@AHMILWAUKEE @rlschwartz79Have you guys heard anything from USCIS in Milwaukee? I'm also MKE January filer. No movement after biometrics in February.

Update: we went for the interview on 10/13/20 and he passed! Checked MyUSCIS the next day and his oath ceremony has been scheduled for 10/29/20 so they are turning it around quite quickly!  No one is allowed to go in with them except for an interpreter :(

We still haven't gotten anything in the mail but I looked at our USCIS account on Saturday and the interview has been scheduled for October 13th! My friend who works with immigrants says that Milwaukee had been scheduling oath ceremonies quite quickly too. Any news yet?

  3. just wanted to check in and ask, with Nairobi do u choose ur interview date or is it given to you?

You get an email from the embassy, inviting you to go to a website to sign up for an interview date and then make an appointment for medical. We got that email on December 3rd, 2015 and the earliest interview date available was February 22nd, 2016. I'm not sure if the holidays that fell between played a roll in that or if there's usually a 2.5 month period between the email and the appointment availability.

  4. Hi all joining the thread with hopes of getting my interview in the next couple months. 1st scan date 31 December, 2nd scan date 1 february. Quick question for cr1/ir1 applicants. how long after case complete were u all able to get an interview in nairobi?

    Hi there,

Check my signature for the time that it took a couple months ago.

  5. How did it go,did with getting the non immigrant visa?

Ah! Sorry, didn't see this until just now. We decided not to do that after all. My husband was concerned that it would mess up this application.

We are now in Nairobi, interview is on Monday! Just hoping that we have everything with us that we need.

Any last minute tips are welcome.

  6. Hi everyone!

We got an email today inviting us to make an appointment. I was expecting that we would just be assigned a date so I just wanted to check to see if this is normal.

How much time should we allow for the medical check-up?

Finally, since christmas is coming up, we were thinking to try our luck (again) at a non-immigrant visa here in Uganda, since we're *almost* done with this I was thinking he may be more likely to get it. Has anyone tried applying for a non-immigrant visa while their immigrant visa was in process? (of course we would come back here for the interview, etc).

    Thanks!

  7. 1. Country USC resides in: Currently, Uganda. When we initially sent the I-130, Nigeria
    2. Is there a USCIS field office in this country / Is DCF still possible? No
    3. When did you file the I-130: June 14, 2014
    4. How long had you been living abroad: 6.5 years
    5. Do you reside in the country legally? No - currently on business visa, going through the steps of getting a work permit
    6. What is the reason for your residence: Petitioner's job
    7. Did you list your foreign address on all forms in I-130 package? Yes
    8. Did you send I-130 package from abroad? Yes
    9. Did you include evidence of your residence abroad in the I-130 package? Not in the initial I-130 but in response to the RFE we sent our lease in Nigeria and the one in Uganda
    10. Did you mention the fact you reside abroad in the cover letter or write a letter describing your current situation and the evolution of your relationship with your spouse (mentioning your residence abroad)? Yes
    11. Has your case been "auto-expedited"? How long between NOA1 and NOA2? It seems like it, though we did have to work out a change of mailing address (they sent the RFE 7/17/14 but we didn't get it until 8/30/14) and the RFE (got it 8/30/14 and sent reply 9/29/14), so between NOA1 and NOA2 was about 3.5 months but between reply to the RFE and NOA2 was 7 days.

  8. I applied for the CR-1 visa for my husband a few months ago. My husband is Ghanaian and thanks to my job we were living together in Nigeria when I first sent in the paperwork. I am about to send in the additional evidence that was requested but since I sent in the application, my job has moved us again, to Uganda. I want to make it clear to them that we are living together overseas because I have read the thread here that when the USC petitioner is living overseas, the process is sometimes expedited but I also do not trust the mail system here to deliver at all, let alone on time. What is the best way for me to indicate that:

    1. We have both moved to Uganda so any future interviews should be here

    2. I still want to receive mail at my permanent address in the US for the sake of quick communication.

    Thanks!
