  1. Hello! Good day everyone! So we went to DFA yesterday October 8, 2014 to process my baby's Philippine Passport. He has a US passport already. We were informed by the DFA that the passport will arrive after six weeks. We have a problem because our fight to the states will be on the 13th of November hence, we don't have his passport yet at that time. I called the DFA hoping to have his Phil Passport expedite however this isn't possible at all. They only cater to expedite for other reasons which we don't qualify. However, the lady I spoke with said I can show his NSO birth certificate as evidence he is a Filipino thus we don't have to get exit certificate. How true is this? Can we just show his birth certificate and perhaps receipt that we are waiting on his Philippine passport? I hope you can enlighten me with your answers. Thank you very much!

  2. No you don't- I probably wouldn't, because it can be hot in there and you don;t want a screaming baby stressing you. He CAN come though, if you have no babysitter or are nursing.

Thank u for the prompt reply. Really appreciate it. Another question, I should include his name on the I-864 form right? Under "Family Members"? Coz technically he is traveling and entering the us together with us.

  3. Hi. So my type of visa is DCF CR-1. Actually my visa interview will be on September 10, 2014 and our baby September 4, for his CRBA and passport. My question is, does he need to apply for a visa once he is granted a passport? I understand I have to also include his name on the I-864 form coz he is traveling with us to the US, would that also mean I have to bring him with me to my visa interview? Pls enlighten me with ur answers thank u so much

  4. Hi. Actually on that same day, August 5, I received an email from them saying I can schedule my interview already. All these time we thought we needed to wait for NVC. Our documents are ready and everything. Just have to call the hospital. Thank you very much for the information you rendered.

  5. Helo. So we just finished completing the DS-260 form online and following the instructions we received from Packet 3 that we should notify the Manila Embassy once the DS-260 was completed. Now my question is should we wait for the NVC to reply to our form before submitting all the required documents to them? It is quite confusing because after we notified the Manila Embassy they sent us an email stating that we can schedule our appointment. However, we haven't received any reply from the NVC yet. Our DS-260 form was submitted to NVC last August 5, 2014 and until now we haven't received any replies yet. How long will it take for them to reply and should we send the documents to them now without any instructions from them yet? How about the Manila Embassy saying we can schedule an appointment but also to make sure we sent the documents to NVC. Its quite confusing. Pls enlighten us with some of your expertise on this matter. Thank you very much!

  6. It makes no difference what type of visa he was granted upon entering the country. He must also prove his intent to Domicile in the U.S.

Thank u so much for ur responses. Now I think we know which path to take. Hopefully they will accept our application for DCF. For now we are going to start processing our marriage before our little bundle of happiness arrives. We are so excited and happy. Again, thank u so much. I wil contact again if ever I have questions. I hope u wil still be around. :)

  7. <p> In addition to residing there for 6 months as the major requirement -- you need evidence to support the claim of permanent residency. Many items can be used to show such, even simple items

    • rental/lease agreements
    • gym memberships
    • school records
    • bank account(s)
    • I-card

Hi. Yes we all have those. However his visa when he came here last year was only tourist visa. Would that make a whole lot of difference? He will stay here for the next 5 months. And on that spun of time it would be perfect for us to process the DCF.

  8. Submitting the I-130 Petition to put you on the track towards an IR-1/CR-1 visa (spousal) minus the added paperwork of submitting an I-129F for a K-3 which would administratively get closed anyway -- would mean one less document to fill out. K-3s were done at a time when IR-1s were taking more than a year to complete -- that's no longer the case, especially for an applicant in the Philippines.

The advantage to getting married (IR-1 visa) is you'd get your Green Card shortly after arrival vs having to wait months in the case of a Fiance(e) visa.

Whichever way you decide -- good luck!

Thank u for ur response, I really appreciate it. So you're saying a fiancé visa is the easiest and fastest way? Since baby will have his own passport after filing for a CRBA. Others suggested we qualify for a DCF since my fiancé is here with me. He just arrived from the US today actually but he lived here for almost a year from May 2013 to April 2014, went back to the US and came back again.

  9. Your fiance lives with for almost a year, then you are qualify for DCF for CR1 visa as long as he still here all the way through the process. You can join this group on FB and all members will guide you accordingly. https://www.facebook.com/groups/asawaworld/

    goodluck

He's only been here in the Phils less than a year and went back to the US and then he just arrived again today! Would we qualify for a DCF?

  10. Thank u so much for the replies! I never thought someone would actually reply. So really appreciate ur response! So just what my fiancé thought, the K1 is faster but wil I be able to bring my baby with me? I'm worried I filed for fiancé and what about our baby.

And yes my fiancé lived here with me for almost a year. May 2013 to April 2014. Wil that qualify for a DCF?

Again, thank u so much for the reponses.

  11. Hi. Last year I met the love of my life. I am a Filipina and my fiancé is an American. We've dated for almost a year now. We met here in my hometown. The love we have for each other brought us this little bundle of happiness growing inside my womb. We are having a baby! Of course my fiancé's family is super excited to meet me and my baby. Especially that my fiancé is the only son. Now we are not sure what to do next. Should we get married first here so I can apply for spousal or we should wait and file for fiancé visa first? And what about our baby? Pls if anyone knows about this topic pls shed some light to our questions. Thank u so much.

  12. Hi! I live in the Philippines and met the love of my life here. We didn't meet online whatsoever. We met personally here. After almost a year, I found out I'm pregnant! And baby is due this first week of July! We are so happy and excited. However, there's been an issue we have been trying to answer for the last couple of months. We can't wait to get married. However we do not know if we should file for fiancé or spousal visa. The family of my fiancé is very excited to meet me and my baby especially that my fiancé is the only son. So before we make another move, we want to make sure this will make it easier for us to visit the US. Should we get married first and file a spousal visa for me and child visa for our baby or we should not get married yet so we can file for a fiancé visa but what about our baby? Pls help us. We are confuse.
