  2. Hi everyone,

I am shaking, I have CC!!!!! My SD for a checklist was May 12...I haven't seen the 3 N/As and since today is day 31, I decided to call the NVC where the agent confirmed CC was on June 10 and now I just have to wait for the Embassy to schedule the interview. So it was 29 days total.

I have been stuck in this horrible process since June 2014, so I know how frustrating it can be. Just stay strong and I hope more than anything that you all will see an end to this soon!!! If you're getting close to 30 days, call! Obviously I wouldn't have known anything since I never saw the 3 N/As.

Will update once I hear about the interview although I think Madrid is slow moving...

  3. I'm also under review right now. I submitted the DS-260 about a week before the IV package was reviewed, but then I got a checklist saying we need to turn in the DS-260. I called NVC to clarify since it was submitted and he told me that even though the email confirming receipt of the DS-260 says 30 days, it may take over 30, but less than 60 days for them to review it.

I called on day 37 to get an update and the girl said since it has been over 30 days, they'll send it to a supervisor for review but to email a copy of the DS-260 confirmation email to the general "asknvc" email address which she said would be helpful. The whole thing was a little confusing, so I thought I'd try to talk to another agent a few days later. He said that the supervisor's review can take up to 42 days! I've only hit the one week point, but I'm getting really anxious.

Please keep me updated on your case and how long it takes to review.

Also, spousevisaUSA- wonderful work on your blog! Great to read about another experience in Spain.

  4. Gracias!

Yeah, I got the booster and the serology at my regular Centro de Salud. Just tell him to get an appointment with his "médico de cabecera" and they will arrange everything! Good luck!

Great to know it can all be done through the public system. The booster is not too expensive at the Unidad Médica but getting it for free is even better, especially since he needs the serology too.

Best of luck with your new life in the US!

  5. Hola!

I was approved! It really was an easy and smooth experience...

I had my appointment at 12PM and I arrived at the embassy at 11:30. There were 2 ladies outside "helping" and they requested my P4 letter. After I gave it to them, they went to the security guard and tell him our names. They opened the door, took my phone and made me go through the security scan. Then I was told to go to the waiting room. On the way there you can find a couple of photo booth machines so you can get ID pictures.

When you arrive to the first room another security guard will tell you to get a number from the machine and continue to the actual waiting room. It's a big room where there are multiple interview desks. There are some vending machines, restrooms and chairs where you can wait till they call your number on a screen. For IV there were only 2 appointments before me so I only had to wait 20 minutes. They called my name and this very nice lady requested my passport, took my fingerprints and went through my file checking that everything was fine. She verify my courier and contact information. I asked her to update my "previous travel information" in the DS-260 and she said to not worry about it because they were minimum changes. She asked for the sealed envelope with the medical information and she added it to the file. I had some AOS updated information so I gave it to her and she gave me the old documents. Everything else was fine and she didn't ask for any other document not even the ID pictures (I could see they had the one I submitted with the I-130 file). Then she told me to wait for them to call me again for the actual interview.

I had to wait another 20-30 minutes till they called my number again. This time there was a nice man who seemed to be in a rush (friendly though). He checked my fingerprints to verify it was really me and he started asking questions. He didn't even told me to do the sworn thing lol. He asked three questions: "how did we meet", "what does my wife do" and "where are we going to live". He said everything was fine, I was approved and I will get my passport with the visa in a week.

Time to prepare for the big change!

Enhorabuena! That's fantastic news! I am so glad it went well for you and that you'll shortly be reunited with your wife, it must feel great!

Thanks for the detailed interview info. I've been to the Embassy before to get some extra pages in my passport, and I think it was the in the same room you described.

Also, thanks for the medical information. Did you just go to your regular Centro de Salud to get the Td/Tdap booster and the serology? It looks like my husband also needs the booster since his last was in 2003. He's also in his late 20s, so the only thing he needs based on age is MMR which he has.

  6. Mccartna, I have a question about the medical. Were you missing any vaccinations? I know there are a few that are required in the US but not Europe. Also, I am sure my husband had chickenpox as a kid and the vaccine against them didn't even exist when he was a child. Did they require anything on your part?

I don't know if it'd be worth getting a blood test for antibodies in advance to prove the missing vaccinations...he has almost all of them, but I can't find anything in his records about hep A+B.

  7. The one time I called to ask about my scan date, the lady said "we go by the received date" from the email.

I've seen someone from Spain here who sent his AOS/IV packages, then he really took his time to do the 260 form, from what I recall his docs were reviewed within 60 days but he got a checklist because the 260 was not updated in the system when the packages were reviewed.

I think you're referring to me? Yes, I did take a long time with the DS-260 not realizing it needed to be done so far in advance. I thought as long as it's submitted before the IV package was reviewed it'd be ok, they'd just review it all at the same time. I know, not too smart looking back.

However, they did review my IV package on its own right on the 60 day mark. I did get a checklist for it saying I need to submit my 260 even though technically it was submitted.

I spoke to a really nice agent and he said everything is reviewed but the 260 which takes between 30-60 days to review. Once it's reviewed I'll be CC. He also said I'd have to make a huge mistake on the 260 for it not to be cleared since you can make changes at the Embassy if need be.

  8. Hi everyone. Well good and bad news.

The bad is that I got a checklist this afternoon (dated yesterday) via email that said I was missing the DS-260 which I submitted about a week ago. I'm dumb and didn't realize that it also has a certain time frame to be reviewed. I thought it was just reviewed with your packets as long as it was submitted before the 60 days or that they would at least give a CC and set up an interview a little later once reviewed.

I called the NVC and got cut off twice (I was calling from a phone app since I'm abroad) but I did get far enough for one agent to tell me that I now have to wait 60 days for DS-260 to be reviewed, however the confirmation email I got after submitting the DS-260 says 30 days. I'm hoping for 30!

The good news is that she said it looks like the IV and AOS packages have been cleared! That's a huge relief!

Let's hope that's all it is and I'm not missing any docs! I didn't get far enough to see if I need to reply formally to the checklist or just wait for them to clear the DS-260 and hopefully get a CC. I will call back on Monday, but does anyone have ideas?

Good luck to everyone! Jealous of all the CCs and kicking myself because this was something easy that I could have submitted a while ago! Oh, well. You live and learn I suppose.

  9. me too! 12/4.. why are we left out?

Being optimistic, maybe there are just different agents working at different times. They jumped from 12/2 yesterday to 12/8 today, so you'd think if it was going in order we'd also hear about some of those in between dates. As I posted earlier, I saw a 12/3 with a CC two days before the 12/2 which also doesn't make sense.

Being pessimistic (sorry!), I'm worried I have a checklist. Today is my 60 day mark so things are looking even worse for me.

Just stay positive and keep checking the website! I check about 30 times a day and jump every time I get a new email on my phone!

  10. Great News!!!!! I've got my CC today!!!! I saw 3 N/A today and just talked to a rep to confirm it.

Scan date: Dec 2nd, CC: Jan 29th. It took 59 days for me. YOU ARE NEXT, ivy75!

Anyway, that's a great system you have there in Spain. It was really hard.... a lot of depressing moments..But my husband has been working really hard to save up money for our future and I'v been dealing with this visa application pretty much by myself since i have more time than him. We kept ourselves busy like that.

Now I can see the end of this journey! Thank you for your thought!!

I hope you get CC really really soon!!

CONGRATS!!!! So, so excited for you! Hopefully they'll get you an appointment right away!

Just checked online and still no N/A, so I've got a feeling that means a checklist....

Best of luck with the interview and the move to the US! I will keep you posted about mine.

  11. Yea....the blizzard... now they have more excuses for the delay of reviewing the cases.

I thought that could be it too, but the person I know didn't have any checklist before and got CC 2 weeks ago. Really strange, right? I understand that if that's the case, it cannot be helped..

We'll never be able to know how they handle everything unless you we talk to a supervisor and ask him/her probably.. Oh well.

Oh ok. So you are living with your spouse outside the U.S. now huh? Good for you... at least you have your partner next to you to go through this process. In my case, my husband lives in the U.S. and I live in Japan. It's been almost a year since we are apart because of this process and I really want my case to be completed.

I'm actually doing the same thing!!! Logging in the website multiple times a day. Nice! I hope we both see the magical 3 N/A & CC really soon!

First, I just found out someone got their CC this morning with an 11/28 scan date and no N/A on the website. The date make sense more or less taking into account the blizzard. Let's hope ours is sooooonnnn!

And yes, my husband and I both live abroad, where we met, which is very lucky. I can't imagine being separated for so long, it must be so difficult for you and your husband. In Spain they sort out your residency in about a month or two once married and if you're from a visa waiver country, you can do it all within Spain, so you never have to be separated. Wish it was the same in the US!

I'm hoping you and your husband can be reunited soon! Buying that one way ticket is going to feel so good for you!!
