I'll ask him again. He's at work. I rarely see him long enough to have a conversation about anything!
-
My husband said that he sent in the N-400 and also the I-912, and then a week or 2 later he got a letter saying he used outdated forms and also needed to provide credit card info. So he redid the application and waiver with the new forms and send in cc details!
I was away visiting family for a few weeks, so I wasn't here, and this is only based on emails and phone calls while I was away. I'll need to ask him to clarify. You're right, it doesn't make sense to provide payment details PLUS a request for a waiver.
He only gave low income info because he said you only need to choose one. I just read that on the website too.

19 hours ago, Going through said:
If USCIS determines through documents you sent with the waiver that you are not eligible, they will process the payment and deny the waiver.
What did you send them as supporting evidence in terms of income? What is the size of your household?
I think my husband said they asked for last year's tax return, so he sent that. Our household is 4 people, and income is $25,000.

- Do they tend to do that??? We're well below the income limit!!

My husband submitted the fee waiver application with his N-400 application. We are well below the 150% poverty level. He just noticed there's a pending transaction on our credit card for the full amount of the application! He sent the application about a week ago. No mail from them yet. Does this mean he was denied and they're just taking the money???

My husband just sent off his N-400. We live near Tampa, so that will be our office. How long can we expect this to take? Also, we might be moving to Houston in a few months Will that mess things up?

I don't know if this is helpful but I just met someone here in the US who said they came for a visit and the Green Card, then went back to the UK, then he got a job in the US so they moved over, just 5 months ago. She told me you have 6 months in which to get to the US, and if you leave, you then have one year to come back. This is just what she told me a couple days ago, not sure if it's 100% correct.

Dh's interview is next Monday, I think he should start applying for jobs in the US already. Once he has the IR-1 he can truthfully say he's legal to work in the US, right? So he might as well say that now? Or at the latest, wait till he gets that? He shouldn't have to wait till he gets to the US and has the actual Green Card right? The kids and I are over here in the US waiting for him, so I would like him to get a job asap!

Can the sponsor and their children have food stamps under the sponsor's name if the immigrant is in their household?
-
I sent the I-130 and a few weeks later left for the US with my kids. I'm here now, while dh waits for the Green Card. I'm not working, we're living with my parents, my dad said he can be a joint sponsor, his income is 125% above poverty level for me, my kids, dh and my parents.
My question is, where do we send it to? Do we need to fill this form out and send it to my husband in the UK to mail it in, or bring it to the interview, or do we post it from here?

I just arrived in the US with my children, and my husband is coming over in December when he gets his Green Card. He's working over there still. I'm trying to sign up for health insurance online and it first wants to know about my household. Do I include my husband????? I'm going to give his income, in dollars, I need to do that right?

I'm doing DCF, I'm in the UK and have lived here for 13 years. I'm going ahead of my husband with our kids and will be staying with my parents. Hence my dad's income. So should my dad do the I-864 or I-864A?
-
I thought I needed someone to be a joint sponsor, but just read the instructions and I'm not sure how it's different, but I can use just myself as the sponsor for my husband, and my dad's income. My children and I will be staying with my parents, so my dad will be 'in my household' I guess? As long as my dad makes at least 125% of the poverty level for our family of 4, plus both my parents?
Is that right, and how is it different or easier? Is my dad not held responsible for my husband then?

I'm moving back to the US from the UK and am not sure what to do with my UK ISAs, bank accounts, and other things I can't think of right now. I thought I remember seeing people discussing these things on a forum but can't find where. Anyone know??
-
I didn't send the email request form because I read somewhere it was only for people petitioning to the US, not DCF, is that not right? But it doesn't matter, right? I sent my self addressed stamped envelope. Been 2 weeks and haven't heard.

On the website it says they are currently processing I-130 petitions from about 5 weeks ago. I just sent mine a week ago, does this mean they won't even open it and send me an acknowledgement (Is that the NOA-1?) for a month, or do they open it, acknowledge and then process it? They haven't charged our credit card yet.

We're moving back to the US next month with only what we can fit in luggage, carry ons, and what's allowed on the plane. Some things aren't fitting anywhere, how can I ship a few things super cheap? Surface mail goes only up to 2kg, I don't want to spend lots, not even near £100, which is the cost of taking an extra suitcase.

I've heard that police clearances are taking a couple months to go through so was thinking we should order that the same time we send off the I-130. Do we need it for both me (USC/UKC) and dh (UKC) who I'm petitioning for?
Do we both only need it for the UK if I grew up in the US and have lived here 13 yrs, and he lived in southern Africa only till he was 9?
-
My kids and I are all US citizens, we're moving back to the US And although we do 'have money' while my dh is still working, it's only enough to live on and not enough to cover medical emergencies! It would only be till dh came over and one of us got a job and health insurance, which we'd of course want asap! Mainly I'm thinking of it for the kids.
-
My kids (ages 7 and 4) and I are moving over from the UK while dh sells the flat and waits for his DCF to go through and get his Green Card. Can we get Medicaid? Or CHP for the kids? Dh will still be working and we have joint accounts, so since I have money, although in another country, can I not get Medicaid?

I'm so confused, I get that I fill one out for me (USC and UKC in UK) and one out for my husband (UKC), but who is the applicant on each form? Our addresses are the same so that doesn't matter, but when it asks for applicant's employment, do they want my employment on my form and his employment on his form? We live in the UK, so our employment is here, is that what they want to know?
Then for 'signature of applicant' do I sign my form and he signs his?
And in the heavy border box at the bottom, do we each fill in our own info on our own forms? Or am I petitioning for him so he's the applicant??

It's on the London US Embassy website, so must be for DCF London. I hope it's CYA! Ha ha I'd never heard that before!
Here's what it says,
Planning AheadU.S. petitioners who are planning on filing for their foreign spouses/children for immigrant visas to relocate to the United States should file the Petition for Alien Relative (Form I-130) a minimum of ten (10) months prior to the date of the plan relocation.
