Ok, thanks for your help!

Hello,
I'm currently waiting for my Adjustment of Status. I filed back in January, and recently got a letter saying that the wait period would be about another 6 months, and that the interview would possibly be waived. I already have my EAD and Advance Parole, and have completed the biometrics appointment.
What are the consequences of losing my passport? Will it affect my AOS application? Do I need to report this to USCIS?
Thanks,
Tom

I've just discovered this thread. I am in the same situation as the OP: I am due to enter the USA on Tuesday on a K1 Visa, but I am missing the MMR and Tdap shots from the medical I had in the UK.
Having read this thread, I plan to get these shots done at the Fort Greene Health Center, and then visit Dr. Blau to get my I-693 completed.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Do I need to wait until I have my Social Security number to get shots at the Health Center or Dr. Blau's clinic?
2. Dr. Blau's website mentions bringing form I-94: I believe these are now issued electronically. I will be bringing my passport with K1 visa, plus my original medical report from London clinic. Is there anything else I need?

Thanks Nich-Nick, I had literally just found that when I saw your post. Luckily I will be living in NYC, so it looks like I'll have a few options.

Ah, how frustrating, I wish I had read about this before.
So it looks like I might have to have a whole new medical when I get to the US? Is there any way I can avoid this? Maybe get Knightsbridge to add an addendum onto my current medical?

Hello
When I had my medical, I didn't have my complete vaccination records in hand due to a ridiculously long delay at my GP. Specifically, I didn't have documentation to say I'd had the Tdap or MMR shots. The nurse at Knightsbridge told me that I didn't need to get the that day. She said that as long as I had the records in time for my AOS filing then I would be ok. I therefore opted not to pay for them at the time, because I was pretty sure that I'd already had them. My medical report has now been filed and I have an interview date. I am still waiting on my GP for my records, but I'm confident that they will show that I have had the necessary shots.
However, having read some things on the forums recently, I am concerned that because my GP/NHS records haven't been verified at Knightsbridge, they may not be accepted for the AOS (contrary to what I was told by the nurse). Has anyone been through a similar situation recently who can confirm this one way or another?
Thanks!

Thanks Lauren and Carl. You're right, I don't think it's worth the risk, especially around Christmas, so I'll stick with my current date.

I've just received confirmation of my interview date on 18th December. Unfortunately this date clashes with a trip I have planned to visit friends in Germany, for which I have already bought tickets, so I'd like to reschedule the interview.
However, I am planning to fly to New York in early January, to get married on January 8th. This is definitely my main priority, more important than the holiday. If I'm not able to get a different date before New Year, I will keep the 18th December date and cancel my holiday.
So my questions are these:
1. Is it likely that I will be able to get another date before New Year?
2. If I apply for a rescheduled date, do I have to 'give up' my current date and accept whatever new date they give me, which could be after my planned wedding date?
Thanks

I have my medical on Wednesday. I'm hoping to meet a friend for lunch afterwards, so would like to know roughly how long it takes. I'm anticipating about an hour or so?
Thanks

The Canadian information does not apply to you at all.
Go back to the UK GUIDE. Post 2, item 3 describes "packet 3".
Here is a copy of what you get http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?p=5180175 in post 18. That's an older one. Words are changed slightly. No longer says anything has to ne notarized.
Knightsbridge does not ask for any number off your police certificate.
You don't pick an interview date. You can use the contact form to tell them you are not available for interview until January. In that case what is your rush to book a medical? Get your ducks in a proper row by ordering the police certificate and getting your immunizations. You will do better in the long run to do this in an orderly manner like the consulate wishes.
Another thing you may not know...have you ever had any encounter with the police, even just a caution 15 years ago? Order a Subject Access report in addition to the police certificate.
Thanks all for the info regarding Police Certificate and Packet 3.
Just to clarify: I'd like to have the interview as soon as possible and it would take priority over anything else. However, if I am able to have some influence over the date then that would be great.
I can't see any section on the Statement of Applicant readiness form where I can specify dates when I'm available. Is the contact form you mention a separate form?
Also, how long does it normally take from completing the Applicant Readiness form to getting an interview date? I know it probably varies a lot, but if anyone could give a rough indication of the minimum and average time, I'd be grateful.
Thanks for your help, and your patience!

Thanks for your reply. I've seen in the complete K1 guide in the UK portal that it says:
Before you book the medical exam, you should have your UK police certificate and your LND case number.
Maybe it's different in the UK than in Canada? Is anyone from the UK able to confirm this?
Also, I'm a bit confused as to exactly what Packet 3 is: is this basically just the same as the D160 form?
Thanks

Hi all
I have my London case number and have filled out form DS160. I was just going to book my medical when I read that I will need to bring a Police Certificate along. This is very annoying as I've only just realised that I will need the Police Certificate, and I could have sorted it out a long time ago - but never mind!
My question is, can I go ahead and book the medical without having the Police Certificate in hand? Or in other words, will the Medical place require confirmation of my Police Certificate, such as a reference number, at the time of booking? Or can I make the booking without it, and then make sure I have it in time fr the medical?
And one final question - for the interview itself, do you have any choice over the date? I'm likely to be out of the country at various points in December (when I suspect my interview will fall). Do you have to accept the date that is assigned to you? And if you want to choose a different date, does this mean being put to the back of the queue and having to wait weeks/months for a new one?
Thanks!

Hello everyone
We were approved for our NOA2 on 11 September (yay!). I am the beneficiary, and my address has changed since we filed our petition, so I need to change it. From what I've read, I understand I have a couple of options:
1. Contact NVC once our case reaches them to request for them to change the address. I believe I need an NVC case number to do this, which I don't yet have. How/when do I get this?
2. Wait until NVC sends our application on to London and contact them. Similarly I think I would need an LDN case number for this. Same question: how/when do I get this?
I'm not sure which of these is the best option. If anyone has been through this and has any advice, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
Tom

Like many others, we have received the hard copy to say we've been transferred from TSC to CSC. Our NOA1 date is 27/05/14. Good luck all.

We have also been transferred from TSC to our "local office" (my fiancee lives in NY). Don't know exactly what that means yet, seems we're all in the same boat for the moment. Our NOA1 date was 28th May.
Forgot check with I-751. Very close to Deadline
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
Hi all,
I have just noticed I forgot to include the check in the I-751 package I sent to USCIS. My deadline is on Monday September 4, so there is not enough time for me to wait for USCIS to reject the package and resubmit, which would be the normal course of action. Obviously I should have filed earlier, but nothing I can do about that now.
I spoke to a very helpful representative at the USCIS customer service line. He advised not sending a check separately, as VSC would likely reject this. Instead I should wait for a response from VSC. They would likely either:
I think I will probably be fine, but I'm still worried that they could reject my application, then not accept my excuse for late filing. I wanted to start this thread to ask if anyone else has been in a similar situation recently, and if so what happened?
Will update here once I hear from VSC in case this is helpful to others in future.
