  1. Hey everyone,

I received my EAD back in July and applied for a SSN. Received it within a week, no problems at all except when I was trying to get bills in my name my SSN kept saying it was invalid. I put this down to not having any credit history attached to my SSN. I received my greencard last month. Went to the SSN office to lift the conditions a couple of weeks ago and thought this would be a quick and easy process like it was the first time I applied. Spent about 30 mins with a confused looking worker, he said that the INS had not updated my details and that my maiden name was in the system and not my married name and he had to change this. He said it could take up to 4 weeks to receive the card. The thing is, when I applied for my SSN the first time it was in my married name NOT my maiden name and my card had my married name on it. He also took the card from me. Has anyone had a similar issue? Also, I am applying for jobs at the moment. Will my SSN number be the same as before or will it change? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Hi everyone,

I have tried using my SSN number for setting up internet in our new place and also to get a cellphone but it keeps coming back as invalid! I've had my SSN card for about 6 weeks now, applied for it when I received my EAD. I am waiting on my greencard at the moment to get the status changed as right now it says 'valid for work only with DHS authorization'. Has anyone else had this issue? It's starting to get frustrating!

    Thanks!

  3. Hi Everyone,

We received an RFE for the I-485, we mailed back the response and it was delivered on 5th June. So far, we have not received any online update on the case tracker to say that the RFE was received, the case tracker still shows as the RFE being sent. Just wondering....the 60 days USCIS usually gives to respond once they have received the evidence, is this from the time they update their online case tracker as being in RFE Response Review or is it 60 days since they physically received the response? Really, what I'm asking is should I expect to receive a response by early August?

    Thanks

  4. Hi everyone,

I am starting to get concerned as we have an RFE which was received by USCIS on 6/5/14 but no online update at all, it still says the Request for Evidence. The EAD/AP is still in Initial Review. Am really itching to get back to work! Has anyone had a similar problem where the online tracking system does not update?

Also, my original biometrics date was on 5/13/14 but I have very feint fingerprints and had to have them redone. I had them redone on 6/20/14 and have not heard anymore so hopefully they were able to process them this time! On the letter that said I had to have them redone it only listed the I-485 as being on hold, not the I-765, but on the original biometrics letter it said it was for both the I-485 and the I-765 so will my EAD further be delayed because of biometrics problem?

Can anyone advise as to when I can expect to receive my EAD?

    Thanks!
