  1. I am in Houston, too. Good luck to you- I look forward to hearing what the result was.

Everything went fine this morning. Somebody said, that apparently the TSC has preprinted all their 797 NOA with the 'outdated?' Central Green address, although processing a new I-551 is resposibility of the Northpoint Address. But I will remain confused since I know both buildings now inside/out...who is doing what...but hopefully, processing and sending my new (8 year remaining) card will be fast, because I have now a stamp in my passport only (valid for 12 months). They kept the original approval notice but, fortunately, I made a copy yesterday (i do not want to have any potential gaps ever in government correspondence).

  2. My Green Card is in my married name and my passport is in my old name. I am assuming that if I carry my marriage certificate I wont have any problems at the POE on return. Tickets are in my Passport name.

I have a UK Passport and I thought I would leave it to near the expiry date before I get my name changed on it.

You would assume that carrying your marriage certificate would be proof enough...and it should be but, you never know....I can imagine some comments at re-entry like "Ma'am, you need to get your passport ammended". The only other person checking immigration validity is at the check in counter before departing to the U.S. - they might wonder, too.

My wife is the USC and therefore did have her U.S. passport ammended - of course immigration doesn't give her any grief but it is always at the check in counter...bording passes are - of course - in our common last name.

    Have a good trip,

    Daniel

  3. The Approval of removal of conditional status envelope contained two documents:

    1. I-797C formal letter stating "approved" and to show up for processing of new (without conditions) Permanent Resident Card (I-551) at

    U.S. Department of Justice

    U.S. Immigration and Naturalization

    16504 Central Green

    Houston, TX 77032

    2. Important Information (Form# FC-057 TSC)

To schedule my appointment with infopass on www.uscis.gov.

Scheduling my appointment lead to a confirmation document, stating the location of my appointment TOMORROW morning at:

    126 Northpoint Drive

    Housotn, TX 77060

    "Lobby"

I am confused. I will certainly go to that scheduled appointment tomorrow on Northpoint Drive and hope that they can process everything necessary. Worst thing they can do is tell me that I need to show up at the other location, right?

Sorry for this much detail but, dealing with the government I would like to be as accurate as possible.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  4. Isn't the receipt number near the upper left corner of the NOA? It should begin with 3 letters.

    G

That's were it was - I believe - on other NOAs, too...strangely not on this document. Hmmm, I'll try to see if I can still schedule an appointment properly. I just don't want to take any chances - the more accurate all applicants are, the easier the process. Fortunately, I had no trouble at all during my 3 year process - besides incredible amounts of time filling out all proper forms and gather documents - with 110% triple proof reading - German accuracy :-)

Anyhow, G, I like your signature:

"Just as our DNA is unique, so too is our visa processing experience."

  5. I sent in the fom for lifting the conditional status of permanent residency (I-751) 90 days prior to expiration. The I797C, Notice of Action, that I received last week, contains the approval and the order to obtain a new alien registration receipt card (Form I-551). To do so, appear in person at the Service Office below (INS office in Houston). The envelope contained also another document "How to make an appointment at this INS office" (form FC-057 TSC). It contains the request to schedule an appointment with InfoPass [http://infopass.uscis.gov/] which requires a "Receipt Number" which I cannot find on the I-797C. I do find the "File Number" which is my Alien#.

Does anybody have any suggestion what to fill in "Receipt Number" to schedule an appointment?

    Thanks,

    Daniel
