  1. From the US Embassy website

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/

    EMBASSY CLOSURE - DECEMBER 8, 2014 (MONDAY)

NOTICE TO NIV APPLICANTS SCHEDULED ON DECEMBER 8, 2014

Due to inclement weather conditions, the Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit will not process visa applications on Monday, December 8, 2014.

Applicants scheduled on this date are advised to reschedule their appointments. Applicants may reschedule online through www.ustraveldocs.com/ph or by contacting the Embassy call center at (02) 976-8500, (02) 976-8501, and (02) 976-8502. The call center is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., excluding U.S. and Philippine holidays.

Go straight to the website and reschedule as there will be a rush. Good Luck.

Any chance they will mail out visa packets? They only mentioned the non-immigrant visa unit...how about for immigrant visa? Im just waiting for them to mail my hubbys visa packet to local 2go office

  2. I got his extension when I had issues with my interview schedule. Ceac says 'ready' and when I showed up on my interview date they sent me home. Apparently they haven't receive the physical file from NVC. So he accommodated me and gave me his direct extension. From then on everytime I have issues, I call him directly and he's very nice and patient. When I had this issue last Friday i thought of calling him but he's on leave so I had to wait till Monday and he immediately assisted me.

Its means someone access your file on that day. Or did something about it. The way he explained it to me, every time someone access your file the date change. The only difference on my case is they had to unlock it. ( apparently when the status says issued its locked) Since my interview it says Issued, but then they had to do some data correction so they unlock it and it becomes ready as if i was to be interview and when finalized it changed back to issued.

So its possible ours will turn to "issued" within a day or 2?

  3. Just to update y'all, I called the visa immigrant unit supervisor at USEM Manila yesterday morning to clarify what happened to my status and he assured me there's nothing to worry about. He said, the reason why it changes to ready is because someone open the case (which is already locked) to correct some data entry. Apparently, if someone access your file or did something on it, it has to be on ready status or ap. He said in a day or two it will go back to issued. And yesterday afternoon my status at ceac changed to ISSUED. Such a relief.

What the supervisor told me is exactly what happened to your case. They had to re open to correct some data. Same with mine. :) I hope you get the corrected visa soon.

I'm not sure about changing of created date. People told me to look after the status updated date. And in my case it has changed. Thanks for the input.

How were you able to talk to supervisor? I called amd was omly able to tlk to an agent. I noticed on our visa status its stil ap, but theres a new date under "status update" what does that mean? Did they open case? We had to send w2, and we did last thursday

  4. Never heard of CFO wanting a copy of the NBI. Some have used the NBI as a picture ID, but CFO doesn't ask for a copy.

From my link under the CFO tab.

Required documents + + "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: 2X2 passport photo (Filipina), originals & copies of; CENOMAR (CEMAR and marriage certificate if married), certified birth certificate. Passport and copies of bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together. From USC (copies of) - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. (USC if you have never been married before CFO has been asking for a copy of the tax return - if you provide that to CFO then for sure BLACKEN OUT YOUR SSN and other vital info that should not be made public. )

Whose birth certificate, mine ( petitioner) or my husbands?

  5. What to bring in CFO (based on my experience)

    * Online appointment form (I don't have this before since they haven't implemented at that time I had mine.)

    * Passport (have a 2 photocopies of the bio page and the visa stamp)

    * NSO birth certificate and cenomar (actually they really get mind but I just bring them just in case)

    * Completed CFO form (serve as your kodiko for filing the form they will give you.)You should know your petioner details like his complete address, telephone number, age, birthday, or even his previous spouse information and divorce degree if his divorced.

    * NBI Clearance ( have 2 copies also) it is advisable to have a photocopies of all your documents.

    * Money for the payment. Have enough money coz there is no jeep route heading that building so Taxi and pedicab are the only way going there if u don't have a car. Also bring a small drinking water, the entire process could take 4-5 hours.

    * and lastly bring proof of relationship.

    Good luck :)

Do they keep amy documents you bring?

  6. What does my husband need to bring to the CFO seminar that he needs to attemd before coming to US? I get confused because there are diff answeres...would they accept photocopies of anything or just originals? Do they keep them or just look at them? Thanks!

  7. Being that NVC is the one that schedules the interviews, yes, you can call and find out if one's been scheduled for your case yet.

Remember, emails are delayed, so calling will always be the fastest way to find something out.

Hi saylin, so is there really cut off dates for setting interviews? Every agent I've talked to says something siff. My cc was on oct 16. Any chance at all for nov inteview for my husband?
