I would definitely go for citizenship if you're eligible and so inclined. I would try a service request, if it allows you to do one, before contacting a senator, although you're still in processing times according to their processing times, so I doubt there is much you can do about it. I'm sure you will get news very, very shortly.
I would recommend USPS informed service to you, so you can see what is coming in your mail (if you don't already have it) and then you don't miss your approval or interview or rfe or whatever happens with your case.
4So I just received some good news. My wife's case got approved on 10/6 and the letter arrived in the mail today. Its funny how I called USCIS last week (after 10/6) and even the Tier 2 officer provided no update on the case. Their systems must be really antiquated.
I also sent some documents to my congressman's office this morning to follow-up. But I guess I have to withdraw the request now that its approved. Time to work on the N400 application....
Question:
How long does it typically take to get the greencard in mail? The letter says 60 days.....I have an appointment with infopass next week....but I am inclined to keep it and get a stamp as we are travelling overseas on 11/10
Key Dates:
NOA 1: Sep 23 2016
Fingerprints: Oct 24 2016
Approval Oct 6 2017

Also who do we contact to get more info on the case? Senator/ congressman?

So I just called USCIS on my pending case. My NOA 1 date is September 23. And application is still pending at VSC.
Apparently the VSC is still processing Aug 15 cases.....so no further updates. The Tier 2 officer was also useless....he just asked me to get an informed appt for an extension....which I already got.
They could not answer why some cases from Sep are latest approved.
Anyhow...it's still a waiting game for me.
Do you guys recommend filing for citizenship or waiting for an official approval?

I think medical is required before the biometrics as they ask to bring the medical reports to the bometrics..
Thanks for the clarification.

Hey hi
I have my interview on 12/8 at Mumbai embassy and i have scheduled for biometrics and medical at Hyderabad..It can be done at any of the 5 centers, not necessary to be done at same city as interview..
Another follow.....is the medical required before the biometrics? Or can the biometrics be done first?

Quick question to the fellow members...
My wife has her visa interview in Mumbai on Dec 9. Can she get a fingerprints/biometrics done at Hyderabad? I see there are 5 Visa Application Centers to get your biometrics done in India, but was wondering if the biometrics should be done in the same city as the interview?
Thanks!

Quick question to fellow NVC followers:
My AOS scan date is 9/3 and IV scan date is 9/9. Today on the CEAC website, my AOS fees now shows "N/A" instead of "Paid". Does the IV Fees also change from "Paid" to "N/A"?
I am trying to get through to the NVC this morning, but the line is constantly busy.

My wife was also in the US for 2 years on the F1 visa before she moved back to India. On her DS-260, we listed her entry and exit date. I would assume you would have to list all US visits (temporary and permanent moves) on the DS 260 form

I did the same thing....just email the NVC and give your and the beneficiaries email address as the primary contact. I did the same and have been receiving all the correspondences from NVC

Hello!
Does anyone know if it is OK to send the AOS supporting documents and IV supporting documents as part of the same package to the NVC? I have just paid the AOS and the IV fees yesterday and awaiting the payment confirmation.

Thank you everyone.....Keeping fingers crossed for the rest of Dec filers who are still waiting. Hope you all get your approvals next week

So an update...I randomly checked the status online and it now says "Post Decision Activity" and the following message...
On July 25, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
I did not receive any text or email regarding the approval.
For the folks who got the approval, did you see a similar message on the USCIS website? I guess they just mailed my approval letter today....I am still confused as to, why I got the email earlier in the afternoon saying that it requires a security check and now it says approved. I still don't believe it until I get a letter.

This is the reply that I got for my inquiry....any idea how long it takes:?? I will be completing 7 months on 26th...THIS IS DAMN FRUSTRATING
On July 15, 2014, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
We have placed your case on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your case. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any pending case.
We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.
We hope this information is helpful to you. -
