I notice it says to apply for SS card first in the Visa timeline here but I'm wondering if I should wait until we've had my new wife's name legally changed before applying for one or get one in her name now and have it changed?
Hope this is the appropriate place for this question.
Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Thanks for moving this post to the correct forum.

I want to add that the flight agent I talked to recommended we talk to the same airline at the same time as she buys ticket at the airport so I can give her flight number to the agent I'm talking to to set up a round trip that would put me on the same flight coming back as hers which seems like a pretty good idea.

I appreciate all the great advice and tips! Very helpful! And I wanted to update you all on what's happening (let me know if I should post this in a new thread? Also I still haven't updated my itinerary because we've been so busy with plans, moving, etc but plan to as soon as I can)
My fiancee has her K1 visa and we're looking at flights but I found out from the airlines she has to buy her own flight at Cebu Airport then I have to immediately buy a seat on the same flight back because I want to fly there to stay with her family for a week then fly her back with me to the US so she won't be traveling alone.
This seems tricky, have any of you had any experiences doing this? Any advice for me? I'm hoping for a flight for one from Las Vegas to Cebu and and for two coming back to Las Vegas (not going through Manila due to the risk of typhoons)
Thanks so much,
Bruce

Thanks so much to both of you for answering my question and for the additional tip about advanced parole!.
I'll try to fill in the timeline this weekend.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this question.
My fiancee from Philippines has had her visa approved but is worried that she "won't be able to leave the house and can be subject to prison" after we marry until she gets her green card which is a lengthy process but I've told her that she will be able to go anywhere in America, just can't leave America until she gets her green card.
Am I correct or is there anything we should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for your help

Just wanted to update you that we're both still taking turns checking for available appointments using c4c, a couple have shown up but were taken before we could take them.
We're also hoping a block of appointments will become available soon.

24/7
Openings show up at all hours everyday of the week
Thanks for answering so quickly, will keep checking.

Just wondering if I should only check online when the Embassy is open from Monday to Friday or do interview appointments become available 24/7?
Thanks,
-
c4c is asking to select text first before I can set a custom menu. Do you select the entire website or all of the blue menu on left?
Thanks
-
Great, I'll try that c2c with firefox like you suggested. It's a good tip.
Thanks again

Will it show up while you're logged in or do you have to refresh the home page?
Thanks,

Just did a Visa Journey search and found threads related to this issue. We'll keep trying until an interview appointment is available.
Thanks,
Bruce

It seems they fixed it recently because it accepted the same MRV receipt number and allowed us to proceed but now it says"there are currently no appointments available".
A web search shows average wait time for appointment to become available is 7 days? We're checking regularly in the hopes of getting an interview appointment.

We're most worried about the interview and medical timelines.
Her medical was completed 5/19/14, does this mean her interview has to be rescheduled by 6/19/14 (supposed to be within 7 to 30 days of interview?) or she'll have to do her medical again?
If her medical will still be good then we can relax.

Thanks, will wait for them to hopefully fix this issue.
I checked the PI forum and don't see this thread?

Hello,
My filipina fiancee and I scheduled her 6/2/2014 interview online for F-2 visa class by mistake (should be K-1 visa class) and we need to reschedule her interview for K-1 visa class.
We're not able to reschedule her K-1 visa interview online because it won't let us use the same MRV Receipt number.
I've emailed ivmanilareplies@state.gov (correct email? It was given to me when I called their office) and it says the response time would be within 7 working days.
Her medical was completed 5/17/14 (supposed to be within 7 to 30 days of the interview?)
Any suggestions on how we can help this process along. Phone numbers or different emails?
Should I just pay the $240 again for K-1 visa interview or wait for them to hopefully re-assign the payment from F-2 to K-1 class visa?
Thanks for any help you can give us, this is a great forum.

Completely overlooked the I-94, there are so many forms and documents to keep track of during these processes.
Is there a list here similiar to the visa timeline?
Thanks again
