WOW, CONGRATS to all of the visa approvals!!!
What a great beginning to the week. It's so uplifting to us as we prepare to leave for Barbados tomorrow and have the interview on Monday.
We hope to contribute to the uplifting news next week!
Keep the good news coming VJers!

Thank you dwheels76..whats the reason people usually give for a rescheduling?
We didn't give any reason, just asked if we could be assigned an earlier interview, and they assigned us a new one, 10 days earlier than the first assignment.
-
Good luck to all those with interviews this week! Take a deep breath and prepare yourselves to hear APPROVED!!
My husband and I leave for Barbados on Wednesday. He will do the medical on Thursday and then the interview on Monday.
We're doing last minute prep on all docs and are getting excited to hear APPROVED also!

So does anyone foresee this backlog affecting visa issuance in the months of August and September? I'm wondering if it will mean my wife won't get her visa for more than a week after the interview. Anyone know about it?
http://www.nbcnews.com/business/travel/u-s-passport-visa-operations-gummed-glitch-n163751
I spoke with someone who's husband was waiting for his visa to be issued at the Bridgetown, Barbados embassy on Friday. He was told by the embassy that, because of the system problems, they were only able to print 3 visas per day. He was lucky enough to be one of those 3.
So, at least at the Barbados US Embassy, they are printing visas, but only 3 per day right now. Am not sure what is happening at other Embassies.

Hi, I was just wondering if you have an idea of how long it took for your status to change to READY from IN TRANSIT ?
mine is still in transit status even though the our package was received on July 21st (3days ago)
Thanks
Our status first showed "In Transit" on 14 July and finally showed "Ready" on 23 July... So it took ours 9 days
I started looking at the DHL tracking system for the 14 July and saw a package that arrived on 18 Jul... I thought that surely our package was in the group, but freaked out that the Embassy wasn't changing the status to "Ready". Then I realized that a DHL package was sent out every other day to our embassy city, so now I figure that maybe our package wasn't sent out until one of the later shipping dates, even though the status said "In Transit". This would explain the perceived 5 day delay in the change to "Ready" from when I "thought" the package arrived.
In truth we don't know what date exactly our package leaves the DHL shipping center in Boston, so maybe the same thing is happening to you.
Trust me I know it's nerve wracking to have to wait, but it will get there. Just give it a little time.
-
Our package finally arrived at the US Embassy in Bridgetown and the status showed "Ready" this morning. I immediately emailed the embassy asking for an earlier interview and received an email back before noon granting us a new interview for 11 August at 9am! woohoo!
now it's time to make all the arrangements!
-
It took ours about 2 days for it to show "Ready" after it arrived. Wait til tomorrow and see what happens!
thanks, good to know!

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a delay in their status changing from "In Transit" to "Ready" once their package has arrived at the US Embassy?
We received our interview date on 10 July for 21 August. I've followed a package through DHL sent from Portsmouth to Bridgetown, Barbados (which is where our US Embassy is). It left on 15 July and, after a little detour to Venezuela, arrived at the embassy in Bridgetown this past Friday 18 July. I have been constantly checking the CEAC status and it still says "In Transit".
Have people experienced this type of delay in their status changing to "Ready" from when they think their package arrived? Or is this abnormal and might point to that DHL package not having included our case?
We are really on pins and needles because we want to ask for an earlier interview, but the status won't change to "Ready"!! haha
Thanks for any input.
-
I think the Case Creation date should be there (funny, I can't remember 2 weeks ago lol).
I do remember that the Status Update date did not appear until my case changed from In Transit to Ready.
ok, maybe it will show up when the package reaches the embassy and the status says Ready
-
thanks. That's the same link that I was using. Just signed in it through your link and still no dates. Has it shown dates for you the entire time? or only until your package reached the embassy? Our package is currently on it's way, but there are no dates showing. Guess I'm not meant to see!
-
Soooo I was bored, and wasn't sure if I should sit on hold with NVC for grins and giggles or log into the Visa Status site for absolutely no reason.
My original Status Updated Date was July 3 2014, I log in just now and see it was updated to yesterday's date. Does this happen often??
When I check my status through the caec visa status check, it shows the status, but I don't see any place where it shows a date. Could you share the link that you are using? thanks!
-
It says July 10th..
I was thinking about writing to the embassy but was waiting until the package got there.. I might try e-mailing them.. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask lol
thanks. Just checked the CEAC status for like the 10th time today and it finally says "In Transit"! So looks like it was 1 business day for both of us, just seemed longer for me because of the weekend.
yeah, why not ask, if it would be helpful to have an earlier interview date. At least we know it won't hurt to ask. We were really hoping for an early august interview date, so maybe one will be available for us.
good luck!
-
My interview letter said 24JUN2013 in the subject as well, we had CC on April 3 and interview on May 19 this year. No idea why that date is there but it's not relevant to your cases
haha, ok. Guess it means nothing. Didn't even notice it was 2013 until now!
-
so I guess it was our package that was sent on Friday!! because it was delivered this morning India time.. and the CEAC status changed to READY!!
quick question... what date does your interview letter have on it? Ours says 11 July 2014, but the CEAC status still says "At NVC"
I guess ours is just taking a little longer to ship out? We really want to write the Embassy to ask for an earlier interview date, but can't do it until they receive the file!
Happy to see yours is already there! Are you trying for an earlier date or just going with the one given?
-
That's what I was thinking too, but the agent on the phone told me our CC was the 26th ... hmm.
I noticed that our letter said the exact same thing, but I was also told that our CC was 26 June... maybe there is a few day delay from actual CC to when it is updated in their computers? not sure...

first of all, CONGRATS to all those who have had visa approvals and interviews scheduled in the last couple of days!
I just spoke to Todd and he informed me that my husband's interview was scheduled yesterday for the Barbados embassy for
21 August at 9am !
:joy:
I asked him when he thought the package might be sent out to the embassy (because we might be trying to ask for an earlier interview) and he said that if it didn't make it out in the mailings for this week (sent either today or tomorrow) it should definitely be sent by next Friday. So, it sounds like they might send out the packets to the embassies at the end of each week?
Anyways, am excited to know that, if all goes well, this process will be finished by that date if not earlier!
Best of luck to everyone else in their visa approvals and interview scheduling!

any 6/26 CCers get a case closed email today?
nope not yet, am anticipating to get it tomorrow... if not, I guess we're waiting until Monday because of the holiday, unless there is some sort of automated system to send out the email (probably not though)
-
Congrats to all of the Case Completes yesterday and today!
Yayyyy CASE COMPLETE!!!!
Congrats!!!and a special congrats to you! Happy you finally made it through
come on over and join us at the August interview thread!
Congrats to all Case Completes. Great end to the month
So it was a real checklist. Hubby put adjusted income and not gross (got confused by the instruction about 1040EZ). Can't believe we have delayed our case, especially after "celebrating" our immiversary on Saturday.
hey, so sorry to hear it is a checklist! I know from experience that it's hard to take. Just know that you guys will get through it and have the case complete next month.

I think you meant the "Invoice' table by summary page? So does it only changes or also on the 'receipt' tab. When I login it by default takes me to receipt tab.
The page that it takes me to after I log in actually says "summary information" on it and that is where it shows the "N/A". If you end up on the receipt page, I don't think the "PAID" with change to "N/A" when you get case complete, at lease mine did not.
The link use to get directly to the summary page upon sign in is https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx
-
Hope you get an interview this week too!
Thanks, it will be so nice to know so that we can start to make plans and allow ourselves to start thinking about the future!
-
When people say their AOS fee changes to "N/A" on the portal, is that the "Fee Payment" or the "DS-260" part of the CEAC portal?
It shows up on the summary page under "Affidavit of Support Fee" section across from the petitioner's name

Called NVC, agent Carl informed me that my AOS Checklist was generated on July 27th. Hoping it's a false checklist. Haven't recieved the email yet, anyone know roughly how long it takes? (and please don't tell me 30 business day LOL)
so sorry to hear about the checklist! When I called and they told me about mine, I got the email later that day, so hopefully it should be soon. In my case, they definitely had the information on what the checklist was for, even read our which section of the form needed to be changed and, when asked about, how to do it. I guess you could call back and try to get more information or wait for the email and then call back to confirm with them exactly what the checklist means and what they need. I called back after receiving the email to do exactly this and it was helpful and made me feel more confident in what I was sending.
Good luck, and just know that it will end! I know how frustrating it can be but we got through our checklists, now have case complete, and are waiting for an interview. You'll get there too!

September 2014 Interviews
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports

I just want to report my husband's visa interview yesterday resulted in it being
APPROVED!!!!
woohoo!!! We are so excited and happy. We even got to have a relaxing afternoon at the beautiful white sand beaches in Barbados, so I would say that the day was pretty good! We already bought our tickets to go to the US for 26 August and are getting into planning mode to be ready in time. There is so much going on in my head right now that I even woke up at 5:30am with thoughts racing despite hoping to sleep in!
I haven't really been on visajourney since we came to Barbados for the medical last week, so I am guessing that I have missed much great news of visa approvals. I just want to wish all of those who have had recent visa approvals a huge
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
To all of those waiting, it's coming! And it will feel so great when you finally get there!
The interview exceeded our expectations, in that everyone was so friendly and were obviously trying to lighten our mood and relieve the stress. I have posted a full review of our medical and interview experience as a review for the Barbados embassy.
Now we are just waiting to have the visa in hand. The information sheet that we were given told us we should get the passport back in 7 days (sounds like heaven compared to the "30 days" message of NVC
). I forgot to ask about the system issues while at the interview, but the CO didn't mention any type of delay. I just emailed the embassy this morning to ask if there are currently any delays so should hear back from them today.
WOOHOO!
