I mailed in my wife's i-751 packet on August 8, 2017 from California. I presumed it would be processed at the California office, is this correct? Any idea on turn around time? I'm hearing 19 - 20 months, does that sound right?

Hello everyone,
Thanks to the great guides an advice here we had our K-1 visa approved, no RFE's, and my fiance is now my wife. We got married April 2, 2015. So I'm following the flowchart here in the K-1 guide section and it says that after we marry change name with Social Security. We tried. Social Security said they couldn't because her new name is not the name with immigration. They said the "SNAP" system denied it but we could do the paperwork and they would submit by hand for further verification. What should we do? If we wait to change her name with Social Security what name should be put on the AOS paperwork?
Thanks
everyone

I've been checking the update of my visa status at 2go. Usually it will only say "invalid"
But now it is "invalid" under pick up date column.
Mine is for pick up.
Is there something wrong?
Please do share your experiences when tracking 2go too.
thank you.
Chaerandaria,
What number did you use on 2GO's website? If you used your passport number did you include the 2-letters at the beginning? If you used your case number did you include the "MNL"? I try everything and I get an Invalid number.
Thanks

ISSUED!
Congratulations and good luck everyone!

Did you purchased her a ticket already?
When will be her flight?
Haven't purchased it yet, waiting until we have her visa. If seats are available she'll probably fly Philippine Airlines nonstop from Manila to Los Angeles. We'll know more once we have her visa.
Best of luck everyone

Whoever has a POE in Texas, Los Angeles or New Orleans as their destination.
Please let me know. I am looking for a travel buddy.
Thank you.
My fiance's POE is Los Angeles.

The visa processing steps after visa interview are as follows:
The first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa
The first READY is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance
The second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork
The second READY is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery
Upon the second READY, it will be sent out within a few days. These what seem to be "normal" times. Your times may differ.
No one can tell anyone when they will get there visa. There has been some who received in two days and others more than three months. Yes, normal delivery is around 3 weeks if the sun, moon and mars are lined up so dont run out and buy any airline tickets till your visa is in your hands.
My fiance's interview was December 12, on that day the CEAC website said "Ready"
Today, December 19, the CEAC website changed to "Administrative Processing" also saying
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved after administrative processing, your passport will be delivered by our contracted courier to the address you specified when you booked your interview.
Is this the first or second AP? Was anyone at the interview actually told their visa was approved?
By the way her POE is Los Angeles.
Thanks
Best of luck to everyone.

Yay! Great news for the three of us!!!!
Hoping it will be AP by Monday.
What's your POE?
Keep us updated.
I just realized ours says "Administrative Processing" and then

I hope it doesn't really take a couple of weeks!
Those interviewed on December 12, did they tell you that you were approved or anything?

I checked my visa status at CEAC as of 3pm this afternoon.
It is still READY but the STATUS UPDATED DATE changed already. From December12 now December19.
Hoping and praying it will be AP by Monday.
Good luck to us.
I just checked ours and it also says STATUS UPDATE DATE is now December 19, it also said December 12 before.
Hoping we all get good news soon.
Best of luck everyone.

Yes, her interview got moved to December 12th also, because of typhoon Ruby.
Hopefully we will both have good news soon.

So I've been checking the CEAC website and logging into the account we set up with the embassy at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ . CEAC keeps saying "Ready" and check back in 2 days and the embassy's website says that they still have my fiance's passport. I checked again today and the embassy's website says "document delivery information" where it used to say that they had the passport. So I thought I would check 2go and see if they had anything on their website. But their website is down, is that just the Philippines?
Thanks

CFO is quick and easy now that they have the online scheduling, I suggest to wait until she has her passport back that way she can get her sticker the same day and not have to go back.
BTW... congrats!!
Thank you for all your help hank, your website is a huge help.
About the visa; Does she receive a sealed packet? If so, who opens it? And with the holidays approaching, how long will it take, roughly, to get the visa?
Thanks again Hank, you're a lifesaver!
-
My fiance had her interview today, they kept her passport, and said 2go would contact her so we think she's been approved. Should we schedule the CFO now? Or after she has her visa? Is there a big waitlist?
-
Here's what is odd to me; when I log into the website and click the "Cancel Appointment" button, it says,
Appointment Cancellation You cannot cancel your appointment at this time.then gives all of our information and has our appointment date of December 8 and then it says,
First available appointment slots at the moment are on Wednesday December 10, 2014
But after clicking the "Reschedule Appointment" button it says no appointments available.
So why can't we at least cancel the appointment?
-
My fiance's interview is scheduled for December 8th. We figured we should reschedule because of the impending typhoon. The embassy's website currently says no available appointments. Yesterday many dates were available. Did they close all dates to just see what happens with the typhoon?

Thanks everyone for your input. I scanned and emailed her both the NOA2 and NVC letter, she printed both right there by SLEC and everything went well from there. My guess is all she needed was the NVC letter.
-
I just sent her the NOA2 with the receipt number and my letter from the NVC with both the receipt number and the case number. Hopefully, that will work.
-
My fiance is at St Lukes right now. She printed 3 copies of the email appointment confirmation, but they say they need the letter from Embassy with our case number. How do we get that?
-
Best suggestion I have is to list/mention the visa in the DS-160 somehow, trust me it is in the computer at the embassy.
Thanks Hank, that's what I figured. We just did a best estimate.
-
Probably an B-1, A-3, or G-5. depending on how connected her employer was.
Thanks Hypnos

With all questions, answer honestly and to the best of your knowledge. Fiance will have a visa in her passport from before, even if she renewed her passport DFA returns the old passport.
Thanks everyone for your input. I thought it was best to list everything as truthfully as possible no matter if we remember everything or nor or if it seems insignificant or not, but my fiance doesn't seem to feel the same way.
Hank, unfortunately my fiance doesn't have her old, old passport with the visa stamps in it. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone, thanks in advance for your help and input.
I am a US citizen going through the process of trying to get my filipina fiance a k1 visa. My fiance worked in Saudi for 7-years with an elderly Saudi princess. The princess visited the US for a medical procedure and brought my fiance with her, this was 5+ years ago before we met. What kind of visa would my fiance, the filipina worker, have had to come here with her Saudi employer?
Thanks again.

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for your input
I'm filing for a k-1 visa for my filipina fiance, we are trying to fill out her DS-160 online.
So she's been to the US before. She worked as domestic help for a Saudi woman, that woman brought her to the US when she had a medical procedure. My fiance spent the entire trip caring for her boss at the hospital. The problem is this was 5+ years ago and she doesn't know what visa type she had or even the dates. What should we put on the DS-160?
Also, my fiance doesn't want to put down her current employer since she's only been there a month. Is her new current employment important? It's not listed on het G-325 I filled out.
Thanks

On the DS-160 what ID numbers do we need besides a passport number?
