  1. Hi All,

I am currently the petitioner for my step-son. I submitted my 2017 tax returns to the NVC in March (prior to filing my 2018 taxes). They just sent me a message asking that i upload my W2 from the 2017 tax year. Should i also upload my 2018 federal tax return and associated W2s since I have now filed them as well?

    Thank you for your input!

  2. Hi All,

Thank you for your input. The document was uploaded under Marriage Certificate. NVC wrote "We are unable to accept these documents as uploaded. Please delete tehse documents and submit them under the correct document type."

The scan is of good quality, black and white, has the seal (perhaps this is an issue since it was scanned in black and white and the seal is red?), and does not have any corners cut off.

Thanks for the info regarding scan quality. I can certainly try uploading it as a PDF once i better figure out the problem at hand.

    Any other thoughts?

I see there is a section titled petitioners marriage certificate. I think i should have uploaded it in this section since i am the petitioner as opposed to the marriage certificate section. Does everyone agree this is the problem? Ugh, stupid mistake!
Thank you again for all of your help!

  3. Hi All,

I am a long time reader of this forum and appreciate everyone's assistance.

I am a US citizen and am in the process of petitioning my step-son to the US.

The NVC has accepted all of my documents, with the exception of my wife and i's marriage certificate.

We were married in the United States and I submitted a scanned certified copy (certified in October of 2015) to the NVC.

Would anyone be able to advise me why it was rejected? Perhaps needs to be more recently certified?

I can't find any data regarding the criteria for marriage certificates online.

    Thank you in advance!

  4. My wife was told that she needs to return to the us embassy in tegucigalpa to close her immigration case. We submitted our

I-212 and I-601 following her first interview and they have been accepted and received by the embassy. They told her she would need to go to one of the windows to "close her immigration case."

I don't understand the purpose of this visit since her I-212 and I-601 had already been accepted.

Any idea what the purpose is of this visit and what to expect?

  5. FYI ended up being request for additional evidence for my case, not request for more info related to the expedite request.

I submitted an expedite request for my i-601 and i-212 recently.

My case status changed to request for additional evidence was mailed.

Does this mean what my expedite request was accepted? Or that more information is needed to determine if they will expedite my case?

Thank you so much for your help!

  6. The expedite is solely an issue about speeding up the review of the case not the case itself which will be responded to separately.

My assumption is they have questions about the reason for the expedite.

maybe is the information they need to determine your request good luck!!!! I file those waiver you're filing too because my lawyer and the ignorance i went through about all immigration procedures took 22 months to get my waivers approved hopefully you get yours approved soon

Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it!
