  1. I will be travelling to see my fiancé at the end of June for a couple of months. and I just got my NOA2 as well. My trip was planned before we even applied for the K1 in April (not that it matters). I am going to bring basically everything I have from my visa process to prove that I'm doing things the right way and hope for the best! We'll definitely have to share our experiences here :)

    Hey,

You will be just fine. My Fiancé is currently visiting me for 3 1/2 months and he didn't even have a return ticket! this isn't recommended though, but he had the following to prove his sincerity:

    1. Letters regarding our K1 visa approval for me to travel to the US

    2. My letter of invitation, plus my letter of employment

    3. A letter from his university about his Masters programme

    4. Evidence of him owning a property in the US

Just thought I'd share, to give other the reassurance

  2. So he is flying from the US to the UK?

Is there a reason why you are looking at a one way ticket instead of a flexible fare round trip, which allows changes? Flexible tickets are more expensive than a standard return, but usually much cheaper than two one way tickets. I would anticipate he is less likely to encounter problems if he just picks an estimated return date to book a flexible round trip as he will then have the option to change it without penalty later to suit your timescales once you know where you are with the visa. At least that way he enters the UK with a date for return.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

You made a good point as we hadn't really looked at the flexi option.

I would feel much more confident if he has a return journey date too. I don't want us to lose money and face any disappointment.

Thank you, we will look into that :)

  3. Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well.

    My question is:

Can my fiance (American petitioner) visit me with a one-way ticket providing he can prove he'll return? For example, he is doing his masters and will need to return to start the new semester, and he also has property to pay for.

Just so you know, I'm a British citizen and he is an American citizen. We've already met in person twice, have started the K1 Visa process (Application sent 9th Feb) with the California service center, and have NOA1 as of 12th Feb.

So, why is he travelling with a one-way ticket though?...

We are anticipating that our K1 visa will be granted to me by the end of August, if not, he will return alone without me. If it is then we'd like to then return to the US together

Neither of us have had any issues with boarder security when travelling to see each other. We've always been truthful and have even had officers wish us well with the wedding planning (when I visited in December 2014)!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks
