  1. Hello all,

I submitted my removal of conditions in the beginning of October 2017 and I had received my extension letter by the middle of October 2017.

In the middle of February 2018 I changed my address with them.

All updates say the same thing apart from the date in which I should receive a notice by. I received my extension in October and I have a letter saying they accepted my change of address. Is that what they mean by the latest update? That they’ve received the address change, not the case itself persay? I shouldn’t need to do a case enquiry right?

    Thanks for your help!

No UK registration required - they will need your passport number and birth certificate when applying, so they can verify your citizenship status and that it wasn't gained by descent or naturalisation and are therefore eligible to pass it on to your child.

    You're awesome. Thank you!

One/two questions I thought of a second ago. We were hoping to fly to England for Christmas this year so my family can meet the baby, but can I even travel while it's being processed and with an expired green card? Also how do I go about working with an expired card? Upon looking at the processing times, they're about a year behind currently :/ Are there measures in place to prevent you loosing your job and keep travelling?

You must file your I-751 to remove conditions any time from 90 days before the expiry date of your green card, through to the expiry date itself.

Regarding your child, by being born in the US, they are a US citizen by birth - that is the easy part.

As for the UK passport, are you or your spouse a British citizen by birth (ie, not by descent?)

If so, even when being born abroad, your child will also automatically be a British citizen and is entitled to a passport.

Found the removal of conditions stuff on the USCIS website just now thank you :)

and I'm the British citizen and will still be one when the baby is born so do I register the birth with the UK too? Or just apply for the passport when he's here? Won't they want a British birth certificate? (Sorry, been a few years since I did my own passport application)

  4. Hi guys, its been a while!

I'm hoping I've put this in the right place...

My Green Card is due to expire in November this year. It was granted in November 2015. Im just wondering what my next steps are? Do I apply for removal of conditions or renew it? I plan on becoming a Dual Citizen of Britain and America.

Also we're expecting our first baby in July and I was wondering if any knows how to make sure he's a dual citizen too? I want him to be able to have both an American and British passport.

Thanks in advance for any insight on these topics!

  5. I can understand it's horrible to wait. I am an extremely impatient person and I was lucky enough to receive my fiance visa in 7 months and it was horrible just waiting for that. Now I am going through my Adjustment of Status and I've been waiting 6 months of nothing on my green card (I have got my EAD and Advanced Parole though).

What you have to remember is the sheer volume of cases these people receive everyday and how much close attention they have to pay to them to make sure it's in order and a legitimate relationship. As much as I wish they would go "meh, whatever" and approve applications, they can't. I'm sure it dwells on them that they are keeping loved ones away from each other, but these people are working hard to make sure we get there eventually if not sooner.

Don't give up hope, you just have to know it will come.

  6. :P

You don't need a medical exam. If all your shots were done at Knightsbridge (or got waivers like "insufficient time interval") then you shouldn't need the immunization part of the I-693 done either. If you skipped shots intending to do them later at your GP or in the US, then a civil surgeon will have to sign off on the new shots plus any you got recorded at Knightsbridge. Read the I-693 instructions and they explain K1 exceptions.

If your AOS takes forever, which is happening, then you could be asked to have another full medical, shots, whatever...depending on your interviewer. But for now if you had all your shot signed off at Knightsbridge, then you shouldn't need a civil surgeon. Were you missing any shots?

I was all up to date when I went to Knightsbridge apart from Flu which I had done at Knightsbridge for easiness. I have the documents and form they gave me for proof of all vaccinations I've had throughout life. I'm all up to date now so I shouldn't have to do anything with that form? Do I need to send a copy of the vaccinations with the AOS packet or do I wait for the interview on that? You're amazing help, I can't express how much I appreciate this!

  7. Since you so kindly called me a star :star:, here is my checklist that may help you get organized.

Oh my that's so helpful! You're a supernova now haha!

I do have another question now, I had my medical in London in October 2014 so I do not need to fill out a I-693 because I'm within the year, yes?

  8. Hello lovelies

Me and the hubby finally have the money to file my AOS after two months of being married. But as I'm getting all all my forms together, I've realised the form is expired, and this is straight from the USCIS website so they haven't updated it, so am I allowed to use it?

The same goes for any other forms I come across which are out of date?

Thanks in advanced for your help!

  9. American Airlines has hourly non-stop flights from DFW to San Antonio starting 8am to 11pm. OP should be just fine snagging a ride on a later flight. Alternatively, there are an equal number going to Austin which could be just an hour+ drive for the fiancé to pick her up.

Austin is nearly 4 hours drive... San Antonio is closer so thats an option if need be. He also has family in Houston so that's another option, but I think we'll just see when I get there. Its not something I could of prevented, that day was the only day I could fly and it was the only flight I could afford. I'll just wing it. thanks

  10. I'm due to enter the US on the 29th at Dallas/Fort Worth.

I just wondered if those with previous experience have an average time it takes to get through POE? I have an hour and a half connection between arriving and my connecting flight. So I'm just hoping this is enough time! If not, we'll deal with it, but I'm curious.

    Thank you :)

  11. They say usually 10 to 14 days at the embassy after you have been approved. I have my interview with London on the 21st of November and another member had theirs on the 17th, yet we both got our email to say the visa had been released on Friday just gone and we both received our visas today. I waited 10 days, the other member 14 days. So it can vary.

If I look on the CEAC website, my visa still says issued and hasn't been updated for a week, so you can't trust that too well really.

  12. Hi, me again

The day after I got my visa approved at the consulate, my mobile number had to be changed unexpectedly...

I went onto the site where I registered for the DX courier to deliver my visa but it says I have to cancel that appointment to change my phone number. Is it the utmost importance I change it, or can I get away with it? What would it mean if I cancelled?

From the looks of it its better to just keep it as it is and not mess with it?

    Thank you my lovelies

  13. I'm honestly not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight, last night was hard enough. Luckily I have QI and Skype so my Fiance can keep me company.

It's difficult sorting my things. When going to university, you just pack your favourite things... I'm packing my life up here and choosing what makes the cut... dont even get me started on shipping the stuff...
