  1. You filed in September of 2013 which is when the last of the Vermont K1s were assigned there. It is really not helpful to give people 2-year old information. And if you don't know current information, don't say anything. Someone told me the same thing about Vermont (I asked here because USCIS site shows me zoned for Vermont, but reading here it seemed like all TX and CA), I listened, and made my plans based on the timelines there, and now literally everything is messed up because of that.

OP: The previous advise is correct. As of right now, the only center receiving K1 applications is California. This could change at any moment, of course, so use caution when making plans. California's timeline seems to hover right around the 2-month mark. Good luck.

I was only saying that because like you everyone here told me that vermont did not take k1 visa back then I spoke to vermont as I was chasing my case up to this years and they told me different as I was so worried that it was somewhere else.

People on here are not experts nor are they government officials, so I would take advice from here with a pinch of salt.

Why dont you call I had my senator on the case with the vermont service centre and get the facts, rather than leaving rude messages on here to people that were trying to help. I waited 2 years to get to this point, I see people bitching after just a couple of months.

if your that worried do something about it, like i did.

  2. Hi I am in the exact same situation I wish I could help but I have no idea what to do as well, please keep my info if you find out let me know. Where in the UK are you?

    hi guys,

I am a bit concerned as well as I have been to my medicals on the 09/05 but the embassy sent me a letter asking me if I still wanted to make an application? they received my medicals on the 19/05 I emailed the "info unit" and this is their response:

    Thank you for your email.

Embassy records show that on March 8 the Immigrant Visa Unit sent you a letter notifying you that they are ready to begin processing your application. To date, there is no record of you completing and submitting the forms. Information on the steps you are required to take is available from our website at http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html. No further action can be taken until you have completed the DS-160, and submitted the Notification of Applicant’s Readiness form to the Immigrant Visa Unit. See http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness.html for further information. On receipt of the form, the Immigrant Visa Unit will advise you further.

Please note that we can confirm that your medical report has been received by the Immigrant Visa Unit.

    Sincerely,

I replied with a copy of my DS-160 and saying that I completed my readiness form aound the 19/05/2015

since then, no response...i am not sure what to do next? my Status on CEAC says "ready " and last update on the 19/05/2015 but I am really worried

has anyone been in this situation?

    many thanks

  3. I am going to book my medical next week so get that out the way and am waiting on paperwork from fiance. Thanks

  4. Hi I have just got my NOA 2 after waiting 17 months. I am very happy. My question has anyone gone for an interview that had overstayed previously. I overstayed more that 6 months but less than a year so I know I would have incurred an automatic 3 year ban in 2009.

I am so nervous as I keep thinking that this will effect my application I am a gay man and my partner and I have been together for almost 27 years and due to the law changes are now able to apply to be with him legally. If someone that has had this experience could help me I would really appreciate it.

  5. Hey Everyone!

So me and my fiancé got our NOA 1 on March 26.14.. and to this point have heard nothing, I know TSC is back up ,... but I have no clue why it would take this long? we used a lawyer so I know everything should be done properly. Also I go down to the united states every 9 days for 5 days to visit ( thanks to have a rotational work schedule). So we def have enough proof our relationship is legit. I know Canada is probably last on their list of countries.. but I never imagined it would take over 6 months :(

Got NOA 1 in Oct 2013 still waiting over a year now tried calling , congressman Ombudsman the lot nothing you can do but wait.

  6. hi there! is there any success story here for couples (both females) who was granted a k1 visa. me and fiancee just started our visa journey and we're both nervous about it. were actually both freakin out even though we think we have enough evidence to prove our genuine relationship. thanks in advance to those couple who will share their stories/ experiences on their journey. god bless

Hi I am in the process right now. I have been with my partner for 28 years and when DOMA was overturned we decided to go for the visa, we have been waiting a year in initial review with no sign of an acceptance, I have no idea if this is because we are a same sex couple but I am not a success story, I am so sad that it is taking so long as I am stuck in the UK and just want to be with my partner. I hope things are easier for you.

    Good Luck

  7. Dear,

Don't lose hope, as you have involved congress man and ombudsman, things will be finalized soon. As an advice also email the service center directly. Your will get you approval soon, they have to give it. There are many pending due to security check see here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/469626-dec-2013-i-130-filers/page-85

And we just got our approval on Sep 11, 2014 after 9 months and 1 week.

And you are not in security check for one year, they don't touch the file before 6 or 7 months. Then they review your petition and see if your petition needs to go for detail checking. So you are in security checks for like 5 or 6 months.

So stay positive, you will get is soon.

    Good luck

Thanks i'm glad you got yours am so happy when I see people move forward gives me hope, good luck with rest of process

  8. Hello guys i have a question,

I am waiting for my NOA2 with PD Dec 4, 2013. I was not able to find anywhere any statement which says that USCIS perform background/security checks of beneficiary during Initial Review. All they state that background/security check are performed for applicant/petitioner at this stage.

But after talking with tier 2 several times, meeting with them face to face in Info Pass meeting, talking to congress man, all they say that case is pending due to security checks and most probably it is delayed because of beneficiary security check clearance. One of other Dec filler got the same information.

    My question is:

Does USCIS perform background/security check for beneficiary during initial review and if yes against what data they perform those checks. Do they perform those checks for USA or they demand security clearance from beneficiary's county?

Hi I have been searching this website for someone who is in the same position as me I have been in security checks for a year this month. Have you got any advice, have you seen someone come out of this length of time ok. I am like yourself getting really frustrated as there is nothing you can do. I have our congress on it and I have contacted the Ombudsman I dont know what else to do . How can it take so long to check someone.

  9. Hi I have been waiting for 11 months this week, they say they are waiting on security check. I am going out my mind with stress and have got everyone involved but to no avail. It would be nice to know why it is taking so long, my partner and I have been together for 28 years (gay couple) involved definitely have a history maybe thats why. Any help

Does anybody here know what was the longest one's waited for their NOA2?

I've seen previous members who took 260 days! but have anyone seen longer than that?

I've been waiting for quite a long time now.....

and I just wanted to make sure that USCIS is going to process our case, and that they didn't lose our case.

    Better late than never.

    Thank you.

  10. Hi I received a text today l thought after 10 months it was an approval, but only to find that it was a notification that I was still in initial review, I went on to website to see if that had changed it hadn't but I did notice one thing different, I copy pasted the sentence as I want to see if this has happened to anyone else. This is how it reads now but before it had the received date and the transfer date but now that has been removed and obviously kicked out the e mail. I have been staring at this for 10 months so I know what it used to say. Has this happened to anyone else and if someone can look at there's to see if this is how it is or do you have the dates.

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

  11. Where were you born? Where were your parents born? Common name? Any criminal background? Are you a scientist?

I was born in the UK my parents were born here I have no criminal record even when in the US the most I got was a speeding ticket.

I did overstay a visa which was a 3 year ban as for the time. but surely they know about that from the report that day I was not deported just refused entry. No I am nothing that the US need worry about as a possible threat just want to be with my partner of 27 years (gay couple).

I think maybe time to get a Lawyer. I did live in the states on and off purely to be with my partner and I think I owe some taxes but so do lots of people I guess I do not know what it could be I've done nothing that other people have not done in the past and still manage to be approved the senators office believe the overstay would be forgiven due to our circumstances, as a gay couple not having the same historical rights as heterosexuals we will see I guess.

  12. I have been waiting for 10 months on NOA1. I have called several times and contacted my Senators office I have also spoken to a tier 2 officer, who told me we should here something by the end of the month. Today a letter came and it said that they can do nothing until the security checks have been completed. Does anyone know why these are taking so long in our case, people seem to fly through even from so called high risk countries I am a UK citizen .

Getting fed up does any body know anything I can do that I already haven't

    Thanks

  13. I've been waiting 10 months, I see people getting approved all the time and I just sit here and wait I've been with my fiance 27 years, a gay couple that has waited this long to finally become legal and now they make us wait even more with no explanation. I would love to have got it in 5 months. Written to my senator, still nothing. : (

  14. Hi Yes I we did contact our senators office to see if they could help and they got a letter saying that it is going through security checks and then when my partner called a tier 2 immigration officer he was told that because we contacted our senators office he was not able to discuss the case with my partner, they would have to call I don't get it. I am really loosing hope here when someone replied that they don't no anyone else from the Sept 2013 who is still waiting. I don't know what to do and my partner is not like me, shoe on other foot I would be all over it. I am going to speak with the women who has been helping him to see what she has really done, because she may have just called the 800 help line and think she did something. I guess have got to keep going.

Since your other post on this issue, have you spoken to a tier 2 immigration officer about your case? If you have tried contacting the USCIS and gotten nowhere, perhaps try your congress person's office and/or the Ombudsman > http://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance
