Congratulations!!
The wait is over! Almost... I know we still got a long way to go somewhat but our case was approved today! NOA-2 Received.
Thanks everyone for the kind support and help along the way!!!
-
Hello again everybody,
I just received three text messages from USCIS saying my case has been received. Out of three texts, one receipt number is different from the other two texts. Is that normal?
Why do they sent two receipt numbers? At the moment I am just assuming one for I-485 and the other for I-765, is that correct assumption?

As far as I have seen so far, once your file has reached to CSC, they will expedite your case and give you priority for processing. Hang in there, CSC processes them quicker than any other centers.

Thank you all for your replies. Guess we will just have to wait for her EAD or GC. Until then she'll just have to carry her passport as her id.
You might just have to wait awhile until the AOS is done and she gets her green card. My wife uses her international drivers license though, it keeps my insurance rate down by not having a crazy asian lady, three of the worst driving mixes you can put together. I personally won't even let her drive a golf cart with me in it.
Rules are different from state to state - here in MA I was able to get a MA license with SSN and the NOA1 for AOS and it's valid for the normal MA time span, not limited to one year because of the NOA1 or anything. It probably helped that I went to the Boston RMV rather than one in a little town and there specifically to the place where they did conversions from foreign licenses (didn't need to take a test with my German license which was nice) so if it is imperative that your wife drive ASAP I would wait for NOA1 - which shouldn't take thaaaaat long - and then go to the main DMV in LA (check their website, maybe they comment on foreign licenses, that's the office I'd go to).
Good luck!
K1 is a single entry visa so that is done and gone.
Wait for EAD.

My wife came to this country back in late March with K1 visa, and we got married beginning of April. Yesterday, we went to CA DMV to apply for her CA ID. Her I-94 expires in June, so we were told she must have at least 60 days remaining validity in order for it to be get an ID. We were told to get an extension.
Right now, she has her SSN. We are going to mail in her AOS packet tomorrow.
What should we do now?
Was this mentioned somewhere, and I may have missed it?

Thank you!
Congratulations.

Mine took 82 days from my NOA1 date to get it approved and received our NOA2. A total of 171 days from my NOA1 date to interview day. Actually make that 134 days since my fiancee was still in US on visit visa when embassy finished processing our K1 petition.
Hi all,
received my NOA1 confirmation on 12/16/15. Just called the USCIS customer service line today and was told that the California service center was running about 5 months in terms of processing K1 I-129f. Was curious if other K1 petitioners were seeing 5 month processing times as well for I-129f submitted in December 2014 destined for the California service center.
Not that I'm impatient but the fiancée is pregnant (Dekichatta kekkon 出来ちゃった結婚) and due in June. I need to figure out what to do if I can't get her to the US by the time the baby is born. Appreciate anyone sharing their experience on this subject.
Thanks!

Thanks. Well, it wasn't as quick like some of the other filers. CSC for some reason or the other, took longer to approve mine. However, I got lucky once my paperwork arrived at NVC and the embassy.
First, congratulations. I really mean that.
Second, how the hell did you get through so quickly? Your filing date is one day after ours and we're still awaiting NOA2.
-
Thank you. Your fiancee will do great. The most important thing is to make sure she has all the requested documents, photos, and communication history. Based on what my fiancee was telling me, people fail to provide those proof.
1 question? but says so much congratulations! hopefully my fiancee in riyadh only gets asked that question as well..
-
Thank you all! We both are very happy with the outcome.
Congratulations! Glad everything went well.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Congratulations on your Fiancée's approval.
Congratulations!!!
Congrats!

Aug 2104 filer here...the embassy just approved my fiancée's petition. Visa will be available for pick up tomorrow.
It has been a long stressful journey. At last I can sigh a little relieve, and excited to know that I will be with her soon!
From what she told me, they just asked her about me and why she loves me. Only lasted 10 mins.

Each embassy has its own procedure, but in our case, we had to wait until the status on CEAC says "READY". Secondly, they called us for medical appointment. My fiancee had to choose from one of their two appointed locations. This way they could send necessary paperwork to the chosen facility.
Hi guys! So after long months of waiting we finally got our case complete! So I'm wondering if I can do my medical already without my interview letter yet, will SLEC let me? I already registered online and planning to do it by next week! Any thought about this? Thanks in Advance!

Well, I am not sure on whether a friend can co-sponsor or not. So far, all the posts I have seen on here involves a family member. You might want to start a new thread to ask if others have had their friends co-sponsor. Just in my opinion, if you do plan to ask your friend for co-sponsor, you should seriously think carefully and make sure your friend knows what he/she is getting into. Your friend will be ultimately responsible for your fiancee's financials once she gets here. I believe it would be until your fiancee gets her green card or longer.
I will find a job within a month. I don't have any family member in USA. I am only one who live in US. I have a friend who can co- sponsor if I ask to him. how about a friend? Can he co-sponsor ?
-
Oh no. So sorry to hear. Although I am not quite familiar with the procedure, I have read posts on here where people have co-sponsors. Can you ask your family or relatives to co-sponsor for you perhaps?
Sure, I will keep you updated as I have more info. Hopefully soon.
Thank nsh. I will do what you said and please provide me if you got more information.Unfortunately I got laid off last friday and I don't know how to provide my employment letter when she goes to interview.
-
Thank you. I try to do my best to help out any of the VJ members on here.
Yes, you are right. Mine took longer than other CSC Aug 2014 filers at USCIS for no reason at all. NVC and the embassy came to my rescue. I was pleasently surprised that the embassy has been very nice to me.
I don't know how far you are into your journey, but let me know if you need anything. I will try and answer as much as I know.
nsh, sounds like, based on your detailed timeline, you had a rough go of it with USCIS initially, but then NVC acted very quickly on their end. It's very thoughtful of you to help other Petitioners along their journey as you go through yours.
-
Congratulations Ko Zaw,
For me, mine was approved on Oct 29th. NVC processed my paperwork on Nov 20th. By Nov 24th, US Embassy in Yangon had already typed up their instructional sheet (found out that later on). I e-mailed them on Dec 3rd inquiring about my paperwork and they replied within a few hours saying my fiancee can pick them up.
My suggestion for you is after two weeks from now, start checking status of your case by going to the website below. Your case number starts with RNG******. Make sure you select "IMMIGRANT VISA (IV)". Once it shows "READY", e-mail US Embassy. They will let you know when to pickup.
https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx
She will need to do the following....
1) Fill out DS-160 online and print out confirmation page.
2) Fill out DS-157, DS-158, and Additional Page. They will provide her with the forms.
3) Need 2 passport size photos.
4) Original birth certificate, original notarized translation, and copy of each documents.
5) Original marriage/divorce/death from previous marriage (if any).
6) Original police certificate in Burmese and original notarized translation certificate.
7) Affidavit of Support I-134, which includes your W2, 1040, bank balance dating 1 yr, current employment letter. Also get letters from your bank. Ask them for verification letter.
8) Any court records (if any).
Drop them off at the embassy guard shack once she has put together. If they are satisfy with your documents, they will call your fiancee in two days and ask her to go for her medical exam. They will ask her to choose from International SOS or Parami hospital. Medical costs about approximately 170 USD. You can also pay in Kyats. Oh, and also be sure to have three more passport size photos to take them with her for medical.
Later on she will also need 265 USD for visa fees. She doesn't need it right away. I think she would have to pay when she goes for her interview. I will update you once I find out myself. Good luck!!
Hope this helps!
Approved today !!!! :joy: what is next?????
-
Oh, I see. Thank you!
P-4 is your interview letter

Each embassy may be different, but in my case, when I saw "Ready" status on NVC website, I e-mailed the embassy. They replied within a few hours saying my fiancee can pickup her instruction sheets (aka Packet 3 on VJ). Of course, at the time my fiancee was in US visiting me so we had someone pickup the instruction sheets from the embassy.
Upon her return to Burma, she put together all the required documents and dropped it off at the embassy. Two days later she received a call from the embassy, asking her to go for medical exam at one of their two designated locations. She had to pick one so that they could send paperwork to her desired location.
She has been told that her test results will be forwarded directly to the embassy. We are now waiting for the embassy to call her back with an interview date.
Hope this info helps a bit.
My case says READY as well nvc sent our case on the 8th we can't set up an interview UNTILL the papers get there manually :/ my fiance has all the needed documents ready So I hope it doesn't take too long .. Good luck to you and everyone else on this journey ..( nervousssss for interview )
We initially filed in Feb 2014..our case update was Dec 24 2014 and we are now with our new case number , my curiosity is....
MTL..........01 MTL READY
MTL..........02 MTL READY
It says our case is ready to be scheduled . ...if you have already scheduled your appointment...???
Please help me understand this..should I call THEM to schedule my appointment ? I haven't received anything in the mail yet and thus was dated Dec 24, 2014 -
Filling out my time line and I notice there is an entry for packet 4. What is that packet suppose to be?
-
Great, thank you. Appreciate it very much.
It will be understood that you may not have your w2 by then. They typically want to see the last year's bank deposits. For us,since we were in the same boat, I sent the last year's up to current pay stubs proving income. I also sent the last 5 years tax records showing for the past 5 years I was above the required poverty level for support. You just need to prove without a doubt you are currently mailing a sufficient income. Your track record will help also if it was sufficient
-
That is not true. You can still call and would not affect your case. I called about three to four times and I was approved within 81 days.
No we have not called USCIS yet, cause they say TCS process is 5,9 months and if you call them earlier than that your case will be pushed back. We are just hoping we get approved soon
-
I think we are in different situation.
First off all, you'll be with her. For me and OP (I am assuming), that won't be the case.
Secondly, in my fiancee's case, she has seen her sibling just a week ago when she came to US on a visit visa.
I totally disagree if my wife had family here I will want her to see them no telling how long it been since they got to visit. it not just about getting your love one here it also about sharing your life together their family is your family and to think that stopping to visit family is a slap in a face I am sorry but i just do not feel that way
-
It may or may not be an issue from immigration point of view, but morally I think it is wrong for any beneficiary to take this type of action. After all, you and all petitioners alike spend our precious time, energy, and hard earned money on petitions so that we could be with our love ones. Instead of a thank you or appreciation from them by seeing their love ones first, they would prefer to see their family instead. To me, as a petitioner, it would feel like a "slap in the face" so to speak. Couldn't they just do it the other way round, if it is not a life or death situation. Is that asking too much from the petitioners?? I don't think so!
Sorry Sally, my fiancee (beneficiary) and I had a similar conversation like yours and it made me upset.
My fiance the beneficiary plans after he passes his interview he would like to stop in Detroit Mi to see his brother then for them as family to drive down to Tx to my residence will this have any negative effect on the POE ????

Currently immigration timeline indicates they (TSC) are working on July 31 2014 petitions.
However, that date changes every day. Sometimes it goes forward once a day, sometimes it goes backwards.
I know how you must be feeling. I went through the same thing. It is very hard especially when I see people who filed
later got approved sooner than us.
Here is how accurate this timeline we have here. This is for CSC petitions though.

Two Case Numbers
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Oh okay. Thank you!
Do you know why we would be given two numbers?
