  1. This may not work in your situation. It sounds like you are trying to move money to the USA.

What i did eventually was go to my credit union told them I was traveling to a foreign country and was wondering if they had an ATM network I could use during my travels. I took that ATM card and sent it to my fiancé. (Delivered by her aunt) then I sent her the PIN number to the ATM card. Before I did all this the ATM card was for a separate account I setup for "travel". Then as I needed to send money to my fiancé. She could go to the ATM and withdraw directly from my credit union. In this circumstance there were no transaction fees.

  2. It was worth the try. They only said "no".

When I went before my scheduled date I went a little later in the day about 1pm. I wore my business casual clothes and shaved. Initially I was met with resistance. I explained I was in the area and was wondering since I was in area if I couldn't do a walk in to avoid talking another day off work. I was ready to suggest that he call his supervisor. After some delay his supervisor came out looked at our letter and I explained politely that I was in the area and it would save me from taking another day off work. (My business casual clothes and professional demeanor indicating how important my job is as opposed to shorts and flip flops and bad attitude/lazy attitude.) I tried to be as polite and professional with the people there as possible. I work with the public at times and I am aware of the reactions I have at the way people approach seeking favors. Sometimes I am incredulous at the gall of people seeking a favor and treating me like #######. While others are so kind.

  3. No you do not have to have a ceremony. A ceremony is entirely a personal choice. The USCIS is only interested in the paper wedding license issued from your county. whatever pictures you may choose to show of the event is your business. Some people spend huge sums of money and can celebrate this event. Others like yourself may not be in a situation to spend a lot of money. But that does not diminish the value of your marriage. It is your wedding have it your way.

  4. First impressions... She has the anchor baby! She can apply for AOS as mother of the the child. Whatever that takes.

You still have obligations under I-864. What that will be with her giving birth to another mans child is interesting? Yeah what responsibility the father of the child will take? DNA and paternity would be good to establish.

Her ability to get education career and make a living are diminished now she will be caring for a new child.

I'll join the chorus seek legal counsel. I think divorce ASAP is best course.

  5. I would try a walk in at another location. I went to my local uscis location. I told them I was in the area and didn't want to take another day off work (I was dressed in nice clothes). Sometimes when you look like a bum you may get treated like a bum. But if you look professional you will get treated like a professional. The security guard called the supervisor and we got in. I would go later in the day when they are likely to be less busy. The supervisor said they schedule 30 people per hour. I had read other reviews about my location and read of a security guard that was particularly unhelpful. So I timed my visit for lunch time and got there when he was not there. I saw the unhelpful guard described in others post on our way out. :) mission accomplished.

  6. I'm sorry for circumstances. You are in a bad place. You know. If you do leave and file VAWA. You could at some point give him an opportunity to reconcile but you are in circumstance to negotiate. He has all the power now. Once you get on your feet. And you get some of your independence consider if he is a person you would want to spend your time with. See if you will have him visit your place. I wish you the best.

  7. I wonder... how bad are your kidneys? will you need dialysis? will your fiance have insurance for your healthcare? I know dialysis is very expensive. Is the person who is sponsoring you on the I-134 aware of the potential obligation they are taking on? All that fine print where the government says He can use the sponsor resources and the fiance cannot become a public charge.

  8. Wow fascinating topic. No discussion of bride price in our relationship. My fiancé is divorced and her parents have passed away. I have sent her some money for some nice things for herself but nothing that approaches 30k. I have paid expenses for visa application and expect to pay for a plane ticket to the usa. My fiancé has been quiet sensible about money. I have observed her and know that she is careful with what she has as it does not come easy to her.

  9. In sending my fiancé money via western union and talking to the western union tellers... I learned that people will western union themselves money. And pick up at their destination rather than carry the cash. I suppose you could western union money to the U.S. and pick up at home.

I read on trip advisor... Prior to going to China i set up a separate saving and checking account with my credit union. They then issued as ATM I was able to use in chinese ATM systems without transaction fees. I can do online banking to transfer balances between accounts as I need cash.

  10. For what it is worth... I submitted my i-129f petition June 1 and my fiancé just had her interview on nov 25 and passed. I would say we were rather well prepared. I read/studied the guides on the website here and kinda knew what to expect.

So in total it took about 7 months. We are waiting now to have visa and passport in hand before she buys a plane ticket.

Your mileage may vary depending on what USCIS may dig up on your petition... RFE. It seems the people here who have the most trouble seem to have english as a second language and cannot the follow the instructions submitting the forms ( they are not easy). Also some people have some unusual circumstances.

  11. things will start rolling fast for you now. let me see if I can help you. I am still a little confused myself.

    you got your numbers.

    go to ceac at https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx

soon you can do your DS-160 online

    have your confirmation printed.

then you will be able to to the cgi stanley pay a fee. and begin looking at interview dates. with your interview scheduled you can get your physical done. P3 and P4 will be along you can look online what documents to have ready for the final interview I-134.

  12. I think this is how the confusion goes... The I-129f is a nonimmigrant visa. we get processed differently. like lower standard. we do ds-160 i-134. Then later on in the processing we get upgraded to immigrant processing like at cgi stanley. Yes your fiance is indeed immigrating. so you read all this information about DS 260 and i864 but that is required for "immigrants" not us 129f. get it?

  13. Peace of Mind? Get peace of mind and do it yourself and know that it is done right the first time. after talking to all those attorneys you trust one? If you read the guides here you will know what needs to be done and you can do yourself and do it right for your self the first time. There are no papers that need to be notorized, no papers that need to be filed to a special court. just forms to fill out with your information and mailed to an address. An attorney does not have this special information. he gets it from you. he licks the stamp and charges you $$$$!!!! You can be proactive with your information. you can call NVC and get case number and IIN and start things moving. Attorney will wait till letter comes from NVC. save yourself a few weeks call NVC as soon as NOA2 comes. you dont need attorney unless you have complicated past i guess.

  14. I wonder about this whole I-134 thing... Why should I show an entire year of bank statements? I give them a few statements with a sustainable balance. (What is a year going to show) I have two months of cash on hand. I have a job I have been at for 17 years. they can see three years of tax transcripts my income. why don't they just ask for a credit report! you know the other thing about this application is it is not adjusted for age. young people starting out are at a disadvantage. they are full of potential while older folks are perhaps able to meet poverty standards more easily after an established life.

  15. there is much you can do without the P4 letter.

With your interview confirmation letter you can get your physical scheduled. my fiance got her physical done in shanghai. She did not go to Guangzhou. you have your DS-160 confirmation page, I-134, documents listed from P3 birth, divorce, no marriage, police, duplicate 129f, more evidence of relation-further chats. originals of NOA1 and NOA2. Did I forget anything?

  16. going forward you may want to use skype or yahoo to create a record of messages.

my fiance will take with her a printed out text of our messages on skype for the last 7 months to the interview. It is 8 point font with zero line spacing and and 1/4 inch margins. not really meant to be read but to be shown... evidence. I don't want to give them any reason to deny. If they choose to read they may but they will need their glasses. lol!

  17. i dont think there is a problem. they are always going to be slow...

if you have your guz# why not fill in DS-160 go to https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

after ds 160 is done print confirmation

this is cgi stanley they manage things for consulate

    then http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/index.html?firstTime=Noto pay fee

funny thing is i-129f is nonimmigrant visa at cgi stanley you become immigrant

then you can make appointment at consulate (careful now are you ready)

with appointment letter you can make appointment for medical exam.

then you can catch your breath and get ready for interview... you have all your papers?

  18. sometimes I am disappointed when I hire professionals to do a job for me because after reading information online and learning what should be done and what they are not doing I become disappointed and wish I was doing it myself and saving my hard earned money.

If your application is not complicated save your money and spend it on a party and friends.

if you run into trouble you cant get out of hire an attorney.

  19. sorry for your denial.

my fiance had to go back to her hometown. she got "whitebook" copies of birth certificate, divorce certificate, no marriage, they were all certified and translated. I put copies of these in duplicate I-129f i prepared for her to take to the interview. And more orignals of these are not a bad idea so when she does immigrate she has originals in usa.

It would have been helpful for her to get a police certificate at the same time. the police certificate is good for a year and used at the interview. if all goes as planned you can file the I129f and get to the interview within a year.
