I have a few questions about this filling of form.

1. Is it possible to have relatives(like first cousins, aunts etc) & not friends to sign the affidavits stating they know us since my wife arrived here. We don't have close friends here who knew us for last 1.5 years)

2. I have most documents (joint house lease, joint name on utility bill, health insurance for both of us, trip / itenaries /receipts/ fotos of cruise , joint income tax return for 3 yr etc) but we don't have a joint bank account. will this matter?

if we file electronic change of address, do we still need to notify DHS by filing ar-11 via regular certified mail ? the language i n their site is confusing

i learnt in another thread that the visa issued to my wife isn't endorsed yet. she is flying to usa first time. what should one check on customs - resident or visitor.

I looked at copy of visa again.

It does state

"UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR."

what does it mean??

when filing customs form, does she check her box as resident or visitor???

My spouse has just gotten a i-551. She has never been to USA.

On 551, there is a registration number. Is that her Permanent Residence/Residence Alien Card Number?(which is needed for travel agents) Or her resident alien card # will be issued after her arrival

Also , does any recent travelees know what custom / immigration form needs to be filled in the plane

The spouse's interview is next week.

I am confused about what to take. I filed affidavit of support late dec with 2005 tax return, 2005 w2, employment proof.

My spouse has copies of all that and copy of affidavit of support.

Now, I also have recieved 2006 w2. Do I again need to get all documents like employment proof etc (but aos is filed with different set of proofs)

After a while, finally the visa interview is taking place in couple of weeks.

I have filed I-130 petition for spouse and we are married for less than 2 years.

If her application is approved and she gets the visa in the interview, how long does it take for greencard to be mailed after she comes here?

Reason I ask is there maybe change of address. Is it possible that after she arrives here, we can get GC sent to new address?

it seems direct counslate filing ppl are affected. some are stating their interviews are postponed.

will this affect ir1 filing from uscis also?

My case is complete from NVc and has gone to the embassy. If during this time, my job status changes(job change, unemployment etc), do I need to refile at NVC or just notifying the embassy official is enuff

Hi, I have applied for I-130. It has been completed at Nvc and forwarded to the embassy.

What happens next?

1. I read that the embassy recieves the application both via courier and via internet. Is it true?

2. When they send the packet to my wife , what do they send? Do they send her everything including hard copy of I-864? In that case I wont need to fedex the copy again.

US post office priority mail takes about 2-3 days to reach places in the USA, costs, less, and FED-EX cannot deliver to PO-BOXES

Are you sure? We mailed it via fedex to NVC the choice of agent form(the addresses maybe different)

Will need to look at old fedex receipts

My spouse is about to mail ds-230. She will use fedex as postal mail takes a long time. But in instructions, it says use the envelope provided. Can she use fedex package?

Also, for 21a and 21b, what should she put? we have no children and in 14 she listed my name. is none better or N/A better

the flowchart of VJ shows the process till case being forwarded to embassy.

does anyone know what embassy sends after recieving nvc document. do ALL embassy asks for real documents via courier (packet 3.5) or just some?

I worked at reopening our first (revoked, don't ask) case for 3 months, if that gives you any indication. Just trying to get USCIS to respond to me took 120 days. In hindsight those months would have been better spent waiting on a new app to process.

Did you move? is that why you didn't get your notice?

I haven't moved. One reason was so this stuff doesn't happen. but my bad luck.

I didn't recieve any emails from USCIS either abt this rejection.

I have sent in my Aos form 868 adn sent in ds 230 payments.

My only worry is what my wife will say if the cousalate asks her has she ever been denied a VISA to USA. What explaination can she give?

I have just recieved letter stating that k-3 application has been denied. The reason given is that I failed to reply to one of the RFEs . But I never recieved any RFE via email. The processing date right now at NBC is mar 02, 2006. My NOA1 was in 2nd/3rd week of May

Is there any way to have them reopen my k3 application?

Also, the I30 is moving forward very nicely and I want ot continue this process. Will this rejection of k3 affect my i30?

so i put 1 in 21C and not count that 1 when adding up household size? or just leave 21c blank

I have a few qs about i-864. I am planning to file this for my spouse

1. In the first question, it states to fill in your name. Which format they want the name in? first name-last name or last-name, first name?

2. There are three checkboxes for question 8 which states "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in part 2 above" Should I check the box left to it and then also check YES?

3. Do I need to again put my wife's name on question 9?

To give you a more direct answer....1. first, middle, last 2. you check the box to the left and the box for yes 3. your wife is the principal imigrant so NO you do NOT list her namethere.

I am the only sponser for my wife. So in line 10, my total was 1.

In line 21a, I enter 1 as per instructions.

Nnow in line 21c, I am asked to enter "1" again for my spouse if i am married.

then household size becomes 3 which is obviously incorrect. should i leave 21C blank?
