ( he is an Iranian citizen )

All went well and they only asked for his military excemption card which was never mentioned for him to bring, but luckily he brought it and the company he works for which is Chinese telecom company in Tehran, Iran.

They just gave us a blue paper with the website for us to check the status of the case.

It's been 47 days since the day of interview!

We are indeed running out of patience and loosing hope.

It has been 17 months since we applied for CR1

Any ideas on how much longer?

Any phone numbers for Abu Dhabi consulate I can call to find out something about our case?

Anything anyone has tried in the past to get some info?

    Thank you in advance!

    - The impatient one :(

  8. Thanks Hikerwa,

When you say "certified originals" do you mean translated marriage and birth certificates?

I send the certified true translated of both marriage and birth certificated after I got the checklist on Oct 17th but now I'm starting to worry that they want the original birth/marriage certificate in Farsi which they might loose!

    I'm in panic mode!

Cuz if I get the second checklist after 60 days then I will loose my mind :(

  9. Hi all,

So I have an issue with the checklist I recieved on Sep 23, 2014 saying I forgot to put N/A on my AOS form and that they need "original" birth & marriage certificate in Farsi.

I had sent them the copied of translated copy but they said they wanted the original translated copy with original birth and original marriage certificate.

Has anyone send their original documents that is not in english?

    What if they loose them?

This is fraustrating cuz NVC site says: originals OR translated copies!

    Thanks in advace

  10. So my last scan date was 7/30/2014 and this is the checklist that I got on 9/23/2014

I had sent AOS and IV in ONE package in different envelopes but they say they do not have the IV package!

So I called NVC today and they said they still cannot locate it and that I have to sent ORIGINAL birth certificate and ORIGINAL marriage certificate along with a certified translated copy of each!

Has anyone sent ORIGINALS? Imagine if I had sent it earlier they would have lost it...

    Any thoughts?

AND of course I forgot to put N/A on part 3 on the form I-864EZ...another 60 days! Just for future reference for anyone that gets a checklist for this part...if the address is the same just put N/A on ALL LINES.

  11. OMG!!! I'm so sorry about your civil documents, but if they where on the same package, how can they just be missing that? I don't get it!!! so what they told you to do?

I don't understand what's going on either! How can they not see the civil documents that was send in the "same package" as the AOS documents?

He said to send the civil documents again and send the corrected form I-864EZ along with it and then wait 60 days! :dead:

    No end in sight....

  12. the check list for the civil documents is generated due to them reviewing the AOS it doesn't mean they don't have it. and about the n/a a lot of people are getting those.. :( I'm afraid I will be in that boat also, my scan date is 8/8

I just called NVC, they said there is no sign of civil document (IV package) in their system!!!! OMG!!!!

He also said a lot of people are getting a checklist because of not putting N/A on the questions they have left blank.

I really hope you don't get a checklist!

Another thing, my checklist email says 30 days but he said it's actually 60 days, he said the emails haven't been updated to reflect the time correction....

    VERY fraustrated!!!! :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting:

  13. Soooooooo I got a checklist today and I am very frustrated !!!!!!!!!!!! :ranting:

My scan date was: July 30

I had sent and submitted AOS/IV/DS-260 all at the same day and in the checklist they are saying that they will not process my DS-260 because they do not have the civil documents!! Perhaps they are BLIND!! It was in the same package as the AOS!!

Also on my I-864EZ form one line is empty because it doesn't pertain to me and I had to put N/A and I didn't !!!!

So now once I submit again I have to wait another 30 days! :crying:

    I'm going crazyyyyyyyyyyyy! :dead:

  14. Hi guys,

I am applying for CR1 for my husband and I am the sole sponsor for him.

Have submitted AOS/IV/DS-260 to NVC and my 60 days is up at the end of September.

I want to know if I change jobs in the middle of all this would that cause any issues at the interview for my husband?

Does he have to take with him all the information/paperwork/pay stubs about my new job to the interview with him?

What actions need to be taken on my part and his part?

    Our embassy is Abu Dhabi...

    Thank you!!!!

  15. Thanks for all the information, it really helps discussing these matters and reading about it...helps me worry less!

26 days and counting since I sent all docs to NVC!

I like to call them just to see what's up but I'm gonna wait a few more days before calling...

    patience, patience, patience...........

  16. Thank you ChuckM for that information.

I'm still waiting for case complete from NVC

I hope my husband's AP doesn't take long as he never worked in any governmental job as it is frowned upon I heard? And didn't do military service either...I'm just worried the AP at Abu Dhabi will take long as we have waited enough and it will be one year this October since we sent the I-130 application.

Hopefully just a week or less as I have no patience left at all for a long AP!

    Waiting...................

  17. Hi everyone!

I have sent AOS and IV package to NVC and submitted DS-260 on 7/29/2014

    My questions are:

    1. How long will it take the NVC to review my package and schedule an interview date?

I know they have said 60 days, but anyone get case complete recently?

My consulate is Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates, I could not find many information or timelines of members who have gone there recently.

    2. Do Iranian applicants go through AP (Administrative Processing) after the interview for CR1 visas?

If so how long will it take?

Is it possible to get the visa that same day or in a week after the interview?

    Thank you

    I'm counting the minutes!!
