  1. Check the link below, it's about the implementing rules and regulation with regards to birth certificate correction in the Philippines. My nephew's birth certificate has a problem as well with regards to gender being registered on his BC, but it is just my sister who did all the works and completed the requirements needed, they did not hire an attorney. But yes, they were asked to pay for about 5k~6k. The civil registrar where your fiance's birth was registered will be the one who will give the instruction and a list of all the requirements she needs to submit.

  2. Aside from the 221g form, did the Filipino Officer on the next window after the consular interview said anything about what to do next? I got 221g form also but it was not in green form, I had mine in white and it took me almost 2yrs before the USEM contacted me through the email add i gave to them. But while waiting for the result, I checked my case status online from time to time for my case status update.

Checking your case status online is fast and easy:

    1. Go to the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website:https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/,
    2. Under “Nonimmigrant” or "IMMIGRANT", click “Check My Visa Application Status”,
    3. Choose from the drop down menu your interview location (Philippines, Manila),
    4. Enter the CEAC Barcode or Immigrant Visa case number.

  3. Bring all the requested documents with you. You will be interviewed and will be asking the same question again just the like the first time because a different consul will be assigned to you on your 2nd. But no worries, just bring those necessary docs, and be on the interview scheduled date. I'm pretty sure you'll get approved now.

  4. I appreciate all your info's /suggestion.. The reason why I want to go back in the US is for my daughter, I cannot file nor ask for a child support if I am here in PI. The father is not giving her what is right for her. I am not after what I can get from the father, If I am still entitled to go back in, then good for me. I file a child support in the due time if not granted the its ok I can work. But the chance for a better future for me and my daughter, I think, is if I go back to US.

You guys have been giving a lot of help by sharing your info or knowledge with us seeker here.. I thank you for that, but I am aiming for the best possible solution for my case, I have a time table to beat If I don't go back on or before May, then I know there are chances that I might not granted for re-entry. Is there anyone who entered the state without the permanent resident card with you, just the stamped on your passport? Did the immigration at the POE questioned you? In my scenario, I did not file the I-407 form for the abandonment of residency then, is that mean I am safe to go back and just request for a replacement of my green card. I hope I am making any sense here, or maybe my explanation is confusing to you guys. Pls. let me know

I would not check with anyone.

You do not have a 1 year temporary visa. You have a 1 year temporary green card (I-551).

Get in the plane and go. CBP can not revoke your green card. You will be allowed in. If your husband's actions created problems for you, you will be allowed to enter, live your life, and months later appear before an immigration judge.

Going to USCIS or the US Embassy will do nothing but cause you problems.

Yes, you are correct Aaron I stand corrected If i said it wrong. I do have a 1 year temporary green card and it is being stamped on my passport. I am under IR-1 visa category.

  5. Thank you guys for your quick response. I appreciate it so much.

I know calling or setting up an appointment to USEM can create a problem for me, that is why I am having a second thought for that. My plan is just to fly back to US not later than April of this year since I have a 1yr temporary visa stamped on my passport. Yes, I have read that in order for me to abandon my residency, I need to file I-407 and it requires my signature, so If husband is telling me that he returned the green card to the USCIS then he falsificate my signature and it is considered as fraud.

I just wanna make sure that if I enter the US this April is that they will not question my eligibility that will prevent me from entering the country. i have friends that already offered help that I go back they will let me stay in their home until I find a job. They want me to go back for my daughter's future because If I stay here inPI then I cannot file for a child support.

It is possible to contact USCIS in Manila and get the answers you need.

    Thanks Hank for the info

  6. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted here and now I am back with some concerns and it would be nice if someone in here can share or give feedbacks to me.

I went to US with an 1R visa last Oct.20, unfortunately me and my hubby didn't go along well. I felt uncomfortable being with him, maybe because it took us 5 long years to see each other in other words we were in a long distance relationship. After a month I decided to go back here in the Phi telling him that I need space for a while, and once that I figure out myself I will go back to US. But he did not like my idea, he wants me to stay in the US to work out things. I keep on telling him to just let me be because I was traumatized by one of our fights when he wants me to get of the place where we stay and find a place of my own knowing I have no family there except him, he even refused to help me find a job. So as a result, and out of my fear I decided to go back in the Phil.

Now the question is, when I went back to PI I didn't know that my green card has already delivered to my address in the US, I found it out just lately that it was delivered last Nov. 22 and I went back here Nov. 24 so in other words, my hubby kept my green card already without telling it to me. After a week of stay here in PI he said that he surrendered my green card to the Immigration and telling them that i abandoned and has no intention of coming back. I have been staying here in PI for 2 months and 1 week already and I believed I can still enter the US since my temporary visa is up to 6 months to 1 yr depending on the reason why i left the US.

If it's true that my hubby returned my green card, can I still go back and enter the US since my temporary visa is not yet expired? How will I know if my green card was truly returned to Immigration, is there any site or contact number I can call for information? Would my permanent resident get affected if I enter the US again, but don't want to stay with my husband anymore?

Any info that you can give me will be a big help.. Thank you so much

  7. Hello VJ,

I got issued today 8/8/2014, after patiently waiting for more than 2 months , it was not easy to wait and speculate negative things. But because of prayers, God always answer me in his time, today we are celebrating our 3 years anniversary and we are thrilled to receive a great news like this.

    Thank you again to all!

    :dancing::dancing::dancing: Congrats!!!!

  8. Could it be. Anyway i received just now a call from 2go asking how to get in our place, im going to received the most awaited visa now as in now lol:-))

Congrats to you :dancing:... The long wait is almost over or should I say is over because probably by the time this message will be posted, you have the visa already.

  9. What does your dahboard on ustraveldocs says? I hope so sis. Im lil worried now

My dashboard at the ustraveldocs is not updated, when I got my visa yesterday I checked the status of my passport to see if it is updated, but funny because in my dashboard is appears that My passport is still at the USEM were in fact at that time it was already on my hand. Keep on checking at the CEAC site for your status update, once it is ISSUED give at least 2~3 more days then you start tracking your passport at 2go e-trace.

  10. They're just the same means you have a clean record. Nothing to worry about. My NBI clearance issued last 2011 stated "no record on file" and when I have my updated NBI clearance this year it says No derogatory record".

    You're fine, don't worry

  11. Hello everyone and congrats on getting your visa :)i'm still under AP two weeks after interview, tried to track my passport today at cgifederal, normally its "passport still with the post" but now i see none, my profile info, delivery etc and no other choices :(i was approved during interview, my police clearance is from hk is already sent to teh consulate last Jul 30.

Just keep checking the CEAC, you said your police clearance was just sent to the consulate last July 30 and it's been only 2 days. Give it at least a week, if nothing happens or status is still at AP might want to contact them and make a follow-up or ask if they already received the doc.

Don't worry, since you said you were approved, your visa will be granted to you soon.

  12. There is no place like home, but I hope the decision of going back here is mutual. Being here means to start anew, find a job which I know is hard because most of the company has this age limit requirements. If you decided to stay here for good, huge savings on your account would only support your family for a while after that what comes next is the question unless you decided to establish a successful business here then you'll be good.

Anyway, I know you will enjoy your stay here because you are with your love one. God Bless you and your family.. Good luck!!!

  13. To everyone who takes time to read this thread and contributed information and knowledge regarding visa matter, I would like to say Thank you so much for your quick responses to all my queries. I am happy to announce that my visa has just arrived today at my house at exactly 1:30pm. I am so glad that I found a forum who has a member/admins/staff that are willing to entertain questions from the newbies like me.

My journey has just begun. I am soon leaving my country where I grew up and been with for 37 yrs. to be with my husband in the US the land of dreams. To all who are still waiting for their visa, be patient (though I know it is hard at times), pray, and be positive. Reading others post will give you an idea on what to do or where to go with regard to visa matters.

And to all who are able to surpass this very stressful visa waiting, may you find time to share your experience with those who are still going through the visa process, for them to have an idea on what are the do's and Don'ts.

Thank you Visa Journey and more power.. May you continue to help and give advice to other aspiring immigrant.

  14. Sorry...I meant to say Im checking my status at 2go...not CEAC...I have no idea what I was thinking...anyway..I used MNL, UID and passport...and all show...invalid... :-)

Try using your UID which you will find on your interview appointment confirmation sheet. If using UID gives you invalid result, then probably your passport is still at the USEM and not yet in 2GO. Keep on checking

  15. Category - IR1

    Interview date - July 24,2014

    Status update - Issued July 28, 2014

2GO Visa Delivery - as of 4:33pm today my visa is in-transit

Expecting mine today or tomorrow... You will get yours too, try checking the 2GO website and enter UID. Tracking your package using your UID is the most reliable way I guess. I tried using my case number and passport # to track my package, but it's giving me invalid result. But when I used the UID the shipment details showed up.

  16. Mine is for delivery too but i asked the guy at 2go window after my interview at the USEM... He said they were goin to text me and the package will be delivered with in the next day...

So i guess we have to wait...

I also sent them an email if its possible to pick up my docs at 2go roces ext branch...

Im just anxious to have our passport... ????

I know the feeling hahaha. Maybe they will deliver it tomorrow since it's almost 5pm now. Let me know when you will get the visa.. I'm so happy for us yehey!!

  17. Hey joy,

Try to check yours maybe its there already since your visa status is at Issued...

But USEM posted that applicants who have interviewed after july 21 can get there passport with out visa in it...

    Hmmmm

Im lucky m jul 18 hehe...

Im not worried not but still i cant be completely happy unless i have my visa on hand...

My concern when i checked my case # my name ddnt appear... Only my daughter's name as a consignee... I do filled up 3 forms for us...

Do you think my passport and my son passport is in that package?

Yeah, did checked it already, it's in transit now.

Do you think my passport and my sons passport is in that package? I think so, there is no reason for the delays of your and your sons visa. Let's cross our finger... Hope all the visas are in one package.

  18. Wow same time same date... Joy let me know if 2go sent you a text...

M still waiting them to text me...

Yes will do, but I guess they will not going to text me since I chose my package to be delivered at home. Those who chose their package to pick up I think are the one who will text by 2Go to inform them that their package is ready for pick-up.

Did you choose to pick it up or delivery?
