  1. Yes it is very hard on a lot of people that marry someone from another country.Yes I have been through this twice and I always get family and friends asking me I'm sure they love you.I was marry once and it lasted for 5 years and they I tried it again and she left lest in a month being in the USA.But when I meet my Dominican wife I knew something different in her. But you still have people concern for you and don't want to see you get hurt.I think it's them relationships that go bad that make it look bad for other's. From my past experience I would tell you to not worry about what other thank about your relationship.just don't let other people tell you what you should do.keep your business from others.that was my last problem in my relationship.now I will put my wife first.

  2. Congratz. It would be good if you two can fly back together. Let her the weather in Philly just changed drastically. So she'll need to prepare for that. My wife hates this time of year. Best wishes going forward. Yes I hope that could happen but they told us if would take about 3 weeks before she would receive her visa. So I guess I will have to wait for her back home.AND as for Philadelphia I know the weather is about to change.so I told her we will have to do some shopping real fast for her. Thanks for a always posting and helping people. Come to Philadelphia one day we can have dinner.

  3. Thanks all for the nice words. Yes we are still in a dazz on how easy our interview went.. We was just looking at all the stuff we bought with us and never needed to use it.I guess everyone case is different and base on what they look for.I was even surprise that I was not ask about my last two petition??? I will stay here for a nother week before I go back home.we was told it will take about three week before my wife received her visa.just by today I hope she get it sooner.

  4. We'll I want to say thanks to all that posted to me. We had our interview today and I can't say more on what kind of experience we had at the Dominican embassy. We got there around 6:30am and the lines was already getting long, but things move nice.we was in around 7:30 and was out and finished by 9:30. Our interview was set for 8:45 but we was call early I guess. We was met by a nice white male and he started by asking my wife what language she prefer and she told him either as she speak English very well, but he talk more in Spanish with her. He stated out by asking me how did we meet.He could tell by my voice that I knew so much about her. He only ask me two questions. How do I like the DR and how many places I visit, and what was her two kids name. He only ask my wife a few questions, like where I worked and what I do. He was very nice man and we was out in 10mins. This was my third petition I have done and been approved for.AND yes I have done all by myself with out a lawyer. Yes this is my last time as I know I have found my soulmate.. thanks everyone and keep helping others out who need it. Thanks Dean and favia

  5. Omg! Why has it taken so long to give you a date, if it was sent since july 16th? That means I'm not going to get a date any time soon, my case was complete on 8/20/14!? I think you should call NVC and find out what's the hold up. ?

that is funny i got a interview sent to me on 4 days. my case was done on the 13 of July and we got a email on that Saturday telling us of our interview that morning. hopefully you should get one soon.

  6. sorry to hear that UH60Chief , hope your wife will get her visa soon.

    that's quite a scary info. -_-

Im still far from getting the visa yet cause we just got approval from USCIS recently. But me and my hubby already discussed about not going to put in my resignation until I have the visa on hand. My company has 45-60 days notice policy but we have waited this long already so another 45 days wont hurt if we will wait.

thanks my friend you are right we talk about doing that just wait.

  7. I know many have already said it, but I will provide my 2 cents. My wife and I had already gotten plane tickets and she quit her job. We were to have the interview in September 2013 and fly out in mid October 2013. We went in for the interview and she was denied the visa. This came as a shock but we made due(still trying to get the visa now). Not trying to scare you, but this can be a reality. I would wait until you are officially approved for the visa.

thank you. and we will do that because i feel it will be for the best.

  8. I thought the visa/passport turnaround time is about 2 weeks after passing the interview.

So if I was her, I would quit right after I get approved but not before.

My fiancee was approved last Thursday, and we are not even going to book the airplane ticket

until she receives the passport/visa in her hand. Just trying to play safe all the way.

yes many of my family has told me the same thing to do to. it would also give her time to pack and send off what ever she want to bring here to the U.S. thank you

  9. I guess this is not a question i should be asking but i just wanted to share and see if anyone has have this problem. Well my wife will be coming up soon for her interview in the Dominican Republic next month. We where having this talk about when she should leave her job. Yes i would love to have my Wife my love of my life here with me. But at the same time you never know what will happen at the interview. I feel very strong about us and our relationship and the many times i have visit that country sense 2009 over 15 times. But my question to all is should i tell her to let her job know

now that she is putting in her notice or just wait? My wife work in Punta Cana and have a good job. Her job told her if she put in her notice she has to work 15 days in order to received her money she save with the company. I do not want her to lose her money and i don't want her to tell her job at this time she is planning on leaving soon, but because they told her if she was to leave they can not guarantee her job back. Yes i do want my wife here with me as soon as the interview if done. But i guess i waited this long i can wait 3 weeks to a month for her to come to the USA.

  10. Yes i got one and it did take up to 60 days and on that 60 days i call and my case was complete. it took from June 13, 2014 to August 13, 2014 for them to finish my case. the only thing i was surprise about was that i received my interview letter on the 18th of August. And it was sent to me about 1:15 am in the morning. I know this is not good for you. I should have had my case done along time ago but i got a checklist from them. As they keep telling me they was busy at this time because of many visa that was sent to them. But i call them about once a week just to see where my case was at. I tell you guys on here this is my last time doing this as this is my third petition i have done and have gotten all three approved two K1 and one IR-1/CR visa and this one was the hardest for me. Good Luck

  11. I would like to thank you all for getting back to me. the one question i would like to ask is when will my wife get her packet from the Embassy? this is my first time going threw the CR-1. i have done the K1 before and did not have to attend the interview. I know we don't have our interview until next month, but would like to know when my wife should be looking for the Packet 4 to reach her??

  12. Good Morning to all. Today was not what i was looking for on a Saturday. I woke up this morning around 6am to get ready for work and said let me look at my email. And was surprise to see that we was set up for a interview for next month. Our interview is set for September 25 2014 and our case was done on August t 13 2014. I was so happy that i call my wife at her work this morning to tell her the good news. She started crying over the phone and kept asking me was i sure. then she saw her email on her phone and call me back telling me" Baby we have to do this and do that!!!" I can't believe this happen so fast as i was looking for us to go in Oct or November. God is good! But now i have to get my passport renew as it expired last month. I just want to thank all who posted and help me just keep my head up. Everyday i would just come home and look at other people post just to see what was going on Here. If there is anything anyone want to share with us on what we will need for our Interview In the DR would be nice. thank you al
