For the K1 visa to AOS filers: Has anyone gotten an interview appointment or an Interview Waiver Letter yet?
We had our interview today and my husband was approved. He received the interview notification letter on December 23rd.

Does it look like this?

No, it's in Spanish. He went to a Spanish doctor to get his vaccines.

As long as his DS-3025 is marked completed or ticked "eligible for waiver", he should be just fine. The I-693 can only be done in the US not in the beneficiary's home country.
What if he didn't get a DS 3025? He only has vaccination records.

Hi Everyone,
My then-fiance (now husband) had his vaccines done in Spain before he entered the U.S. on a K1 Visa. However, he didn't have a Civil Surgeon complete Form I-693 when he got vaccinated. Can he just submit his vaccine records with Form I-485 (Adjustment of Status)?
Thank you

That sucks! So they made you get a co-sponsor and send in the paperwork for that before approving the visa?
I wonder if it would be a good idea to get a co-sponsor and have them fill out the forms so that I can bring it with me to the interview just in case.
I thought we wouldn't need a co-sponsor because I read so many posts about people saying they will take into account your current income, but I guess that's not always true. Anyway, I think it would be a good idea to have a co-sponsor fill out the I-134 (and have a copy of his or her tax return) just in case you need it.

We just wanted to know if they will take his new job into account rather than just look at the most recent tax filing.
I think it depends on the embassy. From our experience, the embassy in Madrid took into account only the most recent tax filing. I made below poverty line last year because I only worked a few months in 2013, but now I am earning way above the poverty line. However, the embassy still required my fiance to get a co-sponsor who earned above the poverty line last year.

Thanks for your answers everyone; very helpful! I have another question: can my fiance apply for medical and dental insurance after he gets his SSN (and before he gets his green card), or does he have to wait until after he gets his green card?

Hello,
What are the first things that fiance should get done after Point of Entry into the U.S.? Get SSN? Also, is an SSN required to get a marriage license?
Thank you

I have exactly the same situation now with our approval notice,we got NOA2 June 30 and it still says "we mailed this petition" instead "shipped". Now I started worried cause afraid to be stuck in USCIS. I'm very confused niw. Guys tell me please, did your online status was changed to shipped or still says the same even when you got you case #?!
We got the email/text of our NOA2 on July 1 and our status still says "we mailed this petition". I hope it shows "shipped" soon.

Hi Everyone,
I just received the NOA2 email notification and now we're trying to get an idea of what to expect. I found these forums when I googled Spain Embassy K1 Visa, but now I'm confused because I've found two sources that list different forms:
- The embassy info on Visa Journey (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Spain&cty=Madrid) shows DS156, DS156K, DS230 Part I, DS230 Part II, DS157.
- The embassy's website (http://madrid.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant/fiance.html) shows form DS160.
Does anyone have recent experience with the embassy in Spain? Which forms did you have to complete?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you! The interviewer asked us basic questions about how we met, how long we've known each other, if we live together, if we've met each other's families, etc. He asked my husband questions to confirm the information on his application (birth date, military records, etc.). Then at the end, he said, "congratulations" to my husband and stamped my husband's application with the approval stamp. It was about 10 minutes, I think.
