  1. Thanks for your advice

The medical vaccination sheet is incomplete...and when i called for an appointment they said to see a civil surgeon you must pay the fee, so either way my husband has to undergo the fees

  2. Hi, my fiance and I just married. We are about to file his AOS. He had a history of TB, and was already treated. Also, his medical vaccination sheet from St. Lukes was completed; however, on some of the vaccine they had placed reasons why my husband was not ble to get the vaccine such as "not age appropriate" and "not routinely available" and "insufficient time intervals"...he wasn't able to get some of the vaccine bcuz it was contraindicated with his TB history and also because they didn't have some available; however, the Vaccine form was completed correctly.

To my knowledge, you don't have to undergo another medical examination as long as you file AOS within one year of the medical correct? Also, we had a government personnel contact us and told us we also had to undergo a sputum exam here, so we were seen by a doctor with a local public heatlh clinic. We are having our clearance on Feb 10; however.

Can I just file my AOS with the vaccine form and without a medical from a civil surgeon?

  3. one of the court house representative told me that once I get married the judge will sign my marriage license and then i would have to send that to the clerk, and they will eventually mail me a finalized marraige certificate.

So if my fiance and i married prior to the 90 day deadline, but file the AOS a month later, my fiance won't get deported or anything like that? is there a deadline on when or the latest time you can submit the AOS?

    Thank you!

  4. Hi, my fiance has arrived in US Nov 14, we are planning to get married Jan 15. We already purchased our marriage license. I was told that once we get married we will have to wait for the final marriage license (typed up and all) 30 days later. Is it ok to send a copy of the marriage license that has the hand written version of the judge who had married us. Because if I wait for that 30 days, my fiance's stay will be expired by (Feb 15). Please advice?

  5. Thanks for the reply. Yes my fiance is male, so I don't think I have to worry about his name change. I just wanted to process things as early as I can and get things out of the way. I just wanted to clarify, although he has a social security number, he is still not able to apply for a job correct?

  6. Hi everyone,

My fiance has arrived in the US about 2 weeks ago. Our wedding is on January 15. I was wondering, can we start applying for a social security number prior to our marriage? (if given a social security number, will that be his number even after the AOS is approved and given a green card?) What about a driver's license? If these are possible to apply prior to marriage, what are the steps to do so and the requirements.

Thank you so much for your help.

  7. Hi VJ members,

I want to first thank you for all the help throughout this whole process. My fiance has finally received his visa packet. I am planning to purchase a flight in a few days. I was wondering if there is anything else missing. He has finished his medical, finished interview with USEM and has received his visa packet (the brown envelope with his passport containing his visa). He has already taken the CFO class and will be getting the sticker on Tuesday (since he already has the certificate). Is there anything else I'm missing?

I am choosing the MNL--> Guam-->Honolulu--> Houston route. Guam will be the point of entry correct? any advice on the POE? Also during that time what does he show to the consular just the visa envelope and his passport? anything else that he should bring?

Thank you so much once again!

  8. Hi VJ members,

I was wondering you if you can help me. My fiance just went to St. Lukes for his medical. Everything was clear; however, they told him that they were out of stock of vaccines, yet they said it's still ok to proceed with his US Embassy interview on Sept 25. and that it shouldn't be a problem. They gave him his xray CD, and the vaccination form. on the bottom it says "Vaccine History Incomplete: applicant may be eligible for blanket waivers because vaccination not medically appropriate (as indicated above)" and at the top on his table, check marks were placed under "not age appropriate", "insufficient time interval", " not routinely available"

I was just wondering is this ok? The lady from St. Lukes told him that it should be a problem, and that once he applies for his adjustment of status, then he can get his vaccines here in the US.

    please help! thank you!

  9. I just wanted to know, does the CFO keep any of the materials you present to them (for example: Birth Certificate, CENOMAR, etc). I finally got an interview Sept 25, but I plan to do the CFO class and get the certificate prior to this. I have all the required documents needed for the interview. However, I am worried if my fiance goes to the CFO class, they may keep some of my documents, photos, and I will have stuff missing for the interview.

  10. Also, I have a question about his name. His name has a suffix of Jr. Well when I filed the I-129F form I had placed his Jr. after his last name. EX: John Doe Jr. but on his Philippines passport it would state First name: John Jr. Last name: Doe; so when he got his CENOMAR and NBI clearance the name that is on there was just as it shows on his passport. First name: John Jr. Last name Doe....will that matter? or do we have to have an NBI clearance with a format of First name: John Last name: Doe Jr.? since I had filed my 129F with Jr. following his last name?

  11. Hi, my fiance and I are currently waiting for the sputum results to be released in Sept 3. I have an interview appointment already scheduled for Sept 25, hoping the cultures are negative. My fiance has completed retrieving all the required documents already prior to going to his medical on June 16, then we found out he needed a sputum culture which were done July 1-3. Anyway, my question are:

    1. my affidavit of support (along with bank statements, job letter, pay stubs, etc) were dated May 2014, will that be still valid and acceptable when he gets interview in Sept. even though its 4 months old. or do I still have to send a new and recent affidavit of support (for example dated August, only 1 month old) along with another bank statement, job letter, pay stubs, etc.

    2. His CENOMAR and NBI clearance were also obtained and dated on June 2014. That will make it 3 months old when he goes to his interview. Does he still need to get a new one? I know the validity date is that it's best to be less than 6 months, is his current NBI and CENOMAR still acceptable?

    3. What would be other issues that could come up that the embassy would request more forms after the interview?

    4. If all goes well, how long will it take for the embassy to approve and send a visa to your designated delivery place after the date of the interview? Is it possible to know if you have been approved after the interview?

Thank you for all your help!

  12. You can also arrange an appointment to get the sticker with the CFO office at NAIA directly.

So this would be possible, like prior to departure, I can just get the sticker at the airport?

  13. Thank you so much! So all he has to do is walk in CFO and bring his passport and certificate, but I thought the 400 fee should have been already paid when attending the class. When he has to pick up the CFO sticker once the visa is released, does he have to pay that fee again?

Also can CFO deny a sticker? What would be reasons why they would deny someone? Like for instance, what if my fiance doesn't know the answer to those questions they would ask?

  14. My fiance doesn't have a visa yet, but he was planning to just take the CFO class. Is that possible to attend CFO without a visa? Also, if he completes the class and gets a certificate, once we get the visa, do we have to set up another appointment with CFO in Manila to get the sticker? or can it be just a walk in since it is only getting a sticker? Thanks

  15. Thank you so much for all the help.

Marione05, what if you don't have any cough, how will they get the sputum collected? Also, when you had to reschedule your interview, who scheduled it, St. lukes or you did? Right now it's so hard to find a slot, that's why I'm doing my medical first since I know I have to wait 2 months anyway! I see that you were able to get a schedule right away after the sputum results were out!

  16. Hi, I've decided to have my fiance do his medical without an interview date since he was diagnosed with TB and he might have to do the 2 month sputum culture. Does anybody know how they collect the sputum if my fiance doesn't even cough.

    1. When the sputum culture results are released, how long do we have before the medical is expired?

    2. Isn't true that the medical validity is tied to the visa validity?

    3. For example, if the sputum culture is released Sept 1, how long do I have before my fiance has to leave the Philippines for the visa to be valid?

    Other questions:

    1. What if my fiance has all his treatment record for TB, does he still have to undergo sputum?

    2. When the sputum results are out, is that the same day my fiance will complete his medical?

    thank you!
