  1. Hi all

    just a quick check...

The ds-260 confirmation that is requested to bring to the interview, is this just the email that i would have got after submitting the ds-260 online? The email says 'immigrant visa and alien registration application confirmation' , it then goes on to give confirmation of receipt of the application and instructions for next steps...at the bottom of the page it states my name and case number etc...

It may sound like a silly question but just want to make sure i'm taking all of the correct documentation...

    Thanks :)

  2. Thanks for that, the UK interview forum was really helpful. I'm glad I looked because on all of my paperwork it just says take the ds 260 confirmation to the interview, but it seems most people were asked to shiw their ds 260 application.

Ill have to print it off just hope it doesn't mess anything up when I go into it since it has already been submitted...

    Thank you!

Go over to the UK forum they have great pinned informationals about interviews and such.

  3. Hi all,

Any feedback on this from anyone?

    Thanks

    Hey all,

Got my interview next week. Just getting all my docs together, don't want to miss anything!!

I sent mostly originals of all my civil docs to the nvc...so do I just take photocopies to the interview (since they will have my originals in hand!)

Any other advice of what extra docs to take would beg realty appreciated! Been reading lots of posts on here and already got most of it figured...just want to make sure I have too much rather than not enough.

One thing I wanted to take was a copy of he completed ds260...but I don't think I can access and print it anymore since it is already completed...hope that won't be a problem!

    Thanks

  5. Thank you. Yes approved and visa in hand, poe a week Tuesday. Yes all you need is pcc and photos, either size but less than 6 months old.

congratulations, thats great news!! Thanks for the help.

    Good Luck with everything else!

    Hi

Does anyone know how important the address is on your police certificate..

Got my medical tomorrow morning and just realised that my police certificate has my old address on as i moved house a few weeks ago...

I'm going to take proof of previous and new address, but i'm just worried that my house move will cause problems!

    Thanks

  6. Thank you. Yes, good idea. Gives you breathing space. And good luck back at ya. The medical is a doddle so long as you don't mind getting your kit off ;) and the x ray guy is super nice, you can keep your gown on in front of him. My doctor was the South African lady and she was lovely. Remember it's just a job to them and when it's over your another step closer to your loved one :)

Hi CathyMac - how did the interview go??? hope you're all approved and sorted by now :)

My medical tomorrow eekk - just making sure i have all my documents with me. Did you take any NVC letters with you to the medical? or just your police report and passport?

    Thanks

  7. I'm sure it'll be fine, it only needs 5 days to get to the embassy but it won't be sent until after the second day when they have your blood results back. I would call Knightsbridge and ask if you've left enough time tbh. Also, if there are any issues, like high blood pressure or ticking a box that you haven't got a letter about from your gp, they will ask you to get a letter from your gp and fax it to them. And in my case, and that of a friend, the gp took almost two weeks to get the stuff to Knightsbridge. They won't send the results to the embassy until they get that. And you will be in AP until they receive it. They won't deny you if you have the receipt and are waiting results. The long and short of it is why I did mine early, lol. I had high BP through nerves and got it checked two days later and it was fine x

hmm, yeah, ill call in the morning and change it to the week before, just to be sure! you must be so excited for your interview...good luck!

  8. You don't have to take everything again. What you need most is passport, 2 2x2 photos, interview letter, ds260 confirmation page and courier instructions. However, most people do take original copies of everything submitted to nvc, just in case they get 'ahem' lost in transit. I plan to, plus a printed out copy of the Aos.

Thanks very much Cathymac! Good luck for your interview, you'll have to let me know how it goes!

I have booked my medical for the 28th (1 week before the interview on the 9th) do you think that's enough time?? It seemed like you did yours much earlier!

    Thanks

  9. Hey, just got interview confirmation, 9th December, yeyy!!

A little confused by the interview letter though. It says that I need to take all originals to interview including husbands (sponsor) tax returns etc, but then further down on the documents section where it gives the letter coded key It says that they have sent my documents to the embassy in the UK. So do I have to take everything AGAIN? Just want to make sure I take everything needed.

    Thanks !

  10. Hi,

Just checked he website this morning and be AOS fee has changed from PAID to N/A...does this always mean CC or can it mean just reviewed with checklist? Don't want to get my hopes up...can't wait to call and check on Monday!

Also, after a successful interview does anyone know how long approx it takes to get the visa through the post...trying to work out if I can still make it for Xmas!!

    Thanks

  11. Hey all,

I am currently waiting for review of my AOS and IV docs. AOS scanned date 21st aug, IV scan date 8th Oct. I called NVC yesterday and they confirmed that they will only review the documents together. Very frustrating! I was wondering if anyone knows if you have to wait for cc before going ahead and booking the medical? Or can I go ahead and book it regardless right now? I'm just trying to speed up the process.

    Thanks

  12. Hi guys, any ideas on the below queries?

Got our IV fee invoice yesterday, DS-261 receipt date was 13th aug.....

    Thanks

    Hi

DS-261 & AOS submitted 13th August, just waiting for the IV fee to be invoiced then we can move along in this process...its been a very long, tiring, and quiet month!

I have a question about the ds-260, i am assuming it asks for your employers name and address, do nvc actually contact your employer? reason i'm asking is that i wasn't planning on telling my employer that i'll be leaving until a much later date!

Also, my passport is almost full, only 1 page remaining. Does anyone know if this will be an issue at the interview stage or had any experience with this before? I didn't want to get a new passport as then the passport numbers wont match our application...

    Thanks!

  15. Yep! If you read Saylin's wiki (first post in this thread and in her signature), it details everything that's included in the AOS and IV package.

When you get your police certificate, make a copy of it as you'll need to take that with you to your medical, too. Send the original to NVC with your IV.

    Thank you! That's great help.

Hmmm...some of these documents are duplicated from what has already been sent...for the lV package it says to send original or certified marriage certificate - but we already sent one with I130 - I'm assuming we'll need to send another one??

    Thanks for the help!

  16. Yes, there is! Take these next few weeks to get your AOS documents together and forms completed now. The last thing you want to do is wait until it's ready and then rush through it as then you risk getting a silly check list and setting yourself back 6 weeks.

thank you! ill get started on the AOS docs then. I also just sent off for my police background check as I think I may need that further down the line?

    :)
