I see, looks like local offices all have different ways to do interview. Did they ask for more ongoing joint docs?

Yes. She asked me if we brought any joint docs so i gave her car title, joint credit card, joint bank account, 4 different bills with both names on them, i placed them on the table she glanced at them but she didnt make any copies of them. And yes every office must be different in they way they conduct their interviews as I didnt expect to be sepparated and interviewed separately even though it wasnt for a long time. If that what it takes than i am glad since my journey is finally over I got an email this morning that my oath has been scheduled and will be receiving a letter in the mail with the specifics.

Congrats! Did you have a combo interview? How long was it? Did they adjudicate I 751 first?

How long did it take from your interview date to approval?

    Thank you!

Yes we did have a combo interview. I brought my wife with me. Asked a few questions than the officer escorted me out and asked my wife a few questions for 7-8 min tops. Than she brought me in and asked me a few questions for another 5 min or so. The officer told us from the beginning that local office would need to adjudecate I751 first. So after she was satisfied asking  for about 5 min about our marriage she than said we will procee to the N400 part. Asked me about 6 questions as I remember and wrote a simple question down. After she was done typing notes she handed me a letter that said a decision can not be made yet and that i did pass the N400 test. I asked her politely what does this mean she said that this is normal process. So about three weeks from the interview date I received an email at dhs.gov site that my i751 was approved and about a week after that received the notice in the mail. Currently waiting for the oath to be scheduled.

    Congrats.

Thank you so much. Got an email earlier today that my oath has been scheduled and will be receiving a letter statting date time and place for the oath to take. I would say to everyone hang in there, the end of journey is near. To those considering to apply for N400 i would say go for it and do it online for a speedy process. God speed everyone!

Congrats! Your case sounds little bit different.

Mose cases are approved on the spot, and will be no production of the card. Did they advise you the reason why they couldn't make decision on Aug 21?

Is it because they didn't have I 751 files on hand back then? Did they mention anything about your N400 oath?

Hello and thank you. No they weren't specific on why they couldn't approve it on the spot. I did not want to be to "pushy" so i politely asked why and as told its a process and she would not be able to to approve the n400 until they approve I751 first. Every office might handle it different. Often from my research the officer needs the supervisor to look at the file prior to official approval. One case on here had an experience where after the combo interview they sent the I751 file to NBC for approval from local office and within a few weeks they got their approval. I havent been scheduled for oath yet. will update once that happen.

  5. Hello everyone. I finally got some excellent long awaited news. My i751 was approved. Here is my brief timeline

    Filed january 27 2017

Did biometrics about a month later.

Until march of this year there were no updated no my case, no RFE or mail from USCIS. In march i got the case received by local office glitch update like a lot of people on here. Never received an actual letter in the mail though. So to clear confusion i got an infopass to local office and was lucky to talk to an excellent polite USCIS officer. He explained that my case is still in CSC and that service center is really backlogged so he encouraged me to apply for the N400.

So April 25 under the the three year rule i applied for the N400 ONLINE. I have to say that i am very impressed with speed of process for the N400. Within a few weeks I received the notice for biometrics which went pretty smooth. ON july 2nd i received a letter for the interview appointment for the N400 for August 20th. There was no requirement on the notice for me to bring my wife to the interview. So I did a judgement call and brought my wife with me. After a long wait since there were a LOT of people waiting for the N400 at my local office we were called in. Placed under oath we sat down and the officer explained that she would be adjudicating I751 first. She asked me a few basic questions than said to escort me to the waiting room so she could ask my wife a few questions. I probably waited no longer than 10 min when the officer escorted my wife out and called me back in. She proceded to ask questions about i751 mostly about our relationship, the history of us, work ect. Probably no longer than 10 min. After she said we can proceed for the N400. Asked a few question, wrote a sentence and she said I passed. At the end she handed me a letter that had 2 boxes checked, one said i passed the test, the other one said a decission about your case can not be made yet. Disappointed but politely asked what does that mean. She basically said a decission about the N400 can not be made until the I751 is approved. I thank her for a explanation. So after three weeks the dhs.gov site updated that case is approved and card is in production as two separate updates . Uscis.gov site is still not updated. So after this long and very stressful journey I can have a sigh of relief. Will update more when I receive something official in the mail. I know a lot of people here are still waiting, please have faith and patience the finishline is near. I tried to provide as much detail as I remember as I know this website has been very therapeutic and supportive to me by reading other people experiences. Yesterday I received the letter of approval in the mail

Question for Shell since you have been approved.

Does it show it on the website ? or you get the letter and the only update you saw was the one that says Card in production . and then we sent you your card.

Im asking because apparently the person who has 26th february then march 5th... got the approval in the mail... but no update on the website.

Im thinking.. maybe I should start checking out my mailbox......

Thank you all for sharing all the comments, it's always nice to read all your posts and we feel united. Bless y'all.

Hi there. Do you know who on here is the one that got the approval after the file moved to local office march 5th? VSC or CSC. I ask because i am on the same boat. My case was moved to local office on feb 26 amd than when i checked yesterday it said march 4th. This whole process is confusing. Thank you for all you share on here.

  7. Mine also said march 4th when i checked it yesterday. I am thinking the date doesnt indicate a thing because i think its interesting that the date when you check online is tglhe date that supposedly was transferred to local office. I found it interesting from the start when any changes regarding out cases should be reffered to the WAC receipt we got for the biometrics. This just doesnt adf up for me

    Hi everyone,

I had my I-751 interview today and my permanent green card got approved! They said that I should get the card in mail within the next 30 days! The interview went fine, we thought we were prepared but we were asked a lot of questions which we didn't prepare for! All in all it was good since we didn't really have anything to hide!

    Thats awesome. Congrats ZeeQ

Interviews for people who filed in July 2016? Usually they don't schedule interviews so late in the process, thats the norm at least.

I was thinking if they see something wrong they would schedule an interview in advance.

Either way, we should get our approvals by April-May next year.

Absolutely ridiculous USCIS process, so much backlog, just one year has made so much difference.

Very confusing how they proceed with interviews. ZeeQ from  our group january 2017 fillers had an interview scheduled recently so its interesting timeline to say the least

Thanks VeraBradley! I'm hoping it all goes smoothly! It's scheduled for 8/29

Congrats ZeeQ. I look at this on a positive side.  I think you will be approved first in our humble group on here. Get all the proof you can and you will be allright. After the interview they have to make the decision fairly quick where  most of us seems will wait a long time for any type of action. Dont look at you interview as it had to be a flag somewhere, could be random, no one knows for sure. Just prepare best you can. Did they update your status online yet? I wish you best of luck. I am sure you will do awesome
