Online case status has still not been updated since August 2016.

Just got my USPS tracking # ... green card arrives tomorrow.

I got an email today saying the my EAD was mailed today

Can't wait to get it In the mail.

Haven't heard about a interview date and I'm already nervous for it because we don't have any proof that we live together. We spend all our money moving back to California's from Delaware that we have been back and forth from my parents house and my in laws. We are trying to save up to move out but I don't know if that will affect us come the interview :/

Written sworn affidavits from the people who you are living with should do the trick, I would have thought?

Maybe try and get a cell phone plan registered at the address with both your names on it, too.

It's an understandable situation to be in, though, so I don't think it will count against you too badly as long as you can explain it properly and show some sort of evidence (like affidavits)

The only time I got any texts or notifications, was when they accepted my cases.. after that the online status was what showed all updates for me

Seems that all of my cases have been updated nice and promptly, which I wasn't expecting after seeing everyone else's horrible experiences with the USCIS website.

I had the weirdest situation on DMV today. I went there with my brand new and shinny SSN and GC and they said they can't give me my driver's license because they can't find my GC in the system. Did somebody experience something like that?

I had that with the social security office just after receiving my EAD... "not updated in the system yet" type of excuse.

Hi guys! Good to see everyone is progressing well(ish!)

My interview is tomorrow, this is my rough checklist of things we are going to take.. If anyone spots anything missing/silly and could say, that would be lovely!

- Both our birth certificate hard copies

- My passport and EAD

- Copies of written correspondence between us

- Copies of emails between us

- Copies of movie tickets, train tickets, museum tickets and memberships etc

- Copy of lease agreement with both our names

- Copy of renter's insurance with both our names

- Copy of bank statement showing co-mingling of finances

- Two photo albums and misc photos

- Travel Journal (my wife loves to journal, it details all the mini-trips we've taken with the kids, visiting in-laws etc. She's very cute!)

and that's it. Any help would be lovely!

Just got a USPS tracking number for my EAD card.. haven't seen anyone else mention this, is this common?

On September 12, 2014, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days.

Why does it have to be Friday?

Rerto, do they send a confirmation if your expedite request is accepted. Last time when they rejected my request they sent an email in 3 days saying they have denied the request. Now its been 6 days and I haven't seen anything. Last time when I called the 1800 number they said my email, phone all details are present so the officer can choose to communicate with me with anything.

I am hoping they have accepted it since I have not received decline email and the field officer at the local USCIS office said my financial stress case looks legit. But none of my statuses have changed yet, so there is that.

I will be calling them today again.

I didn't get anything regarding my request being successful, my EAD case changed from Initial Review -> Card Production, I didn't have anything in between.

Call up USCIS and ask to speak to a "Tier 2" representative - you may have to wait a while but they're far more knowledgeable and have more access than the front line customer service reps who answer to start with.

Thank you so much Henmoh. It's really uncomfortable situation. I don;t really think that i'm gonna get the mail. It has been sent on August 13th, and we have beginning of September now. We asked them to resend the mail like a week ago, but USCIS said it's not possible. But the idea about going to an office in person is great, we will have to try. I just don;t know if that would help. Sigh, what a mess they have in the papers!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we choose the office location on the I-130 paperwork?

"Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident in the USCIS office in..."

I assumed that office would be the one where I'd have my interview.

In my case, it's slightly different (although the same city) to where I had my biometrics as the biometrics office was solely for that purpose.

Have you tried calling the local offices directly and asking them?

Also, have you spoken to a Tier2 about this?

Just got my interview date for October 7.

Just got an email asking for proof of my job offer for EAD expedite, so I have faxed that to them.

hey excitedtimes! i'm so sorry to hear about your father..have you managed to express the urgency due to your father's diagnosis? I know how hard it is to be away from family and wishing like you could be there...

I just got a call from my congressman's office today saying that USCIS has approved my EAD! I'm not sure if it's because I called USCIS yesterday and put in a request for expedited EAD processing..but hopefully you'll hear something from them within the next few days too.

Yeah, I explained all on the phone and why it would mean urgency was necessary.

Not sure whether it's related or not, my EAD has not changed, but my I-485 just moved to testing & interview, so ... that's good!

urgh..so I contacted my local congressman last Wednesday & faxed in the supporting documents to her for my expediated EAD processing. I called her today and she said that they've initiated an inquiry with USCIS on my behalf on 20 August but there's no update yet.

I checked my status on USCIS and there's no change. I just got off the phone with USCIS, and apparently, there isn't and expedite request put in? I think I was speaking with a Tier 1 IO, and he put in a request for me. But when I asked if he needs any supporting document, he said that there isn't any need for supporting documents as USCIS will not be processing it..?

Just feeling a little anxious right now..should I call USCIS again and speak with a Tier 2 IO? And if so..how do I go about doing it?

Just done exactly the same thing, Congressman's office gave me a "they're back up, we're backed up" excuse.

My situation has become a little more urgent with a cancer diagnosis of my further back in the UK, so I called up USCIS to check, they said they'd had nothing new on the EAD so I put in an expedite request with the woman there and then.

Something strange just happened - without any notifications at all - I just typed in my case number on the USCIS website and my I-485 has been moved to Testing and Interview. I wonder why I'm not getting any SMS/e-mail notifications. hmmm..

Oh well! Yay!

Now I am nearing my current visa max out and I still haven't got EAD. My situation is a little different since I am currently working on H1B and will have to stop working if I dont get EAD before 8/30. Do you guys think I can call the USCIS with this reason and ask them to expedite the EAD process? I am guessing it wont hurt to try. Let me know what you guys think, thanks a bunch !!!

That sounds like the definition of 'immediate financial loss' to me. A letter from your current employer would probably be useful, too, confirming they want to continue employing you or something along those lines.
