  1. To answer my own question in Argentina you must have the "Acta/Partida" de Matrimonio, and not the "certificado". For us on our wedding day the civil registry only gave us the little blue marriage book and the "certificado" de matrimonio. We had to go back to where we were married and pay 40 pesos to get a certified copy of the actual "Acta" de matrimonio. We also had to go get it legalized.

We passed the interview but they wouldn't issue the visa until we returned with the Acta de matrimonio. One day after the interview we returned with the Acta, legalized with a photocopy and now, I assume they will now begin processing the visa which should be available in a couple of weeks.

  2. We have our embassy interview scheduled for tomorrow and I thought I had everything in order. Everything was accepted by NVC and our interview scheduled. However I received an email from the embassy which said they don't accept certificados de matrimonio, only acta de matrimonio.

Now we are getting nervous because there is now no way we can get the acta de matrimonio before our interview. We have the certificado de matrimonio, and it was legalized here in the capital Buenos Aires because we got married in the Provence of Buenos Aires.

Does anyone know if we will have a problem with only having the certificado de matrimonio and not the acta de matrimonio? I'm a little upset because throughout this whole process I thought the certificado de matrimonio was good, and then on the Friday before the interview they send an email about only accepting the acta.

  3. I've been planning on mailing via FedEx both AOS and IV packets together however I recently saw on NVC website that if your case number begins with BNS (buenos aires) you can either use email or mail.

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with this here in Argentina? Email would save me a lot of money and time, and i figure it would be the better choice rather than regular mail.

    Thanks

  4. I was just curious to see if it is still alright to have submitted my tax information for three most recent years, 2013-2011 and all years I filed single, I was married in 2014 so it wouldn't make much since to have filed those as married. But the instructions on the Nvc guide now say you must file as married? Am I right in assuming I'm fine with filing single for those years I was actually single?

  5. Found this online about Argentina police certificate,

    Police Records

All applicants over the age of sixteen must have a police certificate from Argentina.

You must obtain the nationally produced "Certificado de Antecedentes Penales" issued by the "Registro Nacional de Reincidencia" of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Human Rights at Tucumán 1353, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires.

The petition must specifically mention that the certificate is requested "con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal".

For further information, please contact the above mentioned office by phone: 4374-5611/ 12/ 13. or visit the web site where you will find additional information at: http://www.dnrec.jus.gov.ar/Atencion_Particular.aspx

Still not sure what to put under para ser presentado ante??
