  1. Hi Mrb4!

I am in Santiago, Chile!!!! We just got our NOA2 for the I-130 for my husband. We sent the package via DHL and it was transferred to California. It as approved in 14 days.

Did you include G-1145 form in your submission to get an email upon receipt? I did and the day after it was delivered I got an email from USCIS telling me they were transferring the case to California Service Center.

In the I-130 did you put your address in Chile for both you and your husband or did you put a US address?

Im so happy to have connected with you here as we are also waiting in Chile before moving. I hear Patagonia is BEAUTIFUL! We will plan a trip this summer to visit so let me know if you have any tips :)

I would suggest calling on monday to see if they can give you any information.

    Hi Gwinne!

It's great to connect with you, and your fast approval gives me hope!

    Congradulations!

Did you need to go to an interview at the embassy?

I was able to get through to USCIS on Friday, and it turns out that the money order that I sent through the Post Office was emitted incorrectly :(

I had a dubious feeling when they made out the order.... so I am not completely surprised, but I will have to send the whole package in again

(Luckily I got my money back)

I wanted to ask you how you made the payment???

Where will you be living in the US?

I am from AZ and my husband is from Puerto Natales. You cannot leave Chile without visiting Patagonia!

Lets keep in touch, as we are almost on the same timeline

Also, I used our Chile addresses, and I did sign up for the email notifications

    Thanks!

    Magan

  4. I did some searching for an April 2014 I-130 filers thread, but I couldn't find one.

Just sent off the I-130 from Santiago, Chile to the Chicago Lockbox on 9 April 2014 and looking to see some other timelines!

I have nearly gone blind reading massive amounts of information to be found on this website and it seems like by May 2014, USCIS is supposed to have a 5 month processing goal to NOA2 for I-130s. Here's hoping it's fast for everyone!

    Hi silverjetplane

I just wanted to know how your case is going. I just filed my I 130 at the end of May, and still have not received a receipt notice! It seems a bit strange after seeing others posts who received an email almost immmediately.

Is your visa moving along already?

  5. Agreeing with the above, petitions filed from abroad have been approved pretty quickly recently, so you might get lucky after all OP :) Here's the thread for June I-130 filers: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/500107-june-2014-i-130-filers/ That'll be the right resource for you while you go through USCIS. We look forward to seeing you back here post-NOA2!

Thanks for the reply BOS_LHR and TM713,

I am seeing that other filers from abroad have gotten receipt notices almost immediately, which is troublesome. I know everyone feels the same.... but it seems like my case would be a ^no brainer` :)

Does anyone have any shortcut phone numbers for USCIS? Or should I pass through the whole operated system? Any pointers when calling?

    Thanks again

  6. Hi Everyone!

This forum is really great, I am happy that it exists.

This is my 2nd round through the USCIS system. I am a USC and brought my husband to the US in a K1 in 2006 (it took 9 months , expedited and with congressional support!! I hope the time is shorter now.)

After many years living between the US and Chile, we decided to stay in Chile for employment reasons. My husband is a LPR, but unofficial my abandoned his status in 2012, when his re-entry permit expired.

Now,we have decided to sell everything s d move back to the US!

Which means starting the process over via I 130

We are waiting it out in Chile, until we get done kind of confirmation from NVC that the visa is in process

We have two small children, both USC so we just need to petition for my husband

I am a little concerned because I sent the package on May 27th, from Patagonia (think end of the earth) via UPS

The package was signed for on June 1st, but I haven't received my NOA :(...

Has anyone else filed recently from Chile???

I was ignorantly certain that the process would go quickly as my husband was a LPR until recently

What are other people's experiences with the process, filing from abroad?

Does the Chicago Lockbox emit the NOA? If dies it come from a district office???

Thanks and of course GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!!
