  1. Hi all,

First I apologize if this question has been answered already. I did some research but couldn't find enough details about the process.

My employer just started the process of L1 sponsorship and I was wondering what are the steps that the application will go through and how long i should expect it to take.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Based on other posts, it takes KCC 4-5 months to process the ds 260 form. so if you re submitted on November 4th, they will be done with the processing by end of Feb/beginning of March.

KCC also only do the scheduling I think once a month, and they do the scheduling starting two months in the future ie : if you will be part of the March scheduling, you will get your interview for June.

  3. The new visa bulletin has been published : http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin/2015/visa-bulletin-for-december-2014.html

  4. Do you mean issued on a month by month basis? No that wouldn't make it easier - as the visa bulletin DV numbers are published two months in advance, i don't see how numbers from at best a month ago will be useful?...

We have a very high case number AF82xxx and we are stressed :)

knowing the number of visa issued will help us know how many visa remains and our chances of getting an interview by august sptember.

I mean if as example cutoff is 8000 in october and by end of october we now that only 1000 visa were issued we would know that there are 49000 visa remaining ;)

  5. Hi all, I hope you're all doing well

I was checking the visa bulletin cutoff numbers and comparing them to old bulletins just to keep track of the progress and know our chances of getting an interview.
Now I am wondering if there is a way of knowing the number of the issued visa? This information would make it really easy.

    Any thoughts

    Thanks :)

  7. This is what you need to do:

    • Contact the KCC and get the DS-260 unlocked
    • Add spouse
    • Submit it again

As Susie said you can wait a few months and then get legally married. Anytime this year or even early next year.

It's sooo much easier if the consular official thinks you're already married rather than if you 'surprise' them on the day of the interview. They hate surprises. Surprises = suspicious.

Regarding the first bullet point, When my fiance opens the DS260 page, she has the add applicant button enabled. Does this mean that anyone can add any new family member ? or do we still need to contact KCC.

Also the only, reference to spouse that we can recall was the following question : Do you have any previous spouse ? to which we responded by no assuming that this means (divorced spouse ). Can anyone tell us if our assumptions are correct ?

    Thanks

  8. I agree with others. Why base an entire life and struggles around a ceremony.. Legally wed now and have your ceremony at a later date. We did ours in court in the USA and a year later had a ceremony in Russia for her family. Also takes a lot of pressure off the planning!

    The sooner the better.

I disagree that you can wait a couple of months because the 50,000 DV visas for DV-2014 will run out by the end of the fiscal year. You must apply for a visa by the deadline of September 30, 2014.

FirasAloui is talking about DV2015, and the case number is fairly high (82xxx). So there's time.

Thanks for the replies, We will see when we can get this done as soon as possible :)

I don't know how Tunisian consulate will see it, but in Warsaw (Poland), getting married just before interview is not an issue at all for DV winners. Actually people that were single or had girl/boyfriends were asked if they're sure they don't want few more days to get married - at the interview ! So check out your specific embassy review as at least for some of the out there - as I said - it's not an issue at all.

This is a great news Kzielu thanks, I couldn't gather many info about how it has been in Tunisia, since the number of selectees is really small here comparing to other countries (221 for DV2015).

I'll try to call them and see what would be there suggestions.

  9. Thanks Susie, I can gather more evidence as well :)

Aaron, we can't get married immediately, we were planning to do it this summer regardless the interview/Visa but lately my father past away and we had to reschedule to next year (cultural thing : you can't get married when your father just died).

I can show the google spreadsheet of the plan that we made last april (before the results) to convince KCC that this is not related to winning the DV, but more to being together (not splitting for 3 years until I get a visa).

  10. Thanks Aaron and Susie for your answers. Let's hope we make it to the interview :) i'm getting a bit stressed after seeing the cutoff number.

When you say evidence, would having an 8 years timelined picture album + mariage certificate be sufficient ? Can you imagine anything else that we should bring with us?

    Thanks

  11. Hi all,

I once posted a related question but now things changed :)

Actually, I've been dating my fiance for 8 years now and she has been selected lately as part of dv 2015 as single. At first we thought that everything is quick and won't take more than 2 months so we went ahead and filled in the DS260 form as single (we thought that we will figure out how to get together after the wedding). But now thanks to everyone's help here, I realized that based on her number AF82XXX, she won't be interviewed before August/September (if not never due to the cut off number). which will be in the same period of our planned wedding (around July 2015 ).

Now, my question is : when should we request the ds260 update to add me as a spouse? is it right after the wedding? will 2 months be enough and not cause her DS260 to be dropped ? or should we go ahead and request that ASAP?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate all your efforts.

  12. Thank you guys for the quick response.

my girlfriend case number is 2015AF00082***.

We were planning to get engaged in july but since my father past away (2 weeks ago) everything got cancelled.

Looking forward to get your interview date estimate.

Ps we are both engineers with international experiences ( with us client for me ) so hopefully the interview won't be an issue.

    Thanks

  13. Hi all,

My girlfriend (8 years together) has been selected for the DV program (from Tunisia) as a single and already went ahead and submitted the DS260 application.
At the time of submission, we were not aware that the procedure iern order to get spouse (we were planning to get engaged in July and married next year) to the US takes 2-3 years if not more (which is going to be too long separated).

We are not sure how to handle this and if there is a way of getting there together.

    Could you please help us.

    Thanks.
