Thanks, but I have another dilemma & no one can set me straight. I am 4 years behind in doing my ROM. Fine, I'll pay the extra fee, but as of May15 all notarized papers have to be Apostilled.
I went to the local place in North Las Vegas & was told that she could Apostille our Marriage Cert, because we were married here in Vegas, but couldn't certify my wife's or my birth Cert. - yes they are originals. Furthermore, even though my 2 divorce papers were originals, she needed a Certified Original before she would Apostille. And the divorce original from North Carolina she wouldn't do at all.
The icing on the cake was that they only accept the Apostille applications on Fridays and it takes a week or more to get back.
I was planning on being one of the first in lines at 9am for my ROM & pray they can get it done & back to me so I can make 4 copies, in time for a 12:16 appointment for the Passport. I checked - they are at 2 different windows. On line they said ROM's processed between 9-12 can be picked up by 3pm. That is way too late. Am I just screwed?
-
Thank You everyone. I will do the ROM at the same time as renewing my passport. I don't need a special appointment or anything? If I send off now - it says it takes 6 months to get Cert.

I see 42.50 for form & another 42.50 for being late....
-
I will pay more, but where is the form I need to send to tell them I am married?
-
No we did not - didn't know we were supposed to...

My wife (has green card) needs to get her PI passport renewed. We have an appt. in LA for the end of July. I reading thru some stuff I got confused.
"In case of woman married in the U.S.: one (1) original and one (1) photocopy of the Report of Marriage (ROM) issued less than a year by the Philippine Consulate where the marriage took place. If ROM is more than 1 year old, bring original and photocopy of PSA ROM. In case of woman married in the Philippines: one (1) original or certified true copy and one (1) photocopy of Marriage Contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)"
We were married in US 4 years ago. Were we supposed to tell someone in the Philippines that she got married & that is the PSA ROM they want, or do they want the Ceomar that says she was single & so she was available to get married?
It looks like they want nothing in advance - but we are driving 6 hours to get to consulate, so I want it right the first time...

My best friend married his K-1 Fiance before the 90 days were up. His question is - Is there a timeline in which he must submit the AOS paperwork with the $1,000+? Example 90 days after wedding. I haven't seen any & I am in process of filing my 2nd year AOS for my wife, so it is too long ago, for me to remember.
Thanks in advance.

My best friends fiance' had her interview yesterday & at the end they said that she should have her VISA in about a week. Then today she gets a email that says the VISA has been refuse per 221g - see attached. It says it needs more documentation, but doesn't list any. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks

OK, in about 2 months I will be filing my I751, so my wife can become a permanent Green Card holder. All of a sudden I am getting emails on where to get her I-693 done. I haven't seen anything about my wife needed a I-693.... What's up?

My best friend has a fiance that is still in the Philippines. When she went to St Lukes, she tested positive for Tuburculousus. She started on the pills, but later found out that her strain need shots first, then pills. It is almost 2.5 years now, but she should be done with all the shots/pills in March of 2017. I know she needs to go through St Lukes again & my best friend will pay again, but his fiancé is telling him that they won’t grant her leaving unless he goes back to the Philippines to visit again. She said it is because it has been over 2 years since he originally went. Any truth to that?

My wife has a perm Green card till 1/5/2018, but her work permit expired. SS says valid for work only with DHS Authorization. Work card expired 9/1/2016. How/who do I contact to get it extended.
Thanks

My best friend is engaged to a young woman from Manila. All the paperwork went through great, until St. Lukes. She tested positive for TB. She started on the pills, but had a bad reaction to them, so they tried some different ones - still hives & welts. They sent her to a specialty clinic, that figured out she has a fairly rare case of TB, nag she would need to go to the clinic every day for 9 months 6 days a week for an injection. She is finally done with those, but now they say she has to have a years worth of pills every day 5 days a week. The question is, it will be almost 2.5 years since my best friend went over to see her, and of course the initial petition has expired. My question, does he have to start the petition all over, some say yes, others say no, he just has to pay for St. Lukes to do the entire physical again and then the interview. Anyone know the real deal here?
Thanks in advance

My wife & I just got notice of our Interview. She came into states in May and we were married in June. It asks for the I-693 Medical exam to be completed before the interview. Is that something our family Dr. does, or is it a Government DR. that has to do it?
-
Perfect - thanks. Still waiting for our Interview date.

My wife just got her job authorization card, but it is only for 1 year - is that right?
-
Thanks but what about....
We are still waiting for a work card NOA1, we got the receipt that they received the I-765 on July 6th, but nothing since..... Is it all tied to the Interview?
Thanks again...

I checked the status on USCIS and received the following message:
As of August 14, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.
How long before we get the actual letter so I can arrangements at work for the interview? I know it changes, but a ball-park time frame....
Thanks

I miss quoted my friend, the treatment is 16 months, not 16 weeks. And then she has to wait for 2 more months before she can try St. Lukes again. I think the answer is the same - that the petition is on "Hold" until medical is done.
-
I have a friend who did not pass the medical. They found that she had a rare version of TB. She takes pills everyday and a shot in the arm 6 days a week and she has to take them for 16 weeks. Then, she was told, that she would have to wait 2 more weeks and do St. Lukes again. I understand that my friend will have to pay for the new medical.
My question is, she isn't even half way done with her treatment and the K-1 acceptance date has been past. Does my friend need to start completely over with a new I-219f? Or is the old petition on "hold" because she is still under the Dr's care at St. Lukes.
Thanks all...
