  1. CopaMom's timeline reddened! Congrats.

Thanks! My daughter and I both had our oath ceremony on Friday. She did a name change (changed from my maiden name to my married name), so our ceremony was at the courthouse. Phoenix court house is HUGE!!! 71 people from 41 countries (something like that). It was so much fun getting to down town Phoenix for 8am 2 days before the SuperBowl! LOL Lots of people and activities going on here made for lots of traffic :)

So glad my journey is done! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. :)

  2. My daughter and I had our interviews today. We passed!!

It was a little stressful getting there... we were rear ended on the freeway (other car swerved to miss us and only clipped the back side, but his car slammed into the median and flipped a couple times!). Luckily no one was hurt, including the other guy. My daughter's car needs repairs, especially the back tire and rim, which made the car undrivable. We were really early, so after all was said and done, we were only 10 minutes late. My husband came and got us and drove us the rest of the way there. Her car was towed (I was driving her car because mine was getting the brakes replaced).

Let me see if I can remember our questions (the interviewer interviewed us at the same time, which was nice. He asked her 6 questions and me a different 6 questions:

If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

What does the President’s Cabinet do?

Name one branch or part of the government.
We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

That's all I can remember... my daughter had "What's the rule of law?", What ocean is on the west coast?", "What's the name of the national anthem?"... and that's all I can remember,

I told him I was amused we had to do the English test (read and write a sentence) since our first language is English.

What an exciting day! Our oath ceremony should be in 4-6 weeks. :)

  3. Guys,

I have been inline for interview passed 90 days, (holtsville, NY Office), when I called uscis they said, just create an info pass. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

I am in Phoenix. I was inline for interview for just over 4 months before getting my interview notification. I called at about the 110 day mark and was told to wait another 6 months. Luckily it didn't take that long. Some of the offices are backed up... Phoenix is processing citizenship applications in 6-7 months.

  4. Lovely CopaMom! See, it didn't take 5-6 more months;)

Initially my heart sunk when I was told 5-6 months. But then common sense kicked in and I figured that person had no clue what she was talking about! I checked out the trackitt website and found someone with a timeline 2 weeks ahead of mine and they got their notice of interview 2 weeks ago. So I suspected this would be the week!

  5. I had my oath ceremony today and it was a very emotional experience! I'm finally a proud citizen of this great country!

Thank you all for the support! My visa journey is done.

Can someone please update my timeline? Thanks!

    Congrats!!

FINALLY!! Got a text this afternoon that my interview has been scheduled! And my daughter's too! Woo hoo!

  6. I saw your posts and thought I'd give you some hope. Here's my timeline:

    UserName.......|Sent.....|ChkCashd.|NOA......|Fprints..|Inline...|Int Ltr..|Intview..|Oath.....|FieldOffice

Note that I was waiting for my interview letter for 3 months as well. Hang in there, I'm sure yours is coming any day now!

    Good luck!!

You got your interview letter 3 months after being placed inline. I have been inline almost 4 months now. :( Everyday I think... maybe today is the day! LOL Trying to be patient. I don't have travel plans until next summer (and we just drive to Mexico), so I have time. I would just like to get it done! :)

  7. Copamom, have you looked in other month threads to see other applications with Phoenix as the field office and what are their status? It'd be good to know if this delay is particular to your case or generalized to your field office. If it seems it's just you, I'd make an infopass appointment.

Yes, I have looked in the threads for Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May, July....

Unfortunately, it seems like no one else in Phoenix is on this message board, or they post in the beginning and never come back to update their info. I think I found one in all those months. If I recall, her timeline was "normal" (~5 months). I can't remember exactly what month she was from. :(

My daughter and I applied at the same time (she's an adult) and her application is stuck in limbo with mine. So it's not just mine.

What is an infopass appointment? I have heard people talk about that before, but wasn't sure what it was.

  8. It's unclear to me what they mean when they say that they are processing applications from March 8th.

Most people assume that this means that they haven't started working on applications submitted on March 9th. So if you submitted your application on April 9th, you're still one month away from having your application looked at.

I'm not sure that this is true. I think it's more likely that what they mean is that they haven't finished working on all the applications submitted on March 8th. This means that they've started on later applications submitted in March, April, May, etc., but for some reason, they are still working on a few applications from March 8th which have been held up.

So to be honest, I don't think that the processing times mean anything at all, because if my guess is right (and it's just a guess), you can submit your application in May and have it approved in September and if you call them the day after you're approved, they'll say that they're processing applications submitted on March 8th, because some poor guy or girl's application from March 8 is stuck in the process.

Thanks - what you said makes sense. I honestly don't think calling in is all that helpful. She didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I looked up the processing times myself. So they don't have any way of finding out specific information to my case. Just generalized answers.

  9. CopaMom, I am not sure I understand. What do you mean 5-6 months? Are you talking about a N400 application? What is on March 8th? It shouldn't take that long and once you hit the processing time period you can do a service request.

Yes, N400. She said to wait ANOTHER 5-6 months from now and if I don't have my interview yet, to call back. My daughter and I did biometrics in early July. Nothing since then. March 8th is the date the USCIS says they are processing applications from. I applied 3 months after that. So in theory, I would have another 3 months.

  10. I called USCIS again and spoke to an agent. She said the Phoenix office has been processing applications from March 8th since August 31st. That seems strange. That is the same thing it says on USCIS site for processing times. Seriously? They have been processing applications from that one day for 2 months? I find that hard to believe. She told me to give it another 5-6 months and if I don't hear anything, to call back. Splendid.

  11. It's 5:30am in Phoenix and I tried calling the USCIS about my case (STILL waiting for my interview letter :ranting: ) since it's been about 111 days. I guess it's a local (toll free) number I called because it was just a recording and they said to call back after 8am. I thought it would be national and the east coast operators would answer. Oh well. I'll try again later this morning.

  12. It seems like the Phoenix office is at a standstill :ranting: I am 3 months and one week from being placed "in line". The USCIS processing times look like I am still over a month and a half away from an interview. (Hard to really tell because it was last updated 8/31/14). Trying to be patient... I have checked the previous months' filers and there haven't been any Phoenix filers (that update their status). So I have little to compare to. :crying: :crying:

  13. Usually, atleast 30 days between the interview letter and interview date.

Agree on the 5 month timeline.

USCIS Goal is 5 months. Currently, on an average it's taking 5.5 months but it really depend on your local office processing time.

Check processing time at this link for your city: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/Init.do

I check the processing times on a regular basis. Problem is, they haven't updated it in 2 months. :(

  14. Hi guys,

To those of you who have already have their interviews: What supporting documents did you guys bring with you? I'm applying based on 3 year rule. My yellow letter said to bring only ID and passport. The appointment letter looks pretty general, i put together everything from the document check list, but was wondering what kind of proof of marital union did you guys have. I'm taking our joint: lease, bank statement, taxes, health insurance, electric/gas bill, e-net/tv bill, car insurance, plus a few photos. Is that good enough or am i forgetting something? Thanks!!

My husband and I don't really have any bills that are in both our names. All our household bills are on one name or the other. Our mortgage is through his Dad (but I do have a written and notarized contract for that loan with both our names). I also have our joint bank account info. Other than that, nothing has both our names on it. Not sure what to do.

In your case, it sounds like you have more than enough evidence :) (Except marriage license and birth certificates of your kids, if any)

  15. TO: All

Always “FOLLOW” instruction. Every form has number according to your AOS needs. And every form # has a corresponding instruction—“Follow it.” Also, when you receive any document from USCIS, make sure to read it until your heart is content so that you can clearly follow what is instructed, or you will receive an RFE, or you application is set aside.

    Good luck…

You quoted an earlier post from me, with the above response. I didn't ask a question in that post. Not sure how your reply involves me.... Sorry, just confused.

  16. Just checked the processing times, and it seems that Phoenix is falling behind and not meeting the 5 month goal. :(

Field Office Processing Dates for Phoenix AZ as of: July 31, 2014

    Form Form Name Processing Timeframe:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status ....February 25, 2014
    N-400 Application for Naturalization...................................... .....................February 12, 2014
N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship ........................................5 Months

  17. "" Any ideas why would some have yellow letter before being in line for interview ? Will that affect their timeline? ""

A friend of mine forgot to include his tax papers to his file, received a yellow letter even before his fingerprint appointment letter was sent to him ... The yellow letter is usually a reminder of a close interview date or a request for more documents needed by USCIS to process the case....I don't think it s something to be scared of.

I got my yellow letter a month ago... about 3 weeks after being in line. On the application, it lists various things to include to prove marriage. I chose a couple, but they requested I bring in the items I didn't choose to include with my application. (I sent birth certificates of our kids and marriage license). They wanted tax transcripts. Why ask for this OR this OR this? They should have asked for this AND this AND this. Anyway... I agree... yellow letter is nothing to be afraid of :)
