That sounds absolutely awful. I would suggest calling them back again to see - perhaps the operator had mistyped something? I had a CR-1 visa, and was able to track my progress through the CEAC website; maybe you can check on there to see?

Can you not visit him while the K3 is processing?

I'm in the same boat, and have been informed that it would be fine for visits, whilst waiting for the pending visa...as long as the stay does not go beyond the entitlement. For example, I'd be travelling from UK to US, and each visit allows for a maximum of 90 days under the ESTA rules - but if you stay for the full 90 days, you won't be able to enter the US again for the next 6 months. Not sure how this fares with visa applications, so I'd recommend not risking the full duration

I know it is tough, stick with route you are on. The I129F, when filed for a K3 visa path, rarely results in a visa these days. It is slow, expensive and doesn't yield any significant results

You say that it is taking longer than you thought, you just filed on July 8 how long did you expect it to take? Realistic expectations will save you a LOT of stress.

Yeah, we now realise that our expectations were unrealistic! We had hoped to be together by Christmas, but I suppose that is only if the process is super fast, and nothing goes wrong right?

Just wondering if anyone can share their opinions on the K-3 visa? We've started the process of the I-130 for spouse, but it appears to be taking longer that we had both initially anticipated. I've read on the USCIS website, that we can apply for a K-3 visa, and that means I can join my husband in the mean time. However, having read discussions here, it seems that the K-3 visa is extremely expensive overall (including the AOS), and may take just as long as the I-130.

Also, would I be able to visit America whilst the visas are pending?

Any knowledge or advice would be really helpful. I miss my husband so much...we're currently apart due to work commitments, but by August, I'll be free to join him, and want this to happen as soon as possible.

So glad to hear that you got your NOA1 already! We filed for ours at Chicago on the 8th July, and are still awaiting to hear back...the time apart really hurts

We've sent ours in to the Chicago Lockbox via courier mail on 8th July, and it arrived at 08:25 the next morning, but we're still waiting for confirmation of acceptance. Does anyone know how long that might take?
