    Congrats, that sounds wonderful. Mine is going to be on Wednesday. I have a quick question. Somebody told me it is going to take about 3 hours for everything. We wanted to take our kids 2 and 4. A friend told me that the first hour I just need to fill out papers and rehearse etc. The family members should come later. Was that true for you?

    Hi guys! I had the Oath Ceremony yesterday, at the Tampa, FL Office! Very beautiful, emotional day! It was about 73 of us, from 20 different countries, family and friends were right next to us and they were allowed to take pictures and videos! All the staff was very professional and very kind, congratulating us every time we would meet our eyes. It was an amazing experience, I can tell you it takes a while to grasp the fact that you are now a US citizen. I wish lots of good luck to each of you, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. God bless! :dancing::goofy::dancing:

    Just completed my naturalization ceremony! Got there about half an hour before the scheduled time, there is paid parking close by, so didnt have much hassle. First step once we are all in the actual courtroom, they briefed us on what the ceremony would be like, then they took our appointment notice and greencard and was given a welcome packet which also had the number marked on it in the order we would be seated. After that we were given about an half hour break to use the bathroom,grab something from the cafeteria etc. After we all got back, we were properly seated based on the number we were given earlier, was addressed by the district attorney and shortly afterwards the ceremony was on the way. The ceremony itself was about an hour, but overall, we were there about three hours. we were all individually called by name and introduced to the judge, then we were given the oath of allegiance by the USCIS rep, followed by us going up to individually collect the certificate,greet the judge etc, next we pledged allegiance to the flag, judge congratulated us once again and left and court was adjourned. It was a long road getting to this day, but Thank God it finally came! Goodluck to everyone still waiting, Your day will come as well.

    I thought about you yesterday, since I am in Richmond, VA as well. Got notice today that I am scheduled for the next oath ceremony. Hopefully it will not take too long. :-)

    Congratulations Maritioni! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. :-)

    I had my interview yesterday as well and passed! YEEEEAAAAHHHHH! Now waiting for oath ceremony date. They are doing a legal name change to take my old name as middle name. Do you guys think that will delay the oath ceremony? Anyways, I am happy to keep my old name and I can wait a couple more weeks.

    Thanks Milka. My wife is active duty military, so I was able to file through the Nebraska service center, and I was able to do a walk in biometrics almost a month earlier than my actual schedule date, I think a combination of both those factors helped shaved some time off my actual wait time. Hope you do get scheduled real soon. From what I have gathered, the court in Richmond holds oath ceremonies once per month.

    Congrats, Techguru! I am going through the Norfolk office as well....however in line for interview since 5 weeks and no new yet. Did you apply through military or why did it get so fast with you?

    Just passed my naturalization interview at the Norfolk field office. Officer was super nice, it was like talking to a friend.Arrived early,and waited about 45mins to be called in.

    Once inside, she had me swear in, then asked for my passport, green card and drivers license. She started with the civics test, questions asked were;

    1.who wrote the declaration of independence

    2. one state that borders mexico

    3.name the two political parties

    4.party that the president belongs to

    5.who is commander in chief of the military

    6.cant remember the last one,but they were easy.

    Next she went through the application line by line, then had me sign the two photographs originally submitted and also a few forms, then congratulated me that i was approved and should wait for the ceremony date to arrive in the mail and that the ceremony will be held at the courthouse in richmond.

    Even though the USCIS site states that Norfolk office does same day naturalization, she told me thats only for active duty military or spouses pcs-ing overseas with partner.

    Hope this info helps someone in the future. So happy this long process is winding down, end almost in sight

    Lucky you!!! :) it takes 45 minutes drive for me,i thought of going down to idaho falls for walk in but i cant take any more days off as i already took 2 days off last week and few more days in the future so i will just wait... :dancing:

    Hi, the office for the fingerprints is about 1 1/3 hours drive for me. I am not sure why it is down there, maybe because of the navel base. I live in the state capital but no office here. :-)

    Hi Milka,i will have my finger prints taken in Idaho falls next week,it looks like you will have your's done 2 weeks later,your USCIS office probably have more applicants than our USCIS office in idaho?

    Yes, it seems to take longer here in VA, compared to a lot of other who sent out their stuff later. Well...at least the weather will be great for a trip to the beach. :-)

    Hallo ihr Lieben!

    @SteffiA: Das ist ja echt krass was du da so durchmachst, haette nie gedachts dass es so schlimm ist. Da zahlt man ein heiden Geld fuer so ne Entbindung und dann solche Zustaende. Wie sollen denn dann die kleinen Dinger wachsen? Bin sooooooooooo froh, dass bei uns alles in Ordnung ging und Noah gesund und munter ist und war zur Geburt. Hoffe das beim naechsten baby wieder alles so gut und easy wird. Da kann man ja echt Angst bekommen. Was macht ihr denn dann wenn euch die Eltern von der Scheibe aus beobachten und das Baby schreit und schreit weil es Hunger hat etc. und ihr koennt nicths machen was ihr noch ein anderes beamtmen muesst etc. Echt krass, ich bin sprachlos.

    PS: Ich muss auch unbedingt mal nach D.C. zur Botschaft. BTW, Nina wenn du nur Freitag kannst, musst du anrufen uns die geben dir nen Termin per Telefon, online kann man nur Mo.-Do. reservieren. Ich hatten denen ne mail geschrieben und am naechsten Tag rief mich ne super nette jungen Lady an und sprach mir in Dt. auf den AB. :-)

    Hallo ihr Lieben,

    Ach unsere lieben Maenner.....Ich denke Streitigkeiten gibt es uberall bei uns auch und manchmal sind die echt heftig. :blush: Aber man auch darueber sprechen, ansonsten kann sich ja nichts aenderns. Zum Glueck hat mein Mann auch nichts mit Computerspielen am Hut. Wir verbringen auch die Abende zusammen und teilen uns die Arbeit. Er raeumt die Spuelmaschiene ein und aus, macht Waesche und etc. Da bin ich echt ganz froh, denn wir arbeiten auch beide. Seit Noah sieht es mit Date Nights auch nicht mehr so rosig aus, aber wir machen dann halt viel zusammen und ein paar Mal hat auch seine Mom Abends baby gesittet und wir waren weg. Wir muessen uns mal nen guten Babysitter zulegen, Hubby vertraut nun den 16/17 jaehrigen Teenies nicht. Hmmmm.....kann ich schon verstehen. Aber die aelteren sind alle im College und wollen nicht am WE Abend zum Babysitten. Naja, mal sehen was der Sommer so bringt.

    @Muttis: Habt ihr nen Tipp fuer nen guten Sippy Cup? Welche Marke etc. Danke im Voraus. Wir haben momentan nen stainless steel aber der ist ein bisschen schwer fuer den kleinen Mann.

    Ich habe es auch mal wieder geschaftt nachzulesen. In letzter Zeit hat es irgendwie immer nicht geklappt.

    @Anna unser Noah is seit gestern 8 Monate HELP!!!! :) :)

    @Ilka ich dachte Euer Kleiner ist 7 Monate....Ist er nicht im August geboren?? *confused*

    Ich find das auch ganz fuerchterlich mit dem Beben in Japan und vorallem die ganzen Nachwirkungen. :(

    Vollkommen richtig, Susanne! Ich war schon einen Monate zu weit. Jetzt ist er fast 8,5 Monate. :-)

    Ich hab heute spontan ein ultrasound appointment bekommen und es kamen ein paar süsse Bilder dabei raus!

    Super suesse Bilder. Wisst ihr schon was es wird? Ich tippe auch auf Jungen. Weiss gar nicht ob du schon was gesagt hattest.

    @SteffiH: Super, dass ihr euch schon gut in Dt. eingelebt habt. Es braucht einfach seine Zeit und ich kann mir vorstellen das Miguel erst mal checken muss was da so abgeht.

    Habe auch mal mit meinem Bruder gesprochen. Er meinte das die Spanischkurse grundsaetzlich von Rentern gebucht werden und der braucht jemanden der gut Deutsch und Spanisch kann. Sorry!

    @Gina: Sorry wegen deinem Opa und das ist ja echt krass mit deinem Mann. Tut mir wirklich so leid. Ist es ein endgueltiges aus mit Scheidung etc.? Immerhin hast du ein paar gute Freunde und LA ist doch immer eine Reise wert. :-)

    @Babsi: YEAH ein neues Baby! Nun sind schon wieder 2 Leute schwanger, mal sehen wie es weitergeht. :-)

    Ansonsten gibt's nicht viel neues von uns. Hubby ist ab heute zu Hause und schreibt die naechsten 3 Monate seinen Novel, danach sollte es mit dem Filmdreh losgehen. Bitte Daumen gedrueckt halten. :-)

    Zwecks schlafen, Noah ist zum Glueck super einfach. Er schlaeft schon lange durch und ich sage auch Routine ist das beste. Ich koch auch essen selber, natuerlich alles organic. sweet potatos, beets, carross, spinach, zucchini etc. Frueh bekommt er 3oz frisch gepressten Karottensaft mit Formula eine Std. spater von MIL cereal mit fruit und Abends immer Fruit (Birne, Banane, Apfel mit Blaubeeren, Brombeeren etc.

    Hallo ihr Lieben,

    Unser kleiner Spatz ist heute 8 Monate alt. Die Zeit vergeht so schnell........echt krass.

    @Ilka ich hab auch aufgehoert zu stillen und pumpen, als Noah 7 Monate alt war. Bei mir hats so ca. 2 Wochen geauert bis wirklich alles weg war. Die ersten Tage waren heftig und ich hab dann nur 1 bis 2 oz abgepumpt, nur damit ich keine Mastitis bekomme. Das hab ich alle 2 Tage oder so gemacht und nach und nach hab ich dann keine Milch mehr produziert.

    Danke Susanne, noch 3 Tg. war es schon viel besser und nun ist es so wie vorher. YEAH, ich habe meine Brueste back!!!!!!

    @Steffi: Super mit der Teilzeit, dann hast du auch mehr Zeit fuer die Kiddies. :-) Einige sind halt echt krass drauf, ich bin total froh dass meine Arbeitskollegen und Chefs so nett sind. Dein Kinderarzt ist ja echt krass. Da kann ich ja froh sein, dass unser so cool ist. Wir haben noch nicht eine einzige Impfung machen lassen auch nicht im KH. Schon krass das die da nicht offen sind and soviele Wirkstoffe auf einmal wie soll denn das so ein kleiner Koerper verarbeiten?

    @Thea: Mensch sei echt gluecklich, dass du nicht in Japan warst zu der Zeit. Auch jetzt wuerde ich da nicht hinfliegen wollen, staendig Nachbeben und mit der Radiaktivtaet ist auch nicht zu spassen. Ich hoffe du musst nicht mehr so viel reisen in der naechsten Zeit der Bauch wird ja nicht kleiner. :no: Was machst du denn wenn das Baby da ist, bleibst du erstmal laenger zu Hause oder nur die 6 oder 12 Wochen?
