  1. My case is ready for an interview once I turn the DS-160 form online but I am stalling it because I am contemplating whether I should turn it in now and land an estimated November interview date in which I cannot attend or wait until October to turn in the DS-160 to hopefully get a January interview date in which I would be able to attend with my fiance. What advice would you give me.

Cambodia is a high fraud country so Im afraid of hurting the chance of getting our case approved by not being there. Has anyone had their case approved by not being able to accompany their fiance in the interview, particularly in Cambodia? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  2. I filed the Fiance Visa (Form I-129F) last week and received the NOA1 on Saturday. I have not received a NOA2 yet but I am preparing ahead of time and noticed I barely make enough to meet the income requirement for a household of 3 (me, dad and fiance). However, if I account for my savings and mutual funds then I will actually meet the requirement. Will they consider my savings and mutual funds as part of my income requirements or is it strictly based on my tax return? I am trying to avoid having a co-sponsor. Thanks for your help.

  3. After reading these posts, I am so discouraged for my own journey since these red flags apply to me too.

I met my fiance through my dad in 2012 and we just got engaged this year. I've visited him 4 times already since then and we traveled to most of southeast asia together but after reading some of the experiences on here, it seems like that's not even enough. :( Anyhow, I have to stay positive and still try.

I filed the k-1 visa for him last week so I'm hoping for the best.

  4. Hi all. Thank you for your time and replies and I think You all scared me not to try to pull a fast one. I need another advice.

I'm a US citizen and my boyfriend is in Cambodia. Would it make any difference in the visa process time if we were to have an engagement ceremony in Cambodia first before applying for a fiancé visa for him to come to the US?

  5. Hi all!

Forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic but my question is:

If my fiance in Cambodia got approved for a K-1 Fiance Visa to marry me in the US, can I marry him in Cambodia first and then fly back to the US to marry again? We were planning on just doing the traditional Cambodian wedding without filing for any paperwork in Cambodia.

Since I will be in Cambodia already for a visit, I would like to celebrate with his side of the family in Cambodia first and then with my side of the family in the USA. I was hoping to visit during the same time that he will be leaving to the US, so that way after our Cambodian marriage, we can fly back to the US together. Is this possible?? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
