Yes, I called on 10/5 to request a status update - they put me on hold for 30 minutes! - and then they said I should wait another 30 days if I don't receive the letter by then to call back. Lo and behold, later that day my status changed! I think they lost or misplaced my application and when I called they found it.... Oh well, glad this will be over soon!

Congrats Jeepers!!! I was just going to drop you a little note...but I see your oath letter finally arrived

After waiting since 8/4 and my status changing online to interview will be scheduled on 8/21, it finally changed to Oath Letter sent on 10/5 and I receive the letter in the mail on 10/8. Two applicants from the June board that also filed at TSC and had their interviews in Memphis are already citizens - not sure why mine took so much longer. Anyways, better late than never - my oath is scheduled for 10/29 We are also in the process of moving right before that.... Haha! I have been here 9 years and we have not moved and right before the very end, we move. So I guess I get to fill out one more form for the USCIS before it's all said and done.

Congrats to all who've already had their oath ceremony and good luck to those still waiting!

Not to get you all agitated, I think you should give them a call and ask to speak to a Tier-2 supervisor...and see what they say. Won't cost you a thing

I have been following your timeline since you filed in Memphis as well - my interview was 8/4 and I don't have a letter yet. Now, I'm getting a bit worried since you both had your interview after me and are getting the oath letter first. There were no issues - I was told by the interviewer that I passed and got the letter confirming that I passed and he said it would 60-90 days..... Did you receive your letter this week? What date is your interview? (I don't see it on there yet)

I have been following your posts too...my oath ceremony will be in Memphis. Weird you are yet to receive yours. The lady who interviewed me told me Memphis office was current on oath ceremony scheduling...I know it sucks to wait but am sure it will come

Not at all...if it says one just give them one and vice versa. e.g. What is the “rule of law”? ▪ Everyone must follow the law. ▪ Leaders must obey the law. ▪ Government must obey the law. ▪ No one is above the law. All you need to do is give the IO one out of these answers

All - There are some questions in the 100 civics questions booklet which say name any one or name any two.... so I get that... but for others do you have to give all the answers listed or any one is fine? Might be a stupid question to some but its just not obvious to me so rather ask. Thanks in advance for your replies...

and with that, I'm recommend for approval. ceremony is before the end of the month so I didn't ask about same day oath! my interviewer was still sleepy and grumpy at first. but he warmed up soon after. he verified app questions, asked for my birth,certificate, asked 6 questions, I read, wrote, then. he totaled up some points and then said congratulations. lasted maybe 15 minutes.

Interview Experience (Based on 3yrs marriage to a USC)

I arrived at the Memphis office 30 mins before my appointment (8:30am), so I stayed in the car until 8:15am. Went through the security formality and checked in @ Window #6. I was then asked to go wait in the interview waiting room and napped a little till I was called, which I believe was @ 8:40am.

I am pretty sure you will do fine...it'll be a cakewalk. "Dont worry Be Happy :joy:" -- You have come this far to let your nerves get the best of you..Woosah! And Goodluck!

Two more nights before my interview and I am getting anxious. I just hope my nerves doesn't get the best of me.

I received notification on 8/11 that they placed me in line for the oath.

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number **** with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your recommended approval. Big Congrats @Jeepers!!!! My interview is also in Memphis

Hey Everyone! more about my interview from this morning.

Since Memphis is about a 3 hr drive from our house, and I had an early appointment we decided to make it a fun day out, we left yesterday; visited a safaripark on the way and booked a hotel at about 10 minutes from the USCIS office. That way I could enjoy a full night sleep and be rested at the interview.

My interview was at 7.30 and we arrived around 7, the doors did not open untill 7.15.

Because the interview letter said limited seating; my husband stayed in the car with our son. It was not busy at all, and in hindsight they could have waited inside, but they had their tablets, snacks and drinks; so they were content with waiting in the car (no food&drink in the waitingroom!)

After security checkpoint, interview candidates were told to go to a separate room, I was the third person to place my interview letter in the slot. And then the waiting began; it seemed like forever, people that arrived after I did (one lady with an 8 am appointment) were called in before me, so it looks like they assign you to an officer before you arrive. I had brought a book with me, CNN was on the tv and people were playing on their phones and tablets as well.

I was called in a little bit before 8.

Had to swear to tell the truth, the officer wanted to see my GC, passport, marriage certificate. He then said I would qualify under the 5 year rule and that would be easier; I explained because my GC was marrage based, I figured I needed to choose that option, he said it was no big deal, 5 years would just be easier. I had to sign my passport photos that I had sent in with the application.

He went over the application with me, checking dates out of the country, my husbands dob, repeating all the questions regarding military/groups/arrests, etc. (part 11 on n400)

He told me to not say the words "so help me god" when I take the oath, and crossed that out on part 17 before having me sign.

I had to read: How many Senators does the United States have? And I had to write "We have 100 Senators."

My questions

Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

How old do citizens need to be to be able to vote?

What happened on Sept. 11?

What ocean is on the West Coast?

What is the name of our national anthem?

and

What is the "rule of law" ? -- Now, this one is funny, because I get things confused, I said "the constitution" , and then immediately corrected myself, "oh no, I am sorry, I ment to say ... no one is above the law"

upon which the officer replied "except for Steven Seagal" (movie reference )

That was it, he gave me a form saying congratulations, I was recommended for citizenship; he said the ceremony will be between 60 & 90 days and walked me out.

Getting nervous!

Well, let me rephrase, I am not nervous about the actual interview itself, the thing I am worried about most is my request for a modified Oath; I made sure my paperwork was signed and notarized; it should not be a big deal and should not be the reason for a delay in taking the Oath, but still

(request to not recite 'so help me god' )

I guess we will find out!!!!

Funny fact I did not realize just until tonight....

Interview is Friday ... It is also our 10 year firstdate anniversary! ! !
