  1. What if yOu have exposure to someone with TB? Does that make a difference in what tests they do, or how they handle your case? Would it cause a several week or month delay?

  2. I read on the US Em Mnl website that the medical should be done 1 week before the interview. Anyone have experience with the timing of the medical?

Also, will SLEC do the exam if you don't have an interview appt yet?

I saw an online appointment scheduler for the med exam. Has anyone tried this?

  3. I'm also preparing an I-864 on behalf of my husband.

I will be filing 1040s for the past 3 years in preparation for this. I have been living abroad for more than a decade and have very little income (less than $1500/year), so i am not required to file a tax return according to the IRS website and 1040 instructions, but will do so for the sake of the I-864.

My question is this: can i submit a copy of my 1040 for the I-864, or do i need to have some sort of documentation/receipt from the IRS that i filed my taxes?

I've tried to file online, but it seems that my situation is not compatible with online forms.

If i file through mail, how long will it take to get a response from the IRS?

Btw, i have a joint sponsor who will also file the I-864.

    THANKS!

  4. Hello, elv! I have the same question. What do we do next?

Some info on the Embassy's website says that all documents must be sent to NVC prior to the interview...but there was no instruction as to that effect in Packet 3. I emailed the immigrant visa desk at the embassy, but haven't received a reply.

There is a number to call to schedule an appointment at the bottom of Packet 3, or through a website. I tried to schedule through the website, but it said no appointments were available, yet it showed next available appointment as July 3.

Anyone out there with recent DCF experience in Manila?

    Help!
