Alhamdillah you got lucky. My case was also in Cairo and still no appointment. I've been here for almost 3 months. I'm surprised they transferred your case without your family in Djibouti. You must be the first this has happened to.
  2. our interview was supposed to be in Cairo. The case was originally sent from NVC to Egypt. I was planning to fly to Egypt to apply for my family's security clearance when suddenly the case status was updated and the status changed from Ready to Transfer in Progress.after 2 days we got the interview email. I am assuming that the transfer was done sometime ago but the case status was not updated. the case has been in Egypt for about 5 weeks.

    hope that would help

Is your family in Djibouti? If so when did they get here
  3. One more question. How long does it take to get the medical exam results in Djibouti? Has anyone did the medical exam at Dr. Nicolas Georgalis and how long did they have to wait for appointment and results?.

The Embassy's website states that it may take between 2 to 3 weeks for the results. my wife just got an interview appointment in 2 weeks.

we have not even asked for the case to be transferred to Djibouti. but then 2 days ago, the case status show that the case is being transferred from Cairo and today we got an email with an interview date!

    Best wishes for everyone

From what I hear after you do the exam they send it to the embassy for you. I hear it's done weekly so you should be find. How did you get an appointment that quick? I've been waiting for over a month for my appointment in Djibouti. My case is been here since July 2nd. Can you give me details on your case please? Thanks
  4. My case has been ready in Djibouti since April 29th, but when I contact the embassy they say that it is just the electronic file and that the physical file is still in Cairo. My case has two entries one showing ready in Djibouti and one that used to say ready in Cairo but on the 16th of July the status changed to "Transfer In Progress". The case was updated again on the 20th but the status didn't change. I was wondering if anybody is in the same situation.

Are you saying your case said it was ready in Djibiuti in April? And now it says in transfer in progress? I'm April while it said ready did it have a cro or dji behind the case number ? You just confused me.

My case was accepted to transfer to Djibouti on 5-29 and on 6-8 it showed transfer in progress and on 7-2 it showed ready and it starts with SAA and ends with DJI. I hope this helps you and off you can answer my questions thanks in advance

  5. Adam

Was ur case ytc or Saa my case is ytc and I have been here since May 26 and my case is still in Cairo. When I contact the nvc, they say the transfer is in the order recieved. It seems you got lucky with your case.

My case is SAA. The transfer got accepted in May 29th and it got to Djibouti July 2nd. I wouldn't say I'm lucky yet. I been here for over 2 months and still no appointment. My friends came after me and left before me Cause there cases were at nvc. The embassy here is very inconsiderate. I wouldn't be so upset if they communicated with us with all honesty. Some of us have job and I would like to have a real estimated time of completion. They forget were Americans and they work for us.
  6. Our appointment is in the first week of Aug. But what I don't understand is that you said ur case arrived here in early July. You shudve gotten an interview appointment after a week, at most.

Have you tried contacting them or going to the Embassy? A few ppl we know were in kinda the same situation. They're cases arrived but they received blank emails from the Embassy and they were about to miss they're appointments had they waited without contacting the Embassy.

I've sent over 10 emails to the counselor and the embassy. The response I get are the automated ####### that doesn't even apply to me. I called and left messages but nobody returns my calls. Somebody told me they spoke to the embassy and they said there doing cases in order in which they were received. Hopefully that's true. But I've lost faith in our government immigration system. They don't even communicate with us to give us alottle piece of mind. There's a lot of people that came in same time I did so for now I'm keeping In touch with them so we know if we get missed
  7. My case number is YTC and my case was accepted to be transferred on May 28. I waited and waited and NVC kept telling me the same thing. That my case was going to be transferred even tho it was already in Cairo.

I got tired of their games so I contacted my congressman, and had my dad go see her in person. We explained everything to her, she called up the NVC and had it transferred that same week. Now, Alhamdulillah my case in Djibouti, and I have an appointment in Aug for my husband's interview.

Contact ur congressman and if ur able to go to their office, go. Wallah it helped me and I'm sure they will help u. InshaAllah everyone here gets appointments soon.

When did the applicant arrive in Djibouti ?

When did your case become ready in Djibouti?

    Thanks

  8. Been a whlile since I posted anything on here so here's my update.

My case went from nvc to Cairo in April. That was before Egypt started requiring a visa. Then I decided to go to Djibouti and transfer my case there. I met my wife at the port on of Djibouti may 20th. We gave the U.S. immigration officer our case number to transfer our case to Djibouti. June 8th I get an email that my case transfer was accepted on May 29th. When I check my status it said transfer in progress on June 8th. Then June 12 it updates again they put a DJI behind my case number. Then finally on July 2nd it showed ready. And since then no updates no appointment. I sent them many emails and phone calls they never answer my question and give me a auto reply email saying a bunch of ####### that doesn't apply to me. This is ridiculous on there email it says it takes 7 days to review a case and issue an appointment. There so full of #######. Hopefully this helps somebody

  9. Just so everybody knows they keep changing the way they do things in Djibouti daily. It's keeps getting better. They don't care for entry visas anymore and you give them your case number and name and they request the transfer from either a embassy or nvc. Yemeni citizens automatically get expedited. The living conditions here are horrible. Hot and expensive and you cant even find a place to live. Plan ahead if you decide to go

  10. Thanks for replying...do u know how long it takes to go from the Nvc to the embassy? I want to expedite my case again and inshallah they accept it this time. My husband just went to Djibouti and he hasn't told me how his journey went but Does anyone know if I can still expedite his case because if the war in yemen even though he's already at Djibouti????

I don't have the answers for Djibouti my wife is on her way there and I'm meeting her there. Once she gets there then I will request a transfer from Cairo to Djibouti. They won't accept til she arrives and gets her visa stamped and then take a picture of it and send it to nvc and they should expedite it. If anyone's know how I can get an apartment please let me know thanks

  11. My husband left from Ibb to Almakha it was about a 5 hour drive . He got to Almakha booked a hotel for the night. In the morning he went to this office where you pay for your ticket. He paid 18,000 Yemeni riyal. He waited for his passport to be stamped. After he got his exit visa stamped they waited until everybody gathered then they were allowed on the boat. The boat was in good condition. He got on the boat and they started sailing after Isha. He got to Djibouti and was kept at the port and was not allowed to get out without a sponsor. He was left in this room with a couple of fans and a lot of people crowded inside. He was there for 2 days because they dont work Fridays and he arrived Thursday at night. So on Saturday someone came and got him out he paid $100 for the visa and $250 for the man sponsoring him. He left after that and went the next day to get his passport.

Thank you for the reply. Where is the office you booked your trip from. Do you have a number ? Thanks again
