  1. I did not want to create a new topic, but I have an urgent question:

We have rescheduled our interview. We did our medical exams and were preparing final documents for the interview. Suddenly I've found an error in my DS-260 form where my the birth year in my DS-260 is incorrect. In my wifes DS-260 form my date of birth is correct. KCC did not notice this mistake. Do we need to be warried about this? Because we dont have any time left to make any changes. Should we point this issue out during the interview to the consular? Please advice if this mistake could cause us any problems? Thank you in advance for the answers!!

  2. USA embassy in Lithuania. They seemed to be quit busy, but there was no problem to postpone the interview. They asked if we could have the interview during the same month just not to mess up their system. They issued an interview date the next week. So we said yes. I hope it helps the others. I believe USA embassies in smaller countries with less population and visa numbers are a bit more open and easier regarding rescheduling and etc.

  3. Just want to double check with you regarding the interview reschedule. Is it a normal practice that once we have called the embassy to postpone or to reschedule the interview date they have offered us to have an interview a couple of weeks later (which suits us), so they confirmed the new time and date only by the phone. We did not receive any separate email or confirmation with rescheduled date from them. The only proof we have about the rescheduled date is just a phone call (which I assume was recorded).

I don't want to mention the exact embassy due to privacy and security reasons, it just makes us a bit worried. We do not want to call embassy multiply times with such questions so just wanted to know if rescheduling methods can be different due to different embassy's. The reason we are worried is mostly that even on this forum we found out stories where people rescheduled their date and received the confirmation and sometimes they were asked to show the confirmed interview time and date to the embassy security to get inside.

  4. We have submitted our DS-260 forms on the 9th of September but so far we did not receive an email and notification about the status update. On the 12th of December we sent an email to KCC to double check if everythinkg is ok, so we got a reply that our forms are still in process and they need several weeks to process. But still no news... Our case number are extremely low but this delay is a bit strange..are there anybody else experiencing such a long DS-260 processing? Its almost 4 months we are waiting for the visa number and invitation for an interview..our case number become current right at the very start of the DV2015 process.

  5. More and more topics are created about the Bank Statements. In the DV Lottery Requirements Bank Statement is not listed among the DV Lottery Supporting Documents so as I can see this is an optional document which could be asked at the embassy during the interview. For example currently we are re-building our mothers house and invested all our money in it, so we have nothing to show to the embassy - could this be a case for denied visa?

  6. It takes them at least two months to process the forms, and has been as long as three months this fiscal year. Your forms have to complete processing before they will schedule you. Furthermore they only seem to do the schedules once a month, around the first week of the month for two months' time. So if you submitted Sept 9, let's say two months to process = around 9 Nov, you may just make the interviews being scheduled around that time for January. You'd probably get the notification about a week after that.

Also they don't send a letter as such, they send an email telling you that the dv site (same one you got your selection letter) has been updated, and your interview letter will be there. The emails sometimes go astray/into junk but you can just check the page using the same confirmation number you used originally.

Thank you again for your quick reply. You've been very helpful!

  7. Thank you for the answers.

Again there are some questions left which causes us confusion.

Do you seek to enter the United States for the purpose of performing skilled or unskilled labor but have not yet been certified by the Secretary of Labor?

How we should answer this question, logically: Yes, of course we will perform skilled or unskilled work, but anyway we would get the certifications if needed after we immigrate to U.S. How would you answer this question?

And the last question we do not know how to answer:

Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?

For me it is simple, I put NO because I am not a graduate of a foreign medical school, but my wife is.

So again, if she answers YES and then makes explanation that she would get all the examinations or it's equivalent after she immigrates to United States can we hope that the consulate will accept such answers and we wll not be denied to get a visa ?

I have scanned this forum to find these answers and how to correctly fill the DS-260, but the more info I find, the more it makes us confused...

Thank you all for your patience and understanding, maybe we are exaggerating and focusing too much on these questions, but we want to be sure we fill the DS-260 correctly.

  8. Hello,

Me and my wife are in the process to finish the DS-260 form filling. In the DS-260 form there are a couple of questions related to health care professionals.

Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?

My wife has a Bachelor Degree in Dental Hygiene and is currently working as a Dental Hygienist in Lithuania. Her intention is to perfom such work in the U.S. also, but she does not have any certificationfrom the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization? If she answers "Yes" then she has to explain why. Well the main argument for this is, that she would get all the required certifications and licences to perfom such work after she gets the green card and emigrates to the U.S., she could find a job which does not require any training or experience while she will get all the licenses, because to get the diploma evaluation and to get the right certifications costs money and takes up time.

If she would answer "No" she would be lying, because her studies and her professional experience shows that she is a Dental Hygienist and she is related to Health Care. So this could end by denied viza during the interview.

Can we hope that the explanation which we have could be accepted and would not destroy our hopes to get the Green Card during the interview or it is a must for her to get all the certifications before the interview? Maybe somebody has previous experience with a similar situation?

We are a bit confused here...:(

  9. Regulary a new passport can be issued after 1 month. But there are possibilities to get it in a few days (but it costs extra). Our case number is pretty low EU0007XX. We will get married in a couple of weeks, so we were thinking if we could fill her ds-260 with her old passport details and to bring both: old+new passports+ marriage certificate to the meeting and there will be no problems...?

  10. Hello, me and my fiance are about to get married. She was selected for further DV-2015 processing so we will send our DS-260 forms after we receive the marriage certificate. The question we have is: does my wife needs to change her passport before filling the DS-260 form? I mean her last name will change and I believe that if she will ask immigration office to get a new passport the passport id number will change also. Maybe the marriage certificate will be ok during the interview and she does not have to change her passport after the marriage to fill the ds-260? Please advise us.

    Thank you for your help!

  11. Yes that's an October number.

It's safer to get married then submit the DS-260 with you included but it's hard to know how the DS-260 is going to change things with regards interview timing.

If you click the submit button straight after the wedding ceremony I think you'll have your interview in November since they like to give 6 weeks notice and there is probably some processing time beforehand. I can't imagine they'd include you in October since they'll have already allocated all the interview times.

Have you thought of heading down to the registry office, doing the official marriage paperwork now and submitting the DS-260, then having the ceremony as currently scheduled? Then you wouldn't have any of these complications.

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes we are thinking about this option: to do all the marriage paperwork now and to have the official ceremony later.

There is one thing I am trying to understand: how they plan and schedule the interview dates according to case number. For example, if a person has a very low European Case number, he postpones the DS-260 submission and submits the form on January 2015. Does it mean that according to the cut-off number and his low case number he "jumps" to the very beginning of the queue for the next months possible interviews?

  12. Hello,

My story is simple. My fiancee was selected for further processing. We both are Lithuanians and we live in Lithuania. Her case number is EU7XX which I assume is extremely low for European region. We still did not submit the DS-260 form because we are planning to get married at the end of August, because we want to travel to United States together. My questions is: if we submit our DS-260 forms on September or October, when we could hope to get an invitation for the interview? As the case number is low, so even if we postpone the submission of the DS-260 form can we hope to have the interview at the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015? How everything works in this case, does the low case number guarantee the early invitation to the interview even if the form is submitted later?

I kindly thank you for your answers.
