Mine came in fairly fast. About a month I believe.

Next update will be "Issued"
Congrats!

They should already have all that kind of information regarding your dad from your DS-160.... I would call the Embassy letting them know that the clock is ticking and you are very concerned about your status since you have already provided them with the information needed. Don't just wait for them. It happened to me too, but it was on an immigrant visa... The embassy kinda forgot what they were doing and I ended up spending more time in my home country after the interview than needed. Thus, I would definitely advise you to get in touch with them.

Congratulations! It is much better to go the legal way for the long run! But, yeah, it really depends on who interviews you. Glad everything worked out for you.
-
Depends on the Embassy. All the visas I've received haven't taken longer than a week at the most - usually less. Congratulations!
-
Depends from State to State (sometimes Colleges as well). Mine let me stay for an extra 60 days.
-
As long as your I-20 is still valid and you are not 'out os status' you shouldn't have any issues renewing your visa.
-
Add the University address! I've never had an issue by doing so. Embassies are aware of such things, so you shouldn't have any issues; I never did.
-
Your school official can renew your I-20. In order to renew your visa in your home country you'd need a new I-20, anyways. I'd wait it out if I were you since you don't really have any sort of proof of OPT/ EAD card/ Green card.

Spanish would have been easier to substitute instead of Arabic...
-
For them to produce the card it usually takes two weeks. Mine came in within a week or two at the latest as it states on the letter they gave you the day you applied for it.
-
Yes, that happened to me too, but make sure you ATTEND the appointment because if you do not it means you want them to cancel the case. NOT GOOD!
-
This happened to me as well. My brother was supposed to walk me down the aisle and he applied twice and both times he had more than enough evidence in his hands, but he was discriminated for being a 22 year old male with no wife, kids, and a house under his name ( even though he has a job). I even called the National Visa Center and the Embassy in DC to make sure he had all the "proof" docs they would like to see and the Embassy in Greece still refused him a visa (We even had a letter from the Congressman representing Colorado). I emailed the Embassy and all I got was "Sorry, he did not qualify" , but they'd never give me a straight up answer as to WHY. So, yeah. Never make plans such as buying tickets because it really depends on how that consular is feeling that day.
-
Once you receive package 3 or 4? It really depends on the Embassy. The one in Greece for example is the one I went through and they sent me package 3 and I had to mail everything required on package 3 to them and then they called me to schedule an interview date and a couple days later they emailed me package 4. So it really depends on the Embassy.
Good luck!

1. You have to mention any middle / high school and college you have attended
2. There is a box that says "does not apply" I think. If not you can leave it blank
3. Well WHERE will you be staying? That's a question you will be asked by the consular anyways. If it is at a hotel, write out the address and such.
4. Well just write your duties
5. Well, being able to just as much money as you want from your father doesn't look that great because it seems like your ties to your home country aren't as strong. They tend to enjoy seeing "salary" so they don't have to worry about you working under the table while you're in the States or overstaying your visa and immigrating here.
Good luck to you!

There are forms in Chinese before you enter the customs waiting line.

As an F1 student you can work on campus, part time, as a student hourly. The downside to that is that there are NOT too many slots since colleges mostly hire students through financial aid which you do not qualify for. So your best shot is POSSIBLY finding a student hourly slot at your school (ask at the school library and bookstore). As far as your wife is concerned is suggest that she files for an F2. As everyone else has stated, someone has to sponsor her and that would be quite tough.
I worked at the bookstore of my college as an F1 student so I'm talking from experience.

Why don't you enter on a J1 and just stay after you're done with your vacation so you can start your studies? The best thing you can do is call the POE of the airport you're going to enter or the U.S. Embassy of your country. They will tell you what your best shot is.
-
Depends what service center your case was forwarded to. Ours went through the California one and it took 40 days to get approved.
-
It has to be done at home country at an embassy.
Also, I'd put single or engaged considering you're about to get married.
-
Actually no that wouldn't affect Her current or future visa statuses. U.S. law protects such victims. Report it to USCIS and your local police department asap.

It varies from country to country. In my case (Greece) I had to wait for packet 4, which includes interview letter along with the medical one) to get my medical done. The embassy here calls you in order to schedule your interview date and then they email you packet four. In my case, this was the order/dates of the events.
Mailed required documents of packet 3 via DHL to Embassy: December 1
Embassy called to schedule interview: December 16
Received Packet 4: December 22
Medical: January 13
Penal record: January 13
Interview : January 27
I'd just wait for a week or two at the most and if you don't hear from them you could just email or call them asking about it hope this helps!

POE's tend to not let people enter the US while their petitions are still going through processing. At least that is what I was told from USCIS.

Well, actually when you do get your approval notice, it DOES say that the notice itself isn't a work authorization and without the card, technically on hand, you aren't eligible to work.
