  1. I will hopefully be sending in my wife's package in this month, but there is one thing I am wondering.

I originally was going to have my mother sponsor my wife, but my mother got cancer a few months ago and has thus stopped working.

I will be starting my new job this coming month of November and will earn enough myself to be the sponsor for my wife financially, however i have read that they will require last years taxes and a few months of pay stubs. Is this true? I won't have any to give so I was wondering if I should be looking for another sponsor or what options I have to show that I can financially support my wife.

    Any help is welcomed.

From my own experience I was asked for the last 3 years....pay stubs are optional..my suggestion is to find a joint sponsor.
  2. Great! You have no idea how appreciated I am. I will start working on all that and will get back to you if I have any other questions. I am trying to follow your steps as you were practically in my same shoes!. Its pretty much the same and I was so confused but you have cleared my mind. Thanks again please dont forget about me. lol. Have a great day talk to you soon. :dancing:

Lol I wont, I will be here to help you in anything I can...
  3. Thanks so much. I love how u answered my questtions straight to the point. Ok so I really dont need my parents taxes transcripts. In other words, my parents will have nothing to do with this process( affidavit). Correct ?

However, accompanying my affidavit, i will include a letter that will explain the reason why i dont have tax returns because my parents claim me as their dependents. That i am college student blah bla. Also, one i134 for my csponsor with all his supporting documentation. So in total, 2 forms. I know you did i130 not k1 but i think this is similar.

Awesome! I am trying my best to help you :)

-Exactly your parents unfortunately don't make enough so they have nothing to do with your case.(same thing happened to me).

-Yes two forms; one for you including the letter I suggested and one form for the co-sponsor and supporting documents.

-Yes, I think that base on affidavit both K1 and CR1 are similar.

  4. Helps a lot actually . Woah! Im so glad someone went through the same thing - I beg you to keep up with me. Although your response helped, i do have specific questions regardings the forms and documentation you provided. Below are my concerns. Any response would be appreciated.

*there are three people in this loop. My co-sponsor, My parents and myself. right.

    1. Out of the 3 Who has to fill out i134 ? (Im thinking all)

    2. My parents file joint taxes. Will i be filling one form for them and attaching the tax returns?

    3. If i have to fill a form for my self- what proof am i submiting (besides that letter you suggested)

Bottom line is. My parents tax returns will just be added to indicate that I am claimed as a dependant and dont have my own or will the be considering that as a sponsoring?

-Parents taxes don't count they don't make enough.

-You don't need to provide tax returns from your parents because they claim you.

I did complete an affidavit of support form you must file one even if you make 0 because you are the primary sponsor and your co-sponsor needs one too. (That's what I did).

You can write a letter as a mentioned before and also you can request from the IRS the letter of non-fliing by sending

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf you should mark with an X #7...part 9 write the years such as 2011, 2012, 2013 for the most recent years.

Keep in mind that I did CR1 not K1 so for some questions I might not know the answer, however if I do know I will reply ASAP.

  5. guys! Hope everything is well . Please - anyone that is able to answer this question go ahead( all suggestions, opinions, experiences, thoughts, and facts are greatly appreciated) . I am open to clarify my question as replies come in. it seems complicated.

I, the petitioner, am 20 years old turning 21 in december. College student. My fiance and I have been together for a while( 5 years) 4 years being apart :(. Well that's enough from us. Question is- ive never had a fulltime permanent job neither have I ever filed tax returns. My parents file joint taxes and claim me as one of their dependants. However, i recently found a perm job which is great(reason why we are doing all this) since i dont have my own tax returns I will obviously be using my parents but we would still need a co-sponsor which we have and is above povertyline. question short: will they consider my parents as cosponsor or just proof of my income? Them alone is not enough and we will definitely need the other sponsor. This is probably not clear enough for you guys but im deperate for answers. God bless!

I never filed taxes, my parents claimed me as well but they didn't make enough to sponsor my husband. What I did was I had a joint sponsor and I wrote a letter stating that I am a college student and never work neither pay taxes blah blah. Hope this help...
  6. Hi everyone.

I have filled CR1 application for my wife and kids.

At this moment we are filling our form I-864 and i have a question.

I was out of the country for last four years and did not made enough money to file taxes. Now i am back, got a decent permanent good paying job which i started like three months ago. In this case can i do the affidavit of support my self or will i require a joint sponsor. as I dont have the tax returns for last three years.

Thank you so much for your help.

    shazy

My suggestion is to get a joint sponsor.
  7. Hello All,

My wife Green Card got approved on October 8th, due to some errors my Step daughter case was sent late and her case got approved at USCIS on August 26 and then NVC received on OCtober 1st.

I explain that to the consul and said said that they would be requesting my stepdaughter case from NVC, not that I don't trust them but I want to be on top of things. The consul made a copy of my stepdaughter approved letter and stapled it to my wife case.

Can I request the case to be expedited before a CASE# and INVOICE# gets assign at NVC?

    Please need you opinion..

Thanks in advance for your response.

    DB

Yes you can, I asked for an expedite to NVC before getting my case number by email and got my case number within my expedite approval. Give it a try! Good luck.
  8. Hello,

I've sent I-765 documents to USCIS office in Chicago by Fedex and they arrived two days ago. On the first page I attached form G-1145 so I can be notified when they receive documents. Documents are already there for two days and I still didn't receive any confirmation via email or SMS message.

Is there a way I can check did they really receive documents and can I call somebody there to confirm to me? Is it normal they didn't confirm it in first two days?

    Thanks!

You should get a text/email when they actually open your package. The good part is that the package is already there and any day at any time you will receive a notification.

    Good luck!

  9. Trying to pay the greencard fee online does my husband have to make the account or can I, with all his info, and just pay it myself.. Also do you have to have an A before the alien number and the dos case number has to be exactly as it was during the case? little confused

I created an account for my husband and made the payment myself, I used my email address. I think the "A" is already there. For the alien put 0 first then the rest of the number shown on the instruction page.

    Hope this help!

  10. I want to try and expedite at NVC. I've had to significantly cut my hours at work because my mother has moved in with me and I am now her primary caregiver. I cannot afford a nursing staff.

I just received my NOA2. My quandary is this

I am not sure if I should go ahead and email now or wait a couple weeks to include the letter from the doctor.

Obviously having the proof would be better I realize that. But I just feel like the delays will have an effect on the process especially since around the same time I would receive the doctors letter, my AOS will be due. And if we are approved we take the AOS to the embassy not send it to NVC. So I feel like, in waiting for the letter I'm just wasting time. Any thoughts?

You can try to email the NVC and explain your situation, but keep in mind that they might ask you to scan a letter from the doctor in order for them to process your request, When I emailed the NVC asking for expedite I did not send any letter from school or anything I just emailed them without having case number.

  11. On the 22 Aug 2014 , I emailed an expedite request to NVC. Today I received the following response:

    "Dear Sir/Madam

Once the approved 129 Petition filed by US Citizen is received at NVC, it is processed in approx 10-20 business days and forwarded to the appropriate US/Embassy Consulate General. The Embassy/Consulate General may or may not request additional information before interviewing for a K-1 non-immigrant visa"

This is all the email stated, so my question is, do I have to submit another request for expedite to the Embassy or does NVC the send the request I sent to Them along with the packet to the consulate? From their statement that if consulate needs more info seems to validate that notion but I'm not sure with these people.

My packet was received at NVC on 22 Aug 2014, so 20 business days will be 22 Sep 2014 not counting date received and 1 Sep which is federal holiday.

Has anyone else dealt with this type of response on expedite request and anyone else received info about the 10 to 20 processing time for K-1 at NVC? Thanks in advance.

When I requested an expedite the NVC told me they will forward my inquiry to the embassy. I never emailed the embassy asking for expedite. In other words the NVC will send your request to the embassy all you need to do for now is wait for the embassy to make the decision approved/denied my approval took 13-14 business days after I emailed them my expedite request. Keep in mind that I'm doing CR1 though not K-1.

    Hope this helps!

  12. Did they send you any instructions for the medical exam before the interview date? My case was shipped on 8/21 and I'm still waiting

They send me the instructions for the interview indicating the civil documents...my husband went on thursday August 28th for his medical...he printed out his interview sheet from my email account took that sheet to Consultorios de Visa 3 passport photos, his cedula (ID) and passport. He received 3 vaccines...in total they charged him $8,987 (pesos).
  13. Hi VJ friends,

Yesterday I sent my expedite request due to error by NVC to NVC and to the American embassy in the Dominican Republic. I heard back from the AE in the Dominican Republic. They basically said that it has to go through NVC first. Lucky that I have sent them to both places. My question is; How long until I hear from NVC? Is it really going to take 60 days to hear back from them? If it is, then I don't really see the point on requesting it because hopefully, from now to 60 days, I will be paying my IV fee bills and filing out the IV forms. If anyone has have any experience on requesting expedite, please share the details. I am very curious to know how it works. Thanks ?

    Hi,

I sent an expedite request on July 23rd, my case was not at the NVC yet they received my case on July 28th but it was not a problem because they took a week to reply back. So as I just mentioned on the 23rd of July I sent an email to the NVC then July 30th they emailed me saying that my request for expedite is under review and as soon as they hear from the embassy they will contact me with a decision approved/denied. I never hear back from NVC I thought my request was denied. I keep checking my email account and nothing lol...until I checked my email and was not expecting to see my case# IIN# on August 11th, as soon as saw my case # I went to ceac.state.gov and completed the DS 261 then on the 13th my AOS fees was available and paid right away. Then I keep checking ceac.state.gov and saw that the current processing site says "Santo Domingo" I called NVC and asked and they said that my case was in transit to the embassy because it was approved for expedite, the same day the DS 260 was available but not the fees. I submitted the DS 260 on August 21st my case was sent on August 9th and was received August 18th. I emailed the embassy on the 18th and they email me back on the 19th with my interview for Sept 16th. On August 29th I received a letter from NVC stating that my case was accepted for expedite.

    I hope this help!

  14. Hey. I'm just starting to fill out all the forms I need for my I-129f visa. I'm have trouble with the G-325a in which my address are too long to fit on the form. Should I just write SEE ATTACHED and use an extra sheet put the question number and question and then processed to put the full answer on the sheet?

Yes attach a new sheet with the address. Make sure you sign it. I did the same with my G-325A.
  15. You're awesome! Thanks so much for the reply, aleful!! :-)

Another question: I filled my taxes last year as an independent with an income of zero. Does that enable me to submit the 1-864 for myself and the 1-864a for my stepfather?

Thank you so much for the kind reply! You guys are too awesome!!

How were you able to file taxes with no income? Sound interesting. From my understanding you are not combining anything since your income is $0. Let's wait what other have to say about this..

Here's my other question: I filled my taxes last year as an independent with an income of zero. Does that enable me to submit the 1-864 for myself and the 1-864a for my stepfather?

(Both forms are ready! I just didn't want to have him do another 1-864.)

  16. We did actually and i think we missed just one

:( can you call the embassy or email them and ask why your visa can't be processed. I think that if you proof everything they look for and your case is not approved they should some how let you know why they made that decision and what can be done after.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican%20Republic&cty=Santo%20Domingo I had email them previously and they replied the next day.

  17. So i had my visa interview for my wife, and it was a pain in the ### and after about 8 hours of waiting (interviewed, then got sent to interview seperatley then the final decision). When we were seperated thr cobsulate siad the uscis investigated and we know u guys are related which is bullshit (a mutual cousin of ours who carries both our last names introduced us (my cousin on his dads side her cousin on his moms side) the consulate officer (who was a complete a-hole) gave back my wifes passport and my passport with a white paper (8x11), and all she told me was "your visa cannot be processed/approved at this time" and then left without even listening to what i had to say... what the hell do i do now?? I am not gonna give up!!!!

Sorry to hear that :( after the interview did you both share what question were asked during the interview? Did the answers match?
